This place was a AWSOME experience. Lots of locals, no tourist, but I bet this place will be busy when tourism. Opens up. Try fresh sushi right on sight.

The best seafood in Kanazawa is found here. Best of all, you can sample the food at different eateries, along with a beer. The oysters are amazing. And look out for the puffer fish stand!

It is a fish market. Alot of different kind of fresh fishes can be found here along with barbercue eel and oysters. I do not see alot of sushi or sashimi offered from the stall. If you want to eat sushi or sashimi, you have to visit the restaurants in the omicho market. There are also alot of fruits here. I had seen alot of locals do their shopping here.

Had the best seafood in the entire Japan personally. Definitely a must visit for sashimi if you are a seafood lover. Would recommend exploring the whole place and being aware that there might be better deals for sashimi rather than the one the tourist crowds around :) There are also many other delicious food like beef skewers and fresh fruits. Also there is a second level to the market where you can eat the same kaisen don but with much less of a crowd.

A lot of stores selling ubiquitous seafood. I don't even know which store I went to but the seafood was fresh and service good. Bear in mind, a lot of stores only transact in cash and some stores prohibit photography

Omicho market is the gem of my Japan trip. If you adore fish and seafoods, sashimi, ebi, uni and kani, this is heaven! My hotel was a minute walk from the market. In the morning, I'll roam around for an orange freshly squeezed juice before starting to devour sashimis. The market offers various choices with indicated prices. Restaurants of sushis and donburis were also present. Last day in Kanazawa, I bought some uni, amaebi, hotate, chutoro for my ekiben. The best idea ever! Ps : Omichi market is way more better than Tsukiji market.

Very good seafood here! Better than Nishiki from Osaka. We went to a sushi place and had really really good sushi don. Fresh and juicy and very affordable. Cost us 3500jpy for 2 big bowls. However when we came here around 12+ most shops were closing already so it wasn’t as exciting as it could have been.

Very nice market with lots of different options to try! I think every restaurant had the exact same menu (choices, pictures, prices, everything). I opted to buy directly from the stalls.

Morning market. A lot of fresh seafood you can purchase and eat instantly. My family had some raw scallops/sea urchin etc and loved it. I had some grilled squid and it was nice. there are also many souvenier shops and restaurants here.

Ōmichō Ichiba has to be one of the top markets of its type in Japan. Far bigger than those in Sendai and other larger cities, Ōmichō Ichiba offers a huge variety of fresh seafood, vegetables, and ready to eat delicacies. In the basement level you will find some great restaurants like Campion's Curry. I visited in November and the crab season was in full swing. This is worth your time; come hungry.

Typical fish market selling fresh fish, crabs n other seafood. Fresh fruits n cut slices of fresh fruits are sold. Grilled meat on sticks n croquettes are available. An interesting n colourful place to visit n indeed it attracts hordes of tourists. People there are polite n welcoming. However, I visited two Japanese restaurants n found the food to be rather expensive selling at fancy tourist prices. We walked away. Guess I expected more.

Lots of fresh foods to eat or buy. Eatery are available at the second floor and some at the ground floor. Just go there early because the shops will close early at the afternoon but restaurants closes at evening . I went there to eat the famous golden soft cream and the heart-shaped croquettes.

One of the best morning seafood market! Price is reasonable with lots of varieties, fresh seafood and local delicacy. Comfortable to walk and it's really clean. Many restaurants available on first floor too.

We loved the fresh tuna and oysters. It's a typical fish market, with the smell and everything, but it's pretty clean. There are some omiyage or souvenir shops there too.

The place is utterly jam-packed on weekends. It is better to go as early as possible. There are a lot of varieties of seafood as well as groceries and fresh fruits. There are lot of restaurants attached to the market which provide fresh sea food on the platter, which cannot be missed.

Great colorful local market. We've arrived in morning time and all the stalls offered great fish & vegetables that were exceptional looking good. Everything was very clean. However, it isn't that big compare to other markets in other Japanese cities.

This is like the Tsukiji market in Tokyo but sheltered. There is no need to worry about rain unlike Tsukiji market. There are lots of stalls selling fresh seafood, meat, vegetables and fruits. You can find stalls selling dry goods and tea. Sushi restaurants are plentiful. Almost all will have a queue during the peak hour. Be adventurous and try small bites from various stalls. There is one oden stalls at the end of one of the alleys that is very popular. We tried both the sushi restaurant and bbq & seafood from the stalls. All tasted good with different environment.

300 years old huge local market with wide variety of stores offering excellent shopping experiences. Great place to try the wide selection of seafoods. A bit pricey but guarantee fresh and good quality. Clean and bright atmosphere. Friendly shopping environment for both Japanese and foreign visitors. Highly recommend!!

A must to visit when you are in Kanazawa. Get crowded during lunch time. They have a few famous restaurant with long queue but the street food is not bad as well. You can buy n taste different things from different stalls. Best time to go there around 10am.

I suggest not to visit restaurant but just buy food and eat at "EAT-IN SPACE" (イートイン) It costs only 600 jpy for Octopus rice and grilled fish and fried shrimp.

The Omicho Market in Kanazawa, Ishikawa is a spacious indoor complex with stalls selling fresh produce, seafood and meat. Many dining options are available on the second floor for those who want to take more time to dine and relax. Convenient access, clean market and the people are fairly friendly. The seafood in Hokkaido is better in my opinion though.
