If I could actually see the show, I could leave a better review. I can hear the performance, and it sounds lovely. I only see the heads of others. We walked 2 miles to see this show, which is not their fault, and I have to stand in the back to see anything, then walk back. We were the last table invited to get food from the buffet and they were out of salad, rolls and chicken. Don’t waste your money on this show. Go somewhere else where you can see it as you hear it and where they have enough food for everyone.

Okay if you can get decent seating. Made reservation on the very first day bookings open for the date and this is the view from the seat: the stage is not visible. With a 11 year old kid who was excited to see luau, even standing didn't help. Food was abundant and lines were managed well but don't look forward to it as the buffet quality was subpar at best.

I asked in the comments on my reservation if there would be vegan food available and the emailed me the menu, which was nice. They had rice, zucchini, tossed greens (the papaya seed dressing was amazing), poi, and pineapple, so if you like all that, it's a meal. The menu listed papaya as the vegan dessert, but all the desserts come in one plate so you'd have to get all of them to have it. The service was great and all of the performers were all so incredibly talented, and I feel so lucky to get to experience this rich culture. ❤️

Very beautiful performances. The band and MC were great. Our server kept the drinks flowing and the food was delicious! We booked online, so we were seated right away. A bit pricey at just over $130, but it's all you can eat and drink, plus the show. Don't forget to tip your server!

The luau was fantastic. We bought the VIP tickets and I highly recommend it. The VIP tickets for you into the venue first, you didn't have to sit in long tables of 30-40 people- you were at a table with just your party, and had a front row seat. In addition you had your own personal to get you drinks instead of waiting in the long bar line, you were first to eat (some people waited 40 minutes) and it came with the regular shell necklace, the macadamia nut lei and tiki mugs. The food was delicious and the show was fantastic.

A most enjoyable Luau. The food was excellent, and plenty left for seconds if you wish. The drinks were free flowing from soda to MaiTai. The dancers were great. The ambience and setting were incredible with views of the sunset and it is right in the ocean. And most important their fore dance performer was far and away the best we have seen over the years. If you are going to a Luau you should definitely consider this one. We have seen several over the years and this was the best.

Second time in a few years and even better than I remember. Even the food was better. Not to say it was ever bad. The show was amazing. The host was great. What I’m going to call the lead performer, he was something to remember. No doubt he has dedicated his life to this. Very close to his heart is his heritage. Can’t wait to go back and back to Kona. My wife snapped a few pictures but we just watched the whole show in peace.

Hubby and I have been to two luaus before but this was the first time with our girls and my gosh, what a fun experience this was from start to finish! Highly recommend coming a bit early as the line was already formed when we got here. The kind hostess saw our little kids and seated us right in the front, in front of the live music and my gosh, the live music was the best. My 5 year old who loves everything music was in awe. The band was so good!! I love how organized they were when it came to the buffet dinner. No rushing, no pushing, no cutting happening here. They were very very organized in how they chose each section to line up for dinner. They had such a good selection for dinner, they had fish, Kalua pork and Teri beef. We have been in Hawaii for 3 weeks now and hubby said this was the best pork he has ever had. It was so fresh and delicious. I loved the Teri beef and fish. Food was delicious. My girls loved the dessert. The entertainment now, first the host was amazing! So entertaining. The show was excellent. There was not one dull moment. It is not easy keeping a 3 year old and a 5 year old entertained, but not this time. Not once did my girls take their eyes off of the stage. The performances were so fast paced and so very entertaining. Of course, the girls most favorite was the fire dance hehe. They were so enthralled. I highly highly recommend this luau, excellent food, excellent service, excellent ambiance and excellent entertainment.

This is my first luau and it was wonderful. We got a free mug with the vip seating that included food, drinks, a photo and two types of necklaces. The performers were amazing, the location was beautiful at the Royal Kona. The ocean backdrop was incredible seeing the water splash behind the performers. If you are in a wheelchair there is accessibility and make sure to inform the staff at the parking lot so you can get accommodations to park close inside the lot. Really amazing experience m. They have an incredible band.

Very knowledgeable and funny host. The performer's were awesome. The Hawaiian 4-man stage band did a great job and the Luau food was very tasty. I would highly recommend this Luau and show.

I don’t understand why some people left bad reviews. This show was very entertaining and the food was great! The actual entertainment went from about 5:30-7:15. Parking was super easy at the hotel, and cost $5 once validated. The history of the Polynesian dances was great and the band and dancers were incredible! Not to mention it all happened as the sun was setting. I’d definitely recommend this show.

