We heard about this restaurant before and our expectation is high. However taste of food still shocked us, it’s amazing! The fish in the poke bowl is super tasty! The tacos also very good. The best experience is the nachos, I never had such great nachos before! Unbelievable!

Great local fish and other food. We got the "poke flight" - great way to try more than one of their excellent selection of poke! Also had the fish tacos - got cajun seared and it was FANTASTIC! Cooked, but not over cooked. Great strong and delicious drinks too. Friendly staff.

The service here is great, and the atmosphere! The food was appealing to the eye and I would give a five star but my fish didn’t have much flavor(fish tacos) I put a little bit of salt and pepper and was much better! But overall it was good😊

Number one recommendation by several people on our first night upon arrival. I see why. The food was outstanding; fresh and flavorful. Highest quality fish. Creative cocktails with unique use of local flavors. Good local draft beer selection. There was quite a long wait list but we didn't wait more than 15 minutes to get a seat. Highly recommend!

The food is special and surprising to us as 5 star, but taste is at most 4 star. The best among all the dishes we ordered was actually the mushroom, so juicy and savory! Other dishes are generally fine but cannot reach my 5 star standard taste wise. Interesting food overall!

They charge you 4% to use a credit card. Do I need to say much more than that? Outside of the that, the food is above average for the island for sure. Here's a trick, go to Costco that's down the road and buy gift cards, you'll save 20%. So the food is pretty decent. All the places around this place seem more fun so maybe go there after. Service is fine, but everyone seems too okay with adding 4% on top of automatic 20% gratuity for parties of 6+. Then try tried to get a tip on top of the 20% in a shady way. To sum of, get the coupon, food and service is ok. Hang at the places around it after.

Popular seafood restaurant offering a variety of choices such as steak, poke, burger, and tacos. The meals are tasty and filling, as they come in large portions. The waitlist was 13-28 minutes long so make sure you sign in immediately. The burgers were juicy, the fries were addicting, and the tacos were flavorful. Highly recommend the poke.

Waited over 15mins before we get someone to take our order, over 30mins to get the food. Service was slow and not good. Poke was so salty, and super sweet, I don't know how people eat it. So much sauce plus the seaweed is so salty. The oysters was cold, they either forgot to cook it at all or it sat there for an hour, the cheese on the rocketfeller was not even melted... We had to return the dish. The cocktail tasted like cough medicine. Definitely will not return or recommend.

We tried getting reservations the day before a d the morning of, but we're told there was none available for our party of 9. I was told over the phone that we could come in and join the wait list in person. I called about 30 min before we arrived and was told there was a short wait for our party. When we arrived with no reservation. We sat within 10 minutes. We had Andi and a trainee helping us, and they were great. Overall, the food was great, including the drinks and dessert. There was a 20% gratuity added for large groups and be aware of the + 4ish% if you pay with credit card, so we used a debit card instead.

Food was a bit overpriced, but good quality seafood.. Had a wonderful Hawaiian vibe, but seating wasn't well. When we walked in there were two people sitting on a table that could've sat at least 6. A little upset about the 4% credit card charge, but not a big deal. Dishes are shareable, giant sized servings.. I ordered the sweetie poke w/a side of seaweed salad. Was super impressed with the poke, the ahí was super fresh and the sauce was absolutely delicious! Seaweed salad was a great side. Servers were lovely and service was amazing. Overall, would probably come back! 🎣 Edit - was writing this as I was waiting for the check, and our fantastic server Andi didn't add the 4% charge and 20% charge (for parties 6 or more), because he stands by his service. That's a guy who loves his work! 💜

Stopped by on a weekday night approx 7 pm. No reservations, but there is an online wait-list that moves quickly. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the wait list moves fast. Once seated, our waiter, Andy, explained the specials and was personable. We ordered and the food came really fast. Appreciated there was cider on tap from Ola brewery! Payment option includes a 3% surcharge for use of a credit card. Plan accordingly.

Popular with the locals and tourists alike. Nice staff, ample parking. I wished they'd open at 10:30am, as I never have time to sit and try while traveling. That's just on me. Food looks great and I'm sure it tastes as good as it looks. One day.....

Was good food. But really was not many options. I mean for a place by the sea where they get fresh fish every day.

Food was very good. My friends had the poke and oysters and were very impressed with how fresh everything was. The lau lau pork was very nice and moist, though very mild in flavor. Our server kind of ignored us...? The place wasn't packed or anything, she may have just been having a bad day.

