Bangtao has the longest beach in Phuket, approximately 5 km in length. The water is clear, the sand is whiter than Nai Thon beach. It’s a very beautiful one. Love it.

This is a long stretch of Beach and it's fairly underdeveloped and it's nothing special. I've been spoiled with beautiful beaches in Australia side of this beach is okay but certainly not up to some of the Australian beaches. It's Pleasant to watch the sunset but otherwise it's just a beach

If you don’t like crowd and don’t won’t to be bothered by drink sellers. Take a towel and come here. Simply put your towel on a small slope of the beach and lay yourself down for tanning!

Awesome beach, great location. Slow and quiet when we were there. Nice market there every Thursday to get some food.

Bangtao Beach spans 6 km in length, making it one of Phuket's longest beaches, halfway between Phuket airport and Patong Beach on the island’s west coast and part of the Cherngtalay area. With such a beautiful stretch of sand, it’s no surprise why Bangtao has become the home of some of the largest and most luxurious resorts on the island, such as Banyan Tree Resort, Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, Angsana Phuket Resort, and SAii Laguna Phuket Resort. Bangtao is also where you can find dozens of local restaurants and beach clubs right on the beach and eat or drink with your feet in the sand. For the most part, it's pretty deserted – hotels mostly occupy its southern end, while the northern end is generally very quiet and peaceful. Only a few small beach bars are dotted along its length. The sea is flat, calm and clear from November to April. The waves can get a little rough between May and October, so take note of red flags on the coastline. Bangtao Beach attracts those looking to leave everything behind and do nothing more taxing than reading a book. The exception to this rule is if you're at the southern end of the beach. There are several beachfront hotels and beach clubs, resulting in a very lively atmosphere in the evening. However, Bangtao remains one of the most family-friendly beaches in Phuket. In front of the Laguna hotels, local beach shacks sell everything from snacks and drinks to beachwear and tours. Note that Bangtao Beach doesn't have public toilets.

Brilliant beach, would rate 9/10. Lovely white sand surrounded by palm trees, a true tropical paradise. Plenty of beach bars lining the beach where you can enjoy a drink, food and hire sunbeds for very modest prices. The sea is about waist height (I'm 5"6') for about 30 feet before getting to swimming depth. Waves are variable, out of the 3 days I've visited they have been calm, but one day was rather rough (was following the blue moon on 30/08/23, which may have affected the tide). Just check for the fed flags and ensure you don't swim in between them. If not a strong swimmer, or have children, take extra caution. All in all though, it's a lovely beach, I'd recommend Maya beach club for music, Aloma for sunbeds and drinks or Golden fish for lovely seafood.

Nice quiet beach. Lots of areas with shadow. Nowadays looks a bit sad and sloppy, big area with boats at the entrance, sand is not that silky because of the conifers that surround the area. There are places to eat or drink something

A Serene Beach Escape Away from the Crowds! Discover the beauty of this secluded beach, a hidden gem in a less-explored tourist destination. With its tranquil shores, you'll find it refreshingly uncrowded, attracting mainly locals and expats seeking a peaceful retreat. The charming and welcoming beach sellers add a delightful touch to the experience, making it a fantastic place for a laid-back hangout.

Beautiful and quiet beach with white sand and blue clear waters. Very chill atmosphere and not busy, which was great. It is located 30 minutes by car from Patong area. There are many options to rent a sun bed and umbrella and enjoy the relax vibe of this 5 km long beach nicely integrated with nature. Plenty of options for food and drinks at reasonable rates as well. For a lunch we paid 850 BHT (we had shrimp fried rice, shrimps with vegetables and 2 fresh juices) and got access to the sun beds and umbrella.

