I went just to see how bad you all were saying this place is. It’s a wonderful little mom and pop shop. All the animals appeared healthy, clean enclosures, food and water. Maybe instead of attacking this family actually visit this gem.

I took my mother here on Mother's Day, after I had been scammed while trying to buy a parrot online. What a breath of fresh air!!! John quite clearly loves birds. If there is something you don't know, I can assure you, he does. His shop was clean, and all of the animals were well cared for. Shame on anyone that says otherwise! John was kind and patient and able to educate us well when considering birds. If you don't have a bird, but want one, John can help you find the right fit for you. If you have a bird and have problems or questions, I'm confident you can come to him, without judgement, to get educated and learn how to create the best living arrangement for you AND your bird to be happy! I love this store. My family went to see if we would be a good fit for a pet rat. Played with the rats and talked to John for a good hour before adding two fur babies to our family. The store is very clean and the animals very healthy. You can tell John truly cares for the animals and the customers!

Your gross . Shop was gross . Animal neglect . Lack of nurturing to animals and their needs such as water and food and space . Worst place I’ve been to . Traveled to Missouri for a week went in and was in shock this place is going against a lot of pda rules and regulations we need to get those animals out of there and shut them down ASAP NEGLECT LACK OF WATER 7 TURTLES WITH ONE BOWL OF NASTY WATER SNAKES NO WATER BIRDS NO WATER FOOD BOWLS COVER WITH BEDDING SO MUCH WRONG WITH THIS PLACE . “Those who lie will have to face god at some point”-OWNER. When I first started coming to this location I never knew he existed , I take my son to this location once a week to get his Ball Python a feeder rat, and the owner is always pleasant and knowledgeable. My son loves his store, will continue to go here .

This store is awesome, don't believe the negative reviews. There is a large assortment of critters in this store and they all seem live and well and happy. I will absolutely be returning

Actual customer that lives and shops here! I shop here once a week or two. If this was a bad shop I personally would rescue the animals. All animals are taken care of very professionally. All facilities & cages are super clean and organized. John has a ton of experience and is patient and willing to share knowledge. He helped me out when I couldn't get my snake to eat. I highly recommend this shop for anyone who has birds or reptiles.

John was great to work with, brought out many animals for my granddaughter to see up close. We took home a very well behaved hedgehog for my daughter. Highly recommend!!

John is a fantastic man who really cares about people and animals. He has a wonderful selection of reptiles, birds and other animals. Best of all he babysits our Bunny when we are out of town.

Before I get a response about trying to pick up an animal or take a picture I just want to say I most definitely did not. When I walked in the smell of urine was almost over bearing. I never asked to hold any animal or had any desire to. I never picked up my phone to take a picture. My honest opinion is this place is just dirty and some of the animals look very sick. I’ve seen healthy birds, and these birds do not look healthy. The smell of urine throughout the place was horrible. Every bird cage was disgusting. It seems that friends and repeat customers are posting good reviews on here to back this business up but after having looked through many pet stores, I will say this establishment was extremely sad and depressing. There’s really no excuse for the condition of the cages or the smell inside the store. Not to mention the overall dirtiness if everything else in there.

My family and I have done business with John's store for several years. We have purchased feeder rats, a couple of lizards and a rabbit. All have been good experiences. We make a 25 mile drive just to get the service and quality from his store. John is honest, knowledgeable and has a big heart. John is running a small business with personalized service. He still is able to compete with the big stores. My kids truly enjoy talking to him about the animals he has in his care. We will continue to do business with him. The bad reviews are mostly posted the stereotypical little teen TikTok'ers. They are trying to be relevant and gain attention. Don't believe what they write.

I still stand behind my original review. Hands down best shop around. Lots of nice snakes. I found this place a while back and go weekly. That tik tok video is not a representation of this place. The nicest guy owns it, animals are all healthy, clean , and right down spoilt.

I am a novice reptile owner. John has shared both his time and knowledge to help me keep my snake happy and healthy. On three separate occasions I have arrived at the store as it was closed and John was in his car ready to leave. Each time he opened the store to help get food for my snake. Don't be fooled by fake bot reviews on Google. Take the time to visit the store and be serious about your inquiry into animal care and ownership. Came in from out of town today, checked out a variety of pet shops. This shop had a decent selection of food, substrate, and care items! Large selection of birds and small mammals and a small section of reptiles. NOTE if you miss the small sign about no cell phones/cameras on the door the owner will yell at you promptly. Was actually looking forward to purchasing a large tank from this location as it was very well priced but felt very unwelcomed when we went to take a quick fun photo with the beautiful bird that free roams and got yelled at. Owner didnt seem to want us to be there after that one warning (we didnt see the sign) so we left…

We recently rescued a budgie and needed some toys for our new feathered family member. After a quick search for pet stores nearby, we discovered this store, conveniently located as the nearest option. Our decision to visit turned out to be fantastic as we had the pleasure of meeting the store owner, a true wealth of knowledge. Despite the store's limited opening status, he warmly welcomed us, offering both a chance to shop and valuable advice on caring for our bird. His assistance in selecting a suitable companion for our other bird at home was invaluable. We're truly appreciative of the outstanding experience we had!

He was very knowledgeable with the animals. He answered all the questions from my boys regarding Guinea Pigs and the Russian Tortoise. Prices are very comparable to what you would see elsewhere. The animals all looks happy and well taken care of.

John is always friendly and helpful every time we go in there. He is very knowledgeable and his birds ate all healthy and well taken care of. We go in just to look around sometimes, but his prices and quality of products are the best

I used to not like this pet store because of how the animals were kept and how dirty it was but I am seeing some improvements, keep up the good work:)

Largest selection in Kansas City. All animals appeared well cared for. Talked to vet while I was there she said that she comes out once every couple weeks to do wellness checks. I don’t know any other pet shop that has this done. Got myself a couple new tarantulas today. Lots of cool ball python morphs. Visited again 12/31 even better than last time. He’s done a ton of upgrades

Always helpful and knowledgeable about the animals in his care he also cares more about the animals than he does the money we are beginner reptile owners and he helped us with everything we needed to know in order to get our new ball python who we have since named Jafar thank you!!

Amazing mom and pop shop. The animals all appear well taken care of, clean enclosures, largest enclosures in any shop I have been in, only thing is was floor was a little messy with white feathers from the doves molting. I like the fact that many of the birds are free roaming and the rabbit/guinea pig enclosures must of been 10 feet long and 4 feet wide.
