Food is very tasty and very fresh. Catch of the day never disappoints. Kailua pork with cabbage and the pineapple coleslaw very yummy. The mud pie is a must, the perfect ending to anything you order.

Authentic Hawaiian meal, enjoyed trying the teriyaki chicken , kalua pork, macaroni salad, and Coleslaw. Very generous portions at a modest price. And the coconut ice cream pie? Soooo good

Great locally owned place. Get away from fancy and expensive restaurants. This is where the locals come. No frills, no touristy vibe. Inexpensive and flavorful food. 5 stars.

We were delighted that recommendations we got about this restaurant were spot on. The food portion is generous and the quality was excellent. The staff were kind and helpful. We both loved the Super Loco Moco (we choose hamburger patty, Portuguese sausage, and spam). We also had short stack of pancakes that are really good. Splitting the two dishes between the two of us we still had leftovers which is great because we get to enjoy again!

We were a group of 4, and we all got different meals. Some got brunch, seafood, and a blt. All of us enjoyed our food. My fish and chips were absolutely incredible. The sautéed fish was even better. I highly recommend either one. Our waitress was fantastic, super sweet, and we never had to wait for anything, as she served us faithfully, with joy.

We love coming here! The food and service never disappoints! Remember to leave room for the Kona Coffee Mud pie, so yummy and so big you can share it with your friend.

Food was okay. We ordered the omelette and the eggs Benny. This place was hyped up so much and it was just regular diner food. Which isn’t a terrible thing, but just nothing to write home about. Service was slow, but that’s okay! Servers were great and friendly. Overall 3/5 stars.

Casual comfortable atmosphere with locals and visitors. Very friendly staff and great flavorful food. Shrimp scampi is not an omelette option I would have thought of but it was very good. Anywhere else I would have said that the link sausage was very good, but it was definitely second fiddle to the Portuguese sausage. The brown gravy is almost good enough to eat as soup. It is not sausage breakfast gravy, but great on the hash browns. And I normally would never eat desert with breakfast, but I couldn’t resist the coconut ice cream pie. Two days later and we had to come back. I went for the super loco moco with kalua pig, Portuguese sausage and katsu chicken.

It’s my best meal for the whole trip. Get super locomoco if you’re a meat lover. Mud pie is delicious too. Price is reasonable and the server is nice. Highly recommended

I arrived when they opened and was greeted and seated immediately. On my way to the table, I was asked if I wanted coffee, and as soon as I was seated, the coffee met me at the table. I ordered the super loco with hamburger patty, roast pork, and Portuguese sausage. The portions were great, and the taste was very good as well! I'll definitely return here!

Food is good. Locals and tourists. We were seated quickly. Large portions. Chicken Katsu on the island comes with a BBQ like sauce, not traditional Japanese, just fyi.

Really enjoyed our meal here. The atmosphere is nothing to speak of but the food quality is high. They're only open in the morning and close at 2:00 p.m. Portions were generous. We liked the pork, teriyaki chicken and the grilled fish sandwich. We also ordered the big soup and had enough leftovers for a meal back in the hotel later. $72 plus tip. They have breakfast all day but we didn't try that. We were there for lunch. Pay with cash to avoid a 4% surcharge for credit cards.

Been a reliable go-to in every regard for the dozen+ years since my first visit to the Big Island. Skip the expensive dining at resorts and chains... eat brunch here instead. Pics of "Super Loco Moco" and "B.I.G. Salad".

Macadamia pancakes, super good. Loco Moco, good and huge. Be ready to get your eat on. I got the chicken katsu version, but expect the beefed ones to be similar.

Excellent service and great food!! We ordered the "Mixed Plates" The first photo is a teriyaki chicken and chicken katsu plate with fries and mac salad, and the second plate is the teriyaki beef and Korean chicken plate with sautéed vegetables and mac salad.

They dont have their friday lau laus anymore. Loco moco - the gravy was like mash potato gravy. No deep flavor at all. This is paired with an unseasoned hamburger patty and a pork cutlet that was not marinated at all. Only the Portuguese sausage was ok. The saimin - broth was super umami but the noodles werent really ramen noodles. Gave lots of pieces of cha siu and even had dumplings too. The mustard sauce was diluted. Would definitely not come here for the loco moco. Other items may be better.

Outstanding local restaurant in Kona. Tasty food, decent portions, and fantastic people working here. There may be a wait but it's definitely worth it.

Great food and great service. If you like comfort food this is the place on the Big Island. Dined on separate occasions for lunch and breakfast and great each time. Menu has changed since covid but the quality remains.

Ordered the Loco Moco with hamburger…it was phenomenal!!! Way exceeded my expectations. The burger was one of the best I’ve had.

Food here was amazing. The portion sizes were huge, and fairly priced. We really enjoyed their special Saimin, and other brunch dishes were tasty as well. Servers were very nice to us. Great experience. :)

First meal on our recent holiday to the island. Super friendly service and fantastic food at a reasonable priced. Felt like this is a place that the locals come to as well. First time having loco moco and I'm hooked lol. Will need to try making it on my own as there aren't any places back home that serve this.

We went here 15yrs ago glad to see it was still there. The food is pretty good but not great. I had the Teri beef and hamburger steak and my wife had the fish and chips. I will have to say the Teri beef was very good with lots of flavor but the hamburger steak was just so so. The fish, the day we went was ahi tuna which you would of thought would be good but it was a little dry. I guess that's why they usually sear ahi and not use it in fish and chips. Overall it wasn't bad but not great.