One of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket. The waves are big but the water was not deep. Extremely picturesque and worth waiting for the sunset. Sat for many hours just enjoying the sea breeze and taking in the beautiful sights

I had the pleasure of visiting Bang Thao Beach with my family in January 2022, and it was an experience we will cherish forever. Tucked away on the west coast of Phuket Island, this half-moon-shaped beach stretches 8km, making it one of the longest beaches on the island. The first thing you notice is the soft white sand underfoot, a perfect contrast to the lush green trees that envelope the beach. What makes this beach stand out is its tranquillity. Unlike the other more crowded and noisy beaches in Phuket, Bang Thao is a sanctuary of calm. The absence of sunbeds, umbrellas, jet skis, and pushy sellers made our visit relaxing and allowed us to appreciate the natural beauty of the surroundings. The beach is all about finding your zen moment, which we indeed did, immersed in the serene atmosphere with the soothing sound of waves as a backdrop. Yet, this peaceful haven does not compromise on comfort and convenience. It is located within proximity to some of the best hotels, restaurants, and cafes in Phuket, ensuring our stay was as comfortable as it was tranquil. Bang Thao Beach is a true gem that offers a unique, peaceful beach experience without giving up modern comforts. It is a must-visit destination for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle and indulge in some well-deserved peace and relaxation. Highly recommended!

A nice beach in Phuket and not so crowded. Also, I went to Kamala Beach, Bang Tao Beach is much nicer and less crowded.

Definitely one of the better beaches in Phuket. I visited in low season so not many tourist around. It is one of the longest stretch of beach in Phuket. South side has some more entertainment. Mid section is called laguna beach and has more holiday homes behind it. North part is my favorite, laguna beach towards Sirinat park is beautiful and more quiet. Some underdeveloped Thai food places cater for your needs and you can easily park your car under the trees and just chill. The waves are bit lower here aswel. Water doesn't retreat as much at low tide as some other beaches in Phuket, so not revealing rocky bottom.

Amazing place for a sunset. I believe I found the greatest itinerary if you have an evening flight out of phuket Airport. After our stay in phuket for the weekend we left our hotel around 1pm and went to an elephant sanctuary, this took about 3 hours including drive time and with our flight departing at 9pm we decided it would be a great thing to go here and watch the sunset and have some yummy drinks! It was one for the books!

There are numerous beautiful beaches along this stretch of coast, some unspoilt and others with a lot of restaurants and bars but it's not a rowdy area, but more upmarket than some others areas of Phuket. Expect to pay UK prices in Phuket. Beer price similar to UK but wine is about double the UK price. This area is very popular with Russian visitors. No issues encountered.

A little crowded but calm & serene. I went just before the rain came and found a big wave with a sea breeze. Fantastic beach near Laguna, There are star-quality resorts on the batch.

The beach is quite, chill and less people. There are some trees there and good to rest there under the hot sun. I prefer this beach compare with others in Phuket.

Perfect for a long beach stroll. Not much different to Kamala Beach... Kamala is actually cleaner. Lots of waves when we were there that may have stirred up all the rubbish. Gets a bit better in front of some cafes that help clean the beach. Lots of tree swings and bars/restaurants along the way offering shade and seating.

In parts, its beautiful, but walk a few 100 metres and its a shameful disaster for nature. Thailand needs to tidy up urgently before it puts tourists off.

Amazing! Really enjoyed being here. You got some restaurants nearby.

Nice stretch of sandy beach but highly poluted, which was really disappointing. Plastic bottles, bag's and rubbish line the shoreline. All the small restaurants in Bangtao are TOURIST THAI FOOD and lack any authenticity, which was also really disappointing. The time we were there, the skyline was also very polluted, and you could not see far due to the haze of pollution. The location is nice.

One of my favorite beaches it's very long for running and not terribly crowded it's still a bit underdeveloped which is fine some of the restaurants look to be hole in the wall types but have very good food at reasonable prices

Beautiful long beach with few people so plenty of space to relax and chill. There are areas where you can get drinks and food but not cheap. The waves can get quite big which is great fun especially if you have a belly board. Well worth a visit if you want a quieter place to soak up the sun 🌞

Fantastic beach when there’s waves! Otherwise there’s small jellyfish or little things that may bite you when the sea isn’t moving!
