「江の島・鎌倉フリーパス」を使って、長谷駅から歩いて成就院などに寄りながら「極楽寺」に着きました。 アジサイにはちょっと早いですが、その分すいており、落ち着いて参観することができました。 庭の手入れも行き届いて(今日も多くの方が手入れをされていました。)いて、何年も前に訪ねた時と全く変わらない雰囲気が保たれていました。 HPには、 「開山は忍性、開基は二代執権北条義時の三男重時で、1259年に建立され、全盛期には、金堂、講堂、十三重塔などの伽藍のほかに49の塔頭を備えた大寺院だったが、合戦や火災、地震等により、今では山門と本堂を残すのみとなっている。」と記載されていました。 鎌倉の寺社での御朱印は、コロナの影響で書き置きのみが多い中、極楽寺は御朱印帳に記帳していただけますので、御朱印帳を忘れずに！
