Came here for lunch with friends on a cold November day. Needless to say, the outdoor patio was closed and there was no deer 🦌 however, we prefer the cozy indoor seatings anyways. There are just as many seatings outdoor as indoor! We ordered pork shoulders, variety of sausages and some soups. The pork shoulder was cooked perfectly (even better than some restaurants in Munich downtown). The meat was tender and the skin was crispy. The sausages were also pretty good as well. I really like the white breakfast sausages. They were delicious! The server spoke perfect English and very humorous. Overall we really enjoyed our experience here and the food was very good. Highly recommended!

Everyone in München knows the famous Hirschgarten. There are a lot of seats a lot of beer and street food. There are also deers of course which you can feed with special food sold nearby. Might be quite busy in the evenings as a lot of folks want to visit it after the work. Recommend it anyway.

Snowy? Minus 5 degrees? Public transportation not working? Not an issue until the beergarten is working and there are ways to order a beer sitting near the outside owens. A very nice spirit and a great way for socializing even during snowy winter. Very much recommended!

Majestic Munich Gem As an avid traveler, I have had the opportunity to explore various enchanting destinations around the world. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Munich, Germany, and stumbled upon an extraordinary place that has left an indelible mark on my memory - Hirschgarten. Nestled within the city's heart, this sprawling oasis of natural beauty and tranquility is a must-visit for locals and tourists alike. From the moment I stepped foot into Hirschgarten, I was instantly captivated by its serene ambiance. The park spans an impressive area, boasting lush green landscapes and charming pathways that wind their way through picturesque scenes. As I strolled along, I couldn't help but marvel at the well-maintained gardens and the exquisite harmony between nature and man-made structures. One of the highlights of Hirschgarten is undoubtedly the deer enclosure, which houses a sizeable population of graceful and gentle deer. It was a surreal experience to observe these magnificent creatures up close, as they gracefully roamed around their spacious habitat. The sight of children and adults alike feeding and interacting with the deer brought a sense of joy and connection with nature. It's a truly unique and heartwarming experience that sets Hirschgarten apart from other parks. Beyond the enchanting deer enclosure, Hirschgarten offers a myriad of recreational activities for visitors of all ages. Families can relish in the various playgrounds scattered throughout the park, where children can frolic and let their imaginations run wild. The park's well-maintained picnic areas also provide the perfect setting for a leisurely lunch or a relaxed afternoon with friends. One cannot discuss Hirschgarten without mentioning its famous beer garden. Tucked away under the shade of majestic chestnut trees, the beer garden is an idyllic spot to unwind and indulge in Bavaria's rich brewing traditions. The atmosphere is convivial, with locals and tourists sharing tables and engaging in lively conversations. The selection of traditional Bavarian dishes is extensive, and the aroma of freshly grilled sausages and pretzels fills the air, tempting even the most discerning palate. What truly impressed me about Hirschgarten was the seamless blending of nature and cultural experiences. The park hosts various events throughout the year, from live music performances to art exhibitions, ensuring there's always something new and exciting to discover. I had the fortune of attending a captivating open-air concert during my visit, and it was a testament to the park's commitment to fostering a vibrant community spirit. Furthermore, the park's accessibility is commendable. Whether you prefer cycling, walking, or using public transportation, Hirschgarten is conveniently connected to Munich's transportation network. This makes it easily accessible for both locals and tourists, encouraging everyone to experience its natural splendor. In conclusion, Hirschgarten in Munich is a true hidden gem that captivates the hearts of all who visit. Its seamless integration of nature, wildlife, recreational activities, and cultural events creates an unforgettable experience. Whether you are seeking solace in nature, enjoying quality time with family and friends, or immersing yourself in Bavarian traditions, Hirschgarten offers it all. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Hirschgarten, as it will leave you with lasting memories of Munich's beauty and charm.

Such a nice place with nice beer. Very relaxing even too it's busy. You can always find a seat there. Also if you go all the way to back there's nice deer view which is so cool. Must go there to see the culture.

I visited the Biergarten here. It is very crowded but you can always find a vacant table. The atmosphere ia very good with live music. Be noted that most stalls only accept cash, not cards. 1 liter of beer costs 8.4 euros, half a chicken about 9 euros, ribs 13.8 euros.

This beer garden was on top of my list of places to visit while in Munich. We went to the palace and botanical gardens and then headed here for lunch. This place is huge!! Now I actually saw why it's the biggest beer garden in Bavaria and the world! But while large, you don't feel cramped. Well, we didn't, but perhaps it's because we were there in March. Lol The beers were cold. The food was very good and came out fast. We really enjoyed ourselves there. As huge beer lovers that we are, I highly recommend this place!!

A huge park where people can engage in a wide range of activities. No admission fee needed. The deer are pretty cute and friendly, you can bring bite-sized apples, lettuce, or carrots or field grass to feed them. There are also playgrounds for children and besides a lot of space for dogs. Overall children-friendly and wonderful for a long walk around the park!

Some of the deer are sick. Some ignorant people keep feeding the deer bread, even though it's explicitedly stated on a sign, NOT to feed bread, but only apples/pears. These animals are getting sick because of human stupidity and nobody is feeling in charge to change things. The restaurant who is supposedly in charge of the animals, do not do anything about it. The photo shows a woman feeding bread to these deer, despite being reminded not to feed bread.

