If you're a big fan of the King Eternal Monarch you should come here. You'll feels like filming that Kdrama. The entrance fee is 300 yen if you only want to enjoy the Hokokuji, but if you want to enjoy matcha in tea house, you should pay 900 yen, and it's worth it! Inside is not only Bamboo forest, but also a small beautiful garden. You won't get bored here. Unfortunately, this place is not wheelchair friendly.

Location : 鎌倉 Kamakura. 1 .5 hours from Tokyo ( 🚋 + bus ) Clean: Tidy and clean Price: reasonable, less than 1000yen with green tea + cookies Never thought there’s a Bamboo forest in Tokyo. Not big area, but good enough for a walk, relax and take pictures. Very relaxing place, worth to pay for the tea set. Very cool place for summer time in Tokyo. Beautiful landscape architect. (Japanese Gardening) Less tourist here.

It had a entrance fee when I went there but it was totally worth it. You could even enjoy green tea in the middle of this green oasis. Or you can just sit down in front of the stone garden with the small brook going trough the whole forest. Even if you don´t want to pay the entrance fee, in front of the forest there are small stone figures. (My daytrip to Kamakura in Spring'20 Tsurumi station - Kamakura station - Chokozan Myohon temple - Hokokuji Bamboo Forest - Jomyoji - Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gú - Kenchoji - Meigetsuin - Tokeiji - Zeniarai Benzaiten Shrine - Kamakura beach - Kamakura station - Tsurumi station 'around 10 km walk)

Beautiful tranquil spot to walk through a bamboo forest. It's a little out of the way(35 minute walk from the station) but well worth it.

It's super peaceful and serene to walk among the bamboo. Definitely worthwhile to get the tea ceremony. Since the place is not very big sipping on the matcha gives you a reason to sit a enjoy the place a little longer.

So cool and a must visit! Even better on a rainy day. The bamboo and plants are extra vibrant after the rain.

It is not a Forest; you can easily finish viewing in 10-15 mins. If you have time and have never seen bamboo trees before only then you should visit otherwise I would recommend spending time some place else. Also not worth paying money. Can get few good pictures though.

The Shunan Bamboo Sea is located in Yibin of southern Sichuan Province. Covering over 4,000 hectares with a vast plantation of bamboo, the site has been a rare and famous scenic area since ancient times. The core scenic area is of 44 square kilometers, a total of eight main scenic area two order 134 sights. A total of 58 species of bamboo, the scenic spot is more than 70000 acres, where is China's largest collection place of landscape, caves, lakes, waterfalls, with a long history of human landscape and it is one of the biggest original “green bamboo park”; Vegetation coverage is 87%, and the natural oxygen bar with extremely high content of air negative ions in the country. Literally a world of different types of bamboo trees covering over 500 hills, the forest stretches as far as the eye can see and fills the air with the fragrance of bamboo. Favorable mild temperatures year-round make it an ideal tourist destination. Among the ocean of bamboo lies a narrow five-kilometer path. Walking along this "Jade Green Corridor", the fresh air and sound of the green waves rustling in the wind create a heavenly experience.

Hokokuji Temple is a serene escape from the hustle and bustle. This Zen oasis is a hidden gem, known for its bamboo groves. The peaceful atmosphere and the rustling bamboo create a calming experience. Don't miss the matcha tea in the tranquil teahouse. A must-visit in Kamakura!

The shrine is up a small road from the bus stop. The garden leading up to the shrine is beautiful and manicured. Pay 500ÂĄ at the ticket office building left of the main shrine to visit the beautiful garden and tall bamboo forest. Note the bud is extremely crowded, but the shrine is a fair distance from the train station.

Small, peaceful, and easy to walk around. The actual bamboo forest was pretty small. We did not do the tea portion so we paid ÂĄ300 per person to enter. Not sure it was worth paying, but was a pretty place.

We went as we heard it was good alternative to Kyoto. Convenient bus from station and is option to have matcha tea in room looking into the woods. However was much smaller than expected so felt it wasn’t worth the effort. Toilets need a little care

Delightful walk and matcha at the bamboo forest. There was a queue to enter the tea house last Sunday. It would be better to go on weekdays to savour the place and tea more leisurely

The forrest was small but quite beautyful, it wasn't too crowded. When we bought the tickets, we chose the version with tea. It was totally worth it. We drank matcha with some sugary sweets while also having a nice view of the bamboo forest.

This place is incredible ! But very small ! We visited during pandemic so no tourist …! Crowed like hell during Ajisai season which can make the place not enjoyable as when it’s less crowed

Even I, a Japanese, am impressed by the bamboo forest here. WABI-SABI is here. Feel the silence as you savor a cup of matcha tea.

The bamboo forest was cool, but it was small and out of the way. I was expecting the forest to be bigger, but it was extremely small. It was cool to walk around and see the bamboo and the tea bar was ok. I don’t think I will return for those reasons. *Please Note* you can not take family/ professional photos in the forest. You can bring a camera. Not only is there no space for any kind portrait or model photography, they will also ask you to leave if you do this.

This is a nice little spot in Kamakura. You won’t spend more than 30 mins here but it’s a must see when in the area. There is parking close by if you chose to drive there or you can also take the bus. For 300 yen you get to walk around in the bamboo garden and get some great pics to add to your tourist collection haha. There’s also a fee for the green tea section I believe they make the tea for you 🤔 Anyways if you’re ever in the Kamakura area definitely check this spot out, I believe it’s less known because it wasn’t crowded at all.

So beautiful but very small, the garden is so peaceful, the bamboo forest is too small. You have to pay entrance

Very nice day trip area in Kamakura, peaceful area and walk through the bamboo forest and temple area. Area where you can get a matcha green tea and sit looking out into the bamboo trees. Awesome place to go in Kamakura. Limited parking but if you are going into the bamboo area there are some spots to park for free. Very nice peaceful and beautiful scenery if you are in Kamakura this is with the stop.

Not too crowded. The park was not as big as I thought but still very beautiful and tranquil, and was a lovely place to relax!
