A strong 5 Star rating to this huge but very charming Cathedral with a majestic appeal too. Unlike the many old cathedrals, made of bricks and mortar, this St Joseph Cathedral has lots of wooden structures. Very high wooden ceilings, rotating ceiling fans with a unique roof structure to add to the traditional appeal. Wooden seats and pews, with seating capacity of easily 800 members(???). A lovely church.

Very good church. Got married here last week. The building itself is amazing and has air conditioning. The toilet looks nice.

This is why we do not deserve something ’good’. Please please please please remove your footwear if you wish to place your feet on those cushion. Wondering if you also wear your footwear on your bed too?

I've been attending mass here since early 2000's. After the renovations, the cathedral now is cold, advisable to wear thick clothes to keep you warm or bring jacket/cardigan if need layering of clothes. The toilet is very clean. There's a shop nearby and there's more facilities that is useful for students too. Overall, I highly recommend this Cathedral because it is so welcoming.🥰

A place to calm ones mind and soul. Hope those seeking it, will find it. Moons and moons ago there was no Aircon. Now it's fully Aircon. Bring a jacket if you attend service. Rather cooling.

If anyone actually bad review a church, idk what to say dy😂 and to that,bI love how they actually are very obedient/strict towards the sop as they are taking things very seriously. If you dont register, dont bother coming. No 'walk-ins' as you have to register via their registration form provided in their Facebook account. Above all that, this is the only reason i love St Joseph. You cannot simply enter the church without registering yourself. Mass are pleasantly great.

This is probably one of the most important places of worship for all Catholics in Kuching, being able to accommodate a bigger number of devotees to be gathered under one roof. Car park is ample n there are reserved parking lots for the OKU's. With the completion of the upgrading of the Cathedral, we now have an air-conditioning system running for the comfort of all. The compound is clean and well kept. 👏 👏 👏 Bravo to each and every one for your invaluable jobs well done 👍👍👍 Priests are kind and friendly. Alter Boys, Church Wardens, Announcers n Volunteery Helpers are all giving n working with one another will hearts full of love and devotion. May Our Almighty Father Shower Us with his Love and Devine Mercy and Continue To Bless, Guide, Guard and Protect Each And Every One Of Us And Our Families 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Surely, it's very SACRED🙏besides beautiful, and the nostalgia it has for St Teresa's and St Joseph's girls and boys ❤️...where friendships and even marriages were made 😘 Every time, the presence of the Almighty is here - this presence even melts my Heart of Steel. This is a place where I've seen people of all races come - probably it's calming, peaceful and feelings of the Almighty's presence. Be GRATEFUL 🙏

A fine church to attend weekly Sunday mass. A lot of parking space but you need to be early at least 30 minutes before mass. The seating space are big and comfortable.

If you never come, or long time since your last visit, do bring your warmer clothes. It's very cold inside

This is my first time to this cathedral for mass. This place is so nice and calming. But if you going to mass here, please bring your jacket because it is so strong and cool inside.

2nd Cathedral after St. Thomas Anglican Cathedral that came first during ''Raja Brooke's Era'' This Cathedral is the Seat of The 'Roman' Liturgy and ArchDiocese of Kuching to Miri Sarawak .. Other Cathedrals are in Sibu n Miri .. Miri also shares the same Name of St. Joseph ( Diocese of Miri ).. Only in Sibu the Cathedral is known as Sacred Heart of Jesus

I don't get why St. Joseph is obsessed with locking the gates or awful seating placement. I've come so many times and see the settings just look awful and sure, you want to maintain the social distancing thingy but the fact that some seats look pact while the front is always spacious just shows how bad yall at managing the settings and people. Not to mention locking up gates like yall own the building. A church is suppose to be a place of worship, a place of refuge and a place of God so the heck you lock the gate if they are late comers. Let them be, their sins and mistakes are between them and God. Wouldn't it be better if they actually came than rather don't? Not everyone is lazy or late for no reason. Laws are everywhere but a church should always be more flexible then places with those strict laws if needed. Treating people the worst but number 1 when it comes to asking for fund and donations, wow! I am genuinely losing interest to come to church and be assured that I am always 15 minutes early (never late) and to see how bad the management is , treating the church like a camp rather than a church is awful. Hog the church all you want but don't expect your church will be full like they were with how bad it is now.

A wonderful church to go to when you're in the heart of Kuching. The people are friendly and the SOPs during the endemic period are still strict, ensuring all the congregations are safe during these times.

It has been 2 years since i last came here. Despite knowing this Cathedral is under a facelift, it still surprised me when i came. It is beautiful and modern in a way that compliments the historic atmosphere.
