The food is fantastic. I tried the buffet. It had two meats and a lot of vegetable-based food. First time eating African food and was amazing. The buffet includes a beverage and a dessert/coffee. The stated price does not include taxes (around 25%). I was served by one of the owners. The man was gentle and available for clarifications, food explanations and more. He can look a little rude, but he is not. He is just worry about giving a nice experience. Good man. The place is very Interesting. Beautiful decoration and details. I was expecting African music, but the place had smooth jazz, which is always a very good choice.

Being a great fan of world cuisine, went with some expectations. But the diner in Asmara scared me to try out authentic restaurants. Abience: a place which does feel anything like having a good dining experience. The choice of music is so bad ( it Food : worst in the name of Ethiopian/ Eritrian food. They r trying to ensure that people who visit Asmara dont build any expectations from african food. Service : there aint a big team serving, so you can find only 1 old chap taking orders and being a bartender. I read a similar review on tripadvisor but took my chances. Drinks: If you expect soem hotel in germany to serve beer mixed with water for 3,5€, please add this hotel to lost. Last but not the least, staff ( bartender + owner + steward ) will be highly unprofessional. Get ready to lose ur self- esteem. Having everything said, the hotel in the end asked for payment in cash and not accpeting card payments. I found it very bad that they are cheating and not paying taxes to goverment to save some cost. My ratings are towards 0 and did not find any good thungs to say about this hotel. An roadside imbiss is more better and serves ' atleast' hot food for a bill of 60€. Dont go for vouchers, i read on trip advisor that they serve more badly to people with vouchers :(

That's really amazing food and a wonderful experience. Suggest to everyone to go there. Have been to several Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurants and this was definitely one of the best.

We went to Asmara for the first time - honestly just because we had a voucher. I don't have a lot of experience with African cuisine and my only comparison with Eritrean cuisine is the Restaurant Mogogo in Karlsuhe where I went to a couple of years ago. Here are my impressions: + lovely owners + yummy food + relaxed atmosphere o prices a little on the higher side o atmosphere of a typical german "Kneipe" o bathrooms a little run down but clean We (a group of for adults and a toddler) had a vegan platter for three and one soupy/stewt dish. The platter was yummy and filling. I personally really enjoyed the chickpea soup as well - some others in the group were not too impressed by it. What really stood out was the friendly and kind spirit of the owners. Our son had the best time crawling around and checking out what was behind the bar. The owners took the time to play with him and gave him the freedom to move around freely. This was really great. We will come back.

We went to this restaurant because we had a coupon for it, and were not expecting to be super impressed, but in the end we loved it!!

Good, solid, food. If you want to up the spicyness, just order it on the side.

Very tasty food.

The male owner was rude to me. He shouted when l came and continued to shout at me. The lady explained that it has nothing to do with skin colour, but he was racist to me. He wanted to intimidate me to stop writing my review. But I will write it anyway. You don't bully customers. Period. I couldn't even eat the food. I requested to pay and left. Uncalled for. As I said before, l would never recommend this, even for my worst enemy.

Felt aunthetic and serves delicious food. I would recommend for foodies and suggest to taste their platter. The ambience was bit dull for my taste. But overall it was a delight!

Literally the worst service I've had in my life from this old white German man. The food was great, but if you happen to be a woman, a person of color, and don't speak German well, then prepare to have a bad time. I'm like the easiest person in the world to wait on because I've worked that job before, so I know how hard it is and never complain about anything, but the waiter literally yelled at me, insulted me, loomed over me at the table, and took my plate away while I was still eating. I should had left right away, but I was so hungry at that point, so I stayed. If you don't speak German well, are a woman, Asian, or American, then stay away. Maybe just order takeout since the food was good, but don't eat there as the horrible service ruined the entire experience. 0/5 stars
