Sunset Beach is the quietest and most relaxed of the three major beaches in Koh Lipe. The other main two beaches on Koh Lipe, Sunrise Beach and Pattaya Beach, are a lot closer to Walking Street which is the island’s tourism centre. Sunset Beach is great for swimming, the beach is clean and except for the late afternoon it’s very peaceful. Sunrise Beach and Pattaya Beach may be more popular, but if you looking for somewhere to stay with the kind of relaxed atmosphere that made Thailand popular in the first place then you are much better off heading to Sunset Beach. Sunset Beach has a small number of resorts which are actually on the beachfront. The best resort, and also the biggest, is Bayview Sunset Resort which has a variety of different types of bungalows. Sunset Beach is located 900 metres walking distance from Koh Lipe Walking Street.

The beach is beautiful and the water is crystal-clear (with the high tide) and there are not a lot of people. However, there was a big garbage boat parked (with all the trash we tourists produce) next to the resting spot and the smell was really bad and we had to leave. It is really sad what has happened to this stunning island, the amount of trash we tourists are responsible for is absolutely mind blowing. We are destroying this paradise on earth.

Nice place to watch sunset on Koh Lipe. Sand is hard and water is not very clear for snorkeling.

Unfortunately, Sunset Beach didn't live up to our expectations. The path leading to the beach is littered with rubbish, the beach itself is not clean either, lots of mosquitoes. There is also no amazing white sand here like on Pattaya beach. We know this beach is famous for its sunsets, but we couldn't enjoy them because of the clouds on the horizon.

Quite nice beach and empty of people as well of long tail boata. The cons are no too many places to eat or drink. You have to be careful when you go to swim since there are a lot of urchins.

Sunset Beach, a very nice beach to walk, clear ocean and smooth sand. Stayed here to watch sunset. Best.

Sunset beach is exactly what you’ll expect. I was lucky enough to catch one truly magnificent sunset there, and one of not such resplendent nature, though whether you will is of course a roll of the dice like it is with everyone. I cannot begin to fathom the arrogance of some of these truly cretinous reviews bemoaning the presence of dogs or the quality of sand.. take it up with the pack leader and the epochs it takes to tidally erode quartz and feldspar, I’m sure it will be taken into consideration. The beach was relatively clean, though like every one the world over, it does bear the stamp of the careless and inconsiderate who seem to lack the capacity and opposable digits to identify and make use of a bin. Just a short walk or tuk tuk from walking street will get you there.

Less ppl than North point still less aesthetic, there’s garbage boat and wastewater releasing around the area.
