This park needs to be renamed to Kissing Couples Park. Entrance ticket 100RS for foreigners and 30RS for locals.

A small park that probably takes 15mins to go around. Nice place to stroll. When I was there in the late afternoon, there are lots of couples (counted at 10 pairs) seating on the benches, many with umbrella huddling together and .... ;p. *Entrance fee for foreigners is 100 rupees.

Small but nice relaxing park. Shop just outside to grab a drink and some snacks. Lots of benches and seating areas inside to chill out. 100 baht entry the park has a lot of names so don’t worry if you don’t see the correct sign. There are diggers and construction going on inside but at the Time I was there no one was working. Birds and wild life here. Overall it’s worth checking out.

The Wales Park, also known as Royal Palace Park, Rajawasala Park or Wace Park, is a small park situated on top of a small hill in the center of the Kandy city. It stands overlooking the Kandy Lake and was established by King Sri Wikrama Rajasingha. The park was later renamed by the British as Wales Park to honor the Prince of Wales. The park displays a Japanese field gun which was captured by the British army during World War II and given to the city of Kandy.

Very good place to couples. Not for kids and family. 18+ couples are allowed.. Ticket price is fine (LKR. 30) no guards to disturb 😉 if you want.. you can do whatever you want no body watching you..

Beautiful small park.. Worth for Rs.30/= ticket. But the problem is you will see lots of young couples everywhere. So i don't recommend you to go with your children. Its totally okay if you two are a couple. Go and have some fun on the top of Kandy city..

For that perfect fun time along with your family and friends Wales Park is the best option for you while you are visiting Sri Lanka. For your bucket list this is another best places to visit in Sri Lanka. Situated at the top of a small hill this park overlooks the Kandy Lake, this park is known for its majestic view. This park is also known as The Royal Palace Park.

The park is small, inside there's the first gun that the Britain's bought to Sri Lanka for the war other than that not the garden is maintained well. The most embarrassing thing is that there's couples all over the place where you would have to think twice to take your children for a place like this. Please behave well if you're visiting a place like this so that not only couples, everyone could visit places.

If you ever went to Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens this park won't impress you. SO DON'T WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME ! This Park is not properly maintained ( the fountain in the middle of the park is rotten with fallen leaves ) But they charge an entrance fee (30/-). Really, peoples houses have better garden than this one And this place is crowded by CREEPY LUSTFUL couples who think they R in LOVE

Paid Rs100 and got to see free show of young supposedly in love couples hugging, fondling, kissing. A sorry sight for sure. The park itself not much to see and it's not properly maintained. I don't know what's royal about it.

It is a small park with lake view through shady old trees. It was under some construction work and some sections were covered with construction materials and machinery. Only roadside parking available. Enterence ticket Rs. 30/- per person. Overall - not recommended as a place to visit in Kandy city area.

This is a park most likely for couples to spend a romantic time!! It’s well maintained and really beautiful gardens!! Tickets aren’t expensive for locals. And it’s walking distance from lake round.

Nice small park. Very green, with nice view on the lake and some parts of the city. Lots of couples. 100rupees entrance for foreigners.

A small park with few things. Normally a park for the local lovebirds to hangout and bond. If you’ve been to the Royal Botanic Garden at Peradeniya, don’t bother coming here. Can go straight up to the Kandy Viewpoint for a clear view of the city. The entrance for foreigners is Rs100. Regardless, it is a good place to chill from the bustling city streets.

Wales Park in Kandy is known by many names: The Royal Palace Park, Wace Park or Rajawasala Park. Situated on top of a hill, the park covers approximately 2 hectares of land and is known for its majestic views of the surrounding city and Kandy Lake. It was established by King Sri Vikrama Rajasinghe, the last king of the ancient Sinhalese monarchy, who was deposed by the British in 1815. The British subsequently renamed the king’s park to “Wales Park” in honour of the Prince of Wales in Britain.

It's located at the middle of Kandy town. But it's not popular like other parks or gardens in Sri Lanka. From my visiting experience, this park very comfortable and suitable only for couples and lovers. Otherwise just avoid this place. Actually it is a small park. Not attractive entrance No more flowers The mini pool was dried Entrance fee 100/= per adult Not recommended for family trip or friends trip

A haven for the courting couples of Kandy which detracted from the pleasant surroundings. 100 Rupees entrance for foreigners, didn't offer the good views that this former castle location I hoped would have.

If you like this sort of thing, you'd give it 5 stars I'm sure. The dance and drumming were very, very precise. Very colourful traditional costumes. Worth a look even if it's not your thing.

The Royal Palace Park in Wales Park seems to be in a state of disrepair today. Facing the Temple of the Tooth, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the early morning and late afternoon sun. But young children and parents in particular should avoid going to the gym together. The shameless behavior of loving couples will not look good on your child.

Very beautiful Park Area in the Center of Kandy. Peaceful and quiete. The Entrance Fee is 100rps. Nice to have a little walk there. It’s easy to walk up there from the Kandy Lake.

Outdated, not maintained, not managed at all park. Something is trying to be build here, but no results. Fountain is not working, benches are old and broken, roads are muddy with grass. Tractors and lorries are inside the park. It is not a park, but more a construction site. Couples use it for dating.

Entrance for foreigners is 100 LKR. Felt very uncomfortable walking around with couples kissing and being intimate everywhere! There was literally NO space for us to sit down and relax, it was crowded with lovers, rows and rows of couples hiding behind umbrellas. And there is nothing to see at the park at all, very badly maintained. Would not have visited if we'd known.

It’s… nice? Tiny garden with obscure artefacts of a british park. The kissing grounds for the local young couples.

3 friends and i went there and the security stopped us to look at our ID after giving the ticket we later knew the park was full couples kissing and doing their deeds. Later we understood why they had to take a look at our ID 🤣🤣 definitely a weird experience 🥴

Short pathwalk from the lake to garden. You can see there a silver artillery gun, not only trees and flowers. Good place to rest in shadow after very crowded and noisy center of the city.