Such a great time. Check in was super simple and easy. There was no line when we got there. We did arrive about 15 minutes early as recommended. They take your photo right away. These photos are available to purchase at the end of the night if desired. You get a shell Lei to wear which was fun. The setting is so nice right on the water. You are right outside the resort, but there is vegetation separating the luau from the rest of the resort. All of the seats have a great view. I'm glad we didn't pay the extra for VIP because we got a seat at the table right next to the VIP section with a great view of the stage. The dances and performances were amazing. The fire show at the end was REALLY amazing! There were unlimited drinks (wine, beer, basic mixed drinks, Mai tais, and non alcoholic drinks) and the line was never long. The Food was buffet style. I was amazed at the variety of options to eat (beef, pork, fish, sides, dessert). The beef was my favorite! Parking was also very easy. We got a street spot right at the entrance. I would definitely recommend if looking for a luau on the big island!

The actual show itself was awesome an the food was good! However, we booked VIP for our honeymoon and had food and some drinks, then it got rained out. We scheduled a rain check with Cora and she asked me which date I wanted to come back. I told her the next Tuesday and then asked if there was anything I needed to do... rebook, call, etc. She said no and she would take care of it so they knew when we were coming back. She told us we could only come for the show (not the food). We wanted to have the food again because it was so good. She told us to come at 6:15pm although our show got rained out before that, maybe around 5:40pm or so. So that didn't seem fair, as we also had open bar until 7pm. We tried to come early and ask if we could pay to get the food again, and explained how we were on our honeymoon and wanted a whole experience. Cora was there again and said no, we had to come back at 6:15. I asked if she could check with anyone to make it happen, and she never did. I don't think she cared or tried to do anything to help. Ok, fine. So we left and went to the bar at the resort while we waited. Then we came back and she had someone bring us to our seats in the general seating area. I said no, we're VIP... so we should be sitting where we paid for the seats. She said she would go check and never came back. So we just sat there since the show already started. I didn't want it to ruin my time, but I was mad/upset about how the whole situation was handled. Then during the show, they acknowledged birthdays, and anniversaries and people who were on their honeymoons. Of course we didn't get called up/acknowledged because we weren't on the list since it was a makeup rain date for us. It just peeved me since we paid a lot of money and we were on our honeymoon! I feel like a little care could've been used to make it happen for us! Otherwise, the performers and food/drinks were good!

We loved it! Great show and a great setting. The stage frames by the ocean and the sunset was amazing. All the performers were great, especially the fire finale. It is expensive but a tremendous experience. We purchased GA tickets in advance and were seated in the back with a straight on view.

This luau was amazing. The show was absolutely on point so good. Performance was a 10. Food a 2. I recommend the Vip pack for front row seating, lie picture and tiki mug. :) Excellent family show.

The location is beautiful and watching the sunset behind the dancers was breathtaking. There weren’t as many food options as I was expecting. The Mac potato salad was probably the best I had on the island. The drinks were plentiful as someone was walking around just setting Mai tais down in various places and tables. I never had to wait for a drink. The show was fun and we enjoyed seeing dances from other cultures as well as Hawaiians. We were farther back but honestly I don’t think there’s a bad seat to be.

The show is at the resort right at the water. It is a nice show explaining the history with dancing, singing and fire tossing. There is a buffet included. The food was good. Depending on what souvenirs you want, there are different levels of tickets. We didn't pay for the upgrade but got a good seat. I recommend that you get there early. A line forms and that is how you choose your seats. The resort gives you a discount on parking for attending the show.

Worth every penny. Several different dances & clothing changes. The band added so much to the experience, as did the emcee. Plenty of food to choose from on the buffet. The fire dance kept us on the edge of our seats. Recommended, and we would do it again.

I liked the show, the preformers and commentary were all excellent. The lady who sang, and the fire dancer did exceptional jobs. I was slightly disappointed in the food. I was expecting more traditional foods with less of an American Buffett feel but, I will say the open bar isn't bad either.

This place is in Hawaii. We had such a great time. The food was amazing, the music was great and the dancers were very talented!

Let me start by saying it rained for the entire time between being seated and the performance starting. That can’t be helped, I’m just glad they didn’t cancel the show. The staff handed out ponchos after we were already soaked. I got a VIP ticket which meant I had my own table near the front, this would be a great option for families however as a solo traveler this just meant I was completely isolated. The server assigned to my table ignored me more than once however a different server from a few tables over noticed I was alone and came over more than once to chat and make sure I was taken care of. Thanks Luigi! (maybe? Should have checked the name tag again). The food was subpar, honestly the fish was the best part for me and it was really good but I had higher expectations for the pork. The show was great! Loved the Samoan fire knife dancing of course, the hula was the best I saw on either Hawaii or Oahu, and the band was great as well. Overall I recommend attending if you stay at the Royal Kona!