Best apple strudel in town. They also have a great duck and meatballs. Cozy atmosphere inside on a rainy day. Service was very friendly, but a bit slow given the smaller crowd.

Very nice beer garden. We visited during the winter season, when Bavarian curling (Eisstockschießen) is on offer. Not the cheapest activity ever, and it's a good idea to make a reservation, but great fun for a group. Everything is well-organised and the Glühwein is a cut above the usual touristy standard. It appears to be popular with locals which suggests that it's not just there to get tourists to pay with their money. Well worth the short trip from the centre of Munich.

Really enjoyed "Eisstock schießen" at Hirschgarten. Delicious snacks and drinks for the breaks in between. Big plus for the restaurant itself being wheelchair accessible with a portable ramp at the door and an accessible restroom.

The Hirschgarten is a beautiful park and wildlife reserve in Munich. It is the largest park in the city, with more than 400,000 square meters of green space. The park has a historical hunting lodge, a game enclosure with deer, and several playgrounds for children. The park is also home to a variety of birds, insects, and plants. The park is a great place to enjoy nature, relax, and have fun. The Hirschgarten also has a restaurant that serves delicious and hearty food. You can choose from traditional Bavarian dishes, such as roast pork, pretzels, and sausages, or try some international cuisine, such as pizza, pasta, and salads. The restaurant has a cozy and friendly atmosphere, and the service is fast and efficient. I highly recommend the Hirschgarten to anyone who visits Munich. It is a must-see attraction and a memorable experience.

It appears there's often a mix-up here in the reviews, also coming from a wrong place description. Hirschgarten is a public park. At the northern end of it is the restaurant and beer garden called "Königlicher Hirschgarten Restaurant & Biergarten". I'm only reviewing the public park here! Compared to other parks in Munich, which are usually very well maintained and pretty, this one is rather unappealing and dirty to some extend. A big attraction are the stags on the grounds. Great for small kids.

Such a unique beer garden with lots of seats and beautiful deers walking next to you! The food there is just ok, but for this scenery is worth it! And you don't have to wait so long for a seat or sit with others, it's also a plus point! It's not allowed to take any alcoholic drinks but food is ok.

It’s natural calm park you can bring vegetables and feed the deers as well as they have restaurants bars ice creams snacks etc but the prices of eating stuff are quit high I suggest for family picnics bring your home cooked stuff . Good new they have ground where you can let your dog to free their legs and body .

Nice place to eat and drink German food and beer. There are a lot of Germans there, so it's not a touristic place, but it's very suitable for tourists. You can bring your own food, but the food there is good. Only a little bit expensive for a Biergarten. And you have to grab your own beer (8,8€/Liter).

Nice park with few deers running around. Beer garden is ok. We went there with our family and two young children, space was neat, tidy and clean. Not the best, not the worst beer garden I’ve been to.

Huge beer garden (almost 8000 places !!!!), very well organized, tasty 1l beer (you can find also 0.5l or some juices), food can be bought, crepes and some other sweets can also be chosen. The 1l beer is 8.2 Euro and the food (sausage and chips also 8.5 Euro). Music is in the background. This beer garden is part of a big park which is 5-6 tram (16 & 17) stations away from the Central Station. A total recommendation when in Munich and you vet thirsty !

This place is huge!! Behind the beer garden is a beautiful park! We had two 1 liter beers for 16.20 euros and mackerel fish for 14 euros. The fish was so yummy! Its kind of far from the city center but if you have the time I would recommend going here! They don't sell fish in the city beer gardens.

I recently visited the Hirschgarten beer garden in Munich and had a fantastic time. It’s the largest beer garden in the city and has a wonderful atmosphere. The shaded outdoor seating is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a cold beer. They have a great selection of beers, including local brews. Make sure to try their pretzels and traditional Bavarian dishes like bratwurst and sauerkraut. It can get crowded, especially during weekends, so try to arrive early to secure a seat. The beer garden is also family-friendly, with a playground for kids. Overall, Hirschgarten beer garden is a must-visit spot in Munich for beer enthusiasts and those looking to experience the Bavarian beer garden culture.

Another super green city park with sports, a beer garden, a fun fair, a deer enclosure with cute spotty baby deer & parking. Visited in July…..hot & busy on a Friday evening but a genuine Bavarian experience ☺️

Magical place that I know since I am a child. You can feed wild game, visit a crazy fair, play in the water playground for free (if you are a child), take drugs, meet lovers, get great bavarian beers, spend a lot of money or nothing at all...

We had such great food here, there is everything you could want from healthy soups, to German weiners, seafood, so many heavenly dips you can have have with pretzels. Huge variety of food and goods stalls its a lovely stop for a few hours and there's a fresh water fountain. Didn't find any toilets though which gets tricky😅 it's just a few minutes walk from Marien Platz

A traditional German beer garden. Great fresh beer and soft drinks. You can bring your own picnic and sit under the trees or in covered porches or you can buy food there.

Generally, a very nice beer garden. My complaint is still that in low occupancy times (which are technically the nicest), they do not take cards which I find pretty ridiculous. Especially, as we are not talking about pennies.
