It's is quite famous spot for tea lovers in kanpur. The method to prepare tea is quite unique and novel, the taste and aroma of tea is great. The cream added afterwards in the kulhad(earthen cup) adds special flavour to the tea. Though the cost of tea is little on the higher side but overall it is worth the cost.

This place doesn't need any description, it's one of the favourite hangout spots for Kanpurites. No doubt, it serves probably one of the best chai in Kanpur. This place has a vibe, which cannot be matched. My Favourites here: Kulhad wali Chai, Bun Maska, Samosa, Bread Pakora, Mathri and even Gulab Jamun in Winter season, it was there when I went last year. Keeping the current situation in mind, one can have tea standing away from the crowd maintaining social distancing and making sure to sanitize. Also, for more food pictures and places, follow my Instagram food page @wannabefoodii 😊

The banarsi tea stall is not the same anymore! ...the price and the taste of their tea are poles apart. I would love to get the same taste as they used to serve earlier. For now it didn't meet up with the expectation

Very famous place for tea. One can enjoy tea in Kullar here. Snacks items are also available. There is issue of sitting place. Mostly people love to take tea here. Whenever I go to Kanpur I also visit this place to take tea.

Talking about what's the specialty here is TEA & i think that it is overrated, yeah it's my personal choice i don't like to mix everything separately in my cup like they do. I think everything other than tea is good there. But if we talk about the quality then I can say they do not compromise with the quality. Quality of everything is good.

One of my favourite places. If I visit Kanpur any day I make sure I visit this place. I like tea here with malai and without malai too. Also you can try chola khasta, bun butter, pyaz kachori too. It is a pocket friendly place and it is always crowded. Just park the car and one of the employee will be there to serve here. Too good. A must visit place.

This tea stall is a unique stall which is in existence since half century. Initially it was located near Kargil park and preparing/serving tea in a different manner. Became a landmark in city. Now that shop is vanished and has started the similar stall at 80 feet road. Stuff is good but cleanliness has been compromised. One has to taste the tea and snacks in standing position. Worthwhile visiting if cleanliness is not preferred.

Something is missing in their taste now. They are well known for tea but now focusing on other things except tea. Now tea is not upto the mark for which they were known for that.

Ambience was somewhat ok, its spacious having chill out area, but as a tea lover the taste is not that gud as we heard that this is the best in town. I can give 4 out of 10. This is my personal opinion of taste as I am from different part of India where tea is the most famous and most of the tea lovers.. Ambience is ok..

The day before yesterday we had come to Kanpur where we had heard the name of Banarasi Chai, so we went there and enjoyed the tea as we had heard, their way of making tea was much better than what we had heard, the taste of the tea and whether it was different.👌👌👌😋😋😋😋😋

Earlier they used to serve the best chai in town. But now the taste and the quality of the tea has degraded drastically. It feels like they've forgotten their own secret recipe and are trying to bring it back anyhow. Earlier it used to be filled with people from all over the city. Now on every visit it feels like they're losing the crowd on a daily basis.

Best tea I have evr had! The samosas are very good too - comparable to the best in kanpur. Bun maska is also good. They shud come on Zomato for customer benefit. They shud also open their branches elsewhere especially in Ghumti and Ganga Barrage.

  • 1/5 Dhirendra K. 3 years ago on Google
The place is overrated as there is too much crowd they dont give proper time to boil tea. The place is always filled with gyuss who used to smoke and drink tea. In short it is tea-sutta point

  • 1/5 ayush a. 10 months ago on Google
The tea was too much sugary ... it had some sort of oil floating on the tea surface ... I also ordered bread pakora which was undone I had to return it . Then I ordered butter bun, the butter was nutralite . Totally pathetic experience.

  • 3/5 Ankit T. 1 year ago on Google
Average. Nothing special about the tea. I make better tea at home. I visited there after getting so many recommendations like it's something out it the world experience of tea. I was good not bad but it's normal tea.

The tea here is actually pretty good. They serve the tea in clay glasses called 'kulhad'. It is actually famous in the city as well for their tea. The tea is not that costly as well.

Youtubers have hyped this place. Tea is average, more milky froth ( ofcourse served in kulhad) - 25rs. Sitting Place super unhygienic. Better to take tea kulhad and sip standing at road. Ofcourse good to put on the WhatsApp status 😊

  • 2/5 Shivam C. 3 years ago on Google
The tea is extremely popular in the whole city. But I didn't like it much because they just make it in 2 minutes recepie and it doesn't give the proper taste of original Indian tea.

After taking a straight turn from Brahma Nagar Chauraha towards Gumti Gurudwara on 80 feet road you will find Banarasi Tea Stall on one’s right hand side. One must not miss its special Kulhad tea along with equally amazing Pyaaz Kachori as breakfast, trust me one will feel full of energy and zest without feeling bloated. Don’t confine yourself with catering of a hotel. Explore. Highly recommended!

Personally I don't like chai but the chai of this place is the only chai which I not even like but love it. The kulhad chai costed only INR 25. They have a very unique style of making the chai. They prepare the tea leaves water and boiling milk separately and then mix individually as the order for the chai comes. Inside the kulhad, first of all they add a pinch of cardamom powder, then approx 3 scoops of milk and then tea leaves water and mix it all. As per the customer demand, they add a layer of malai over it. It's a very simple and unique technique but don't know there is some magic in it. A person who have this chai will get addicted to it and this is for sure !!!

Tea making is great but overall taste was similar to bag tea. Food items were good. Only suggestion to owners to maintain more hygiene it will add more stars to there business for future. Request to wash kulhad atleast once I saw dust in it very clearly . Not good for health . Rest all is good.

  • 3/5 Sharad T. 1 year ago on Google
The tea is good but it is too costly. Now the taste is not really liek before. Also, the culture of eating snacks and drinking tea in car is very common here and they supports this.