Someone who visited Hawaii many times recommended this place to have Hawaiian meal. This is super! We enjoyed it so much. Perfect taste. Definitely we will be back.

The food and the service is great. 1 star off for their business practice with credit card payment. They will charge 3% if you choose to pay with credit card (which is fine) but the server does not ask you how you would like to pay. They just include the 3% on your bill and leave you to do the math. Otherwise, great tasting food.

We never miss a trip to Umekes when we visit. The poke is second to none, the cocktails are creative and perfectly balanced, and the staff are friendly and attentive. We had the tempura fish tacos, pork nachos, and fries ( not all in the same visit... lol) We actually purchased 4 filets of mahi mahi that was caught that morning, and it was the best grilled fish I've ever made. Don't miss this place!!!

We have been eating here since the they have opened. During this years visit, we dined there 5 nights in total (Nov 2023),the way they served the fish was not consistent (overcooked for my taste), so you have to tell them how you want your fish to be grilled in detail. Otherwise, everything is fresh and yummy!

Delicious food. I had the fish tacos, and they were wonderful. My husband had the Kamachi, raised just off the coast, and it was cooked perfectly. My daughter had the Mo Loco, it was disappointing, too salty and she is a salt lover! Our friend had the poke, it was delicious.

5 out of 5 for sure! Our appetizer arrived promptly. The poke and the Lau Lau were fantastic. This was definitely one of my favorite meals on our vacation in Hawaii. They also had live music, and our server was very attentive and friendly. Thank you!

It was a very enjoyable dinner. The vibe of the restaurant is relaxed and vibrant, with a lovely outdoor area. We loved our food - The Next Level Lau Lau was very flavourful and we loved the fried egg and the crunchy wrap. The Da Avo Poke (with mahi) was refreshing and tasty. Servings were very generous and service was quick and friendly.

Umekes is a great place to enjoy some delicious Hawaiian food. The portions are generous and the flavors are authentic. The wait time might be a bit long, but it is worth it. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood and poke.

Great fresh seafood. One of the best poke dishes I’ve had. Good quality. Quick service. 2 minute walk to the Kona brewery so if there is a wait you can grab a beer!

Delicious! We found Umekes thanks to an episode of Diners, Drive in and Dives. Wonderful atmosphere. The food outstanding. Our server was an absolute amazing woman. We will definitely be back. A must visit and enjoy place.

The place has a nice atmosphere and the server was friendly. We received a 10% discount because we were guests at Wyndham hotel. The food on the other had was just average. The fish and chips and the fish tacos were below average. The fish was bland. The Makai platter was average. But the bulleh fries were excellent.

This was another recommendation of Bellman Gene. So happy we could finally come here last night. The wait was very long 57 mins but it was worth it. Andi was our server and he took excellent care of us, even though we were the last table of the night. The kids enjoyed their sliders and chicken nuggets. Hubby got the grilled fish plate of the day. He chose seared ahi belly with Ho'io salad and he really enjoyed it. I chose the only dish I had come here for, the Big Boy plate with Hottie and Kanaka poke (Andi's recommendation) along with Ho'io salad and seaweed salad. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every bite. So good. Excellent service, delicious food, what more could we ask for. Highly recommend!

The overall experience was not inline with the pricing. We left wishing we went to the chicken place next door that had a great atmosphere and a fun vibe. The food was overpriced and lacking flavor it was nearing the end of the night and our server started side work and ignored us while needing attention during dinner.

The pork nachos appetizer was absolutely excellent. The fish tacos were good and very large. Too large to eat like a normal taco. And the fish and chips were good. The staff was good and attentive.

My kids guzzled the fruit punch and my son said they must have stolen the recipe for their chicken nuggets from McDonalds because they were so good.

Excellent selection of Poke with daily specials. How can you go wrong? Frsh, well prepared and quick.

I was really excited to try this place out. The reviews seemed great, but my experience there was mediocre. The hostess and waitress were very nice. I got poke nachos and they could have used a little more ingredients. Don’t get me wrong it was okay but I would have loved maybe some mango or something else to add to it. My husband was really hungry and got their big mixed plate but he left still feeling hungry. Overall it’s a cute restaurant, friendly staff but save your money. The price is way overpriced for what you get.
