It’s in town. Clean and clam area, But always busy hotel, Reasonable prices, Bakery items also there . Servants are good 👍. I went many times. The place is good to eat.

It is a busy place at all the day time and night time. Biriyani was tasty and there may be natural spices were added. Vegetarian / chicken / beef biriyani was there to dine in or takeaway . And also there were fried rice menu, short eats and parata. Prices also acceptable . We ordered a full chicken biriyani and it was enough for the two people .

Delicious food, generous portions, friendly service. All the mains and snacks are also available for takeaway at the roadside section downstairs. A large and spacious dining hall on the first floor. Gets really busy during peak hours. Some of the food items in the menu are indigenous local Muslim cuisine and are rarely available elsewhere. The normal biriyani portion is sufficient for two. Rice is provided 'all you can eat' for biriyani. Lassi tastes best without added ice. All beef dishes are made to the perfection. Conviniently located at the city center near the Kandy Clock Tower built by Haji Mohamed Ismail in 1950. The restaurant itself is more than a decade old and is one of few eateries in Kandy where you'll find authentic multi cuisine food at reasonable prices. It was a pleasure dining in and is highly recommended for all tourists as well as locals.

After many years I have return to try some of those favourites in this restaurant, very much disappointed. I want add this is as a current political and economical situation but place itself falli g apart and losing its credibility. Ordered Buriyaani and fried rice, but buriyaani isn't buriyaani but just fragrance Spiced rice, fried rice too salty very imbalanced flavour. Very much disappointed. Table service was horrible and the guy struggling to serve us and answered very worrying, yet I had tipped him, as the current economic situation, but not for his service. This is for the owners of the restaurant. This place has a history and pride serving million of people, with greate food. Make sure to bring this pride back.

We Ordered Chicken Cheese Kottu, because most of the Kandian people said this hotel was superb for the Cheese Kottu. But it was a horrible and just ordinary Kottu. Not even cheesy mixed well with milk. They Just put on the Cheese triangle inside the Kottu. Small pieces of chicken inside the kottu, Not a spicy and taste at all. We spend Rs.1050 for this Chicken Cheese Kottu was not worth it for money in this kind of situation in the Country. Tables and floor are was not cleaned, and there were waiters more than the customers. Firewood smoke was all over the restaurant we cannot stay comfortably and enjoy the meals that we ordered. There was Good recommendation reviews few years ago but not currently. we also not recommended.

It's been my first time in Kandy and I asked a local for a restaurant recommendation to try local food and I went for it. I loved the dishes I tried. Quick service and the staff are really nice. Affordable prices. I Might come back before I leave!

Very poor customer service ! I request a beef Kabul from there down stairs cafeteria and the waiter told that it might take time therefore go to the upstairs. When I ordered same from upstairs the upstairs waiter asked me to go to downstairs. I have complained the cashier/ area manager this regards. If you are too lazy to surve some of the dishes mentioned in the so called menue please remove them from menue or do not hire lazy waiters. Poor customer service. Do not recommend.

Very authentic Muslim Sri Lankan food. Prompt and friendly service, and the staff is very willing to explain their local dishes. We love the kotthu! Will definitely return again for the large portions at affordable prices.

Tried out this local restaurant for the first time. We liked the food very much especially Chicken Palandi.

This was the very first time I tried out this restaurant located in Dalada Weediya, Kandy. We really enjoyed their Chicken Koththu, Chicken Palandi & Egg Parata. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The restaurant offers simple Sri Lankan food, the place is filled with locals which is always a good sign. Ordered the Kottu Chicken Masala with cheese and it was absolutely delicious (AND spicy). Don't know why the rating is under 4 stars, definitely deserve more. I definitely recommend, this is a must-do.

This place has been in business for a very long time and can get busy specially during the lunch time. There were many waiters on duty so the service was very fast. Tables were cleaned instantly after a customer left. Tried the chicken biryani. Price was okay but it lacked the flavours and spices of a proper biryani.

My bf and I ordered 1/4 chicken biryani and chicken and cheese Kabul. The biryani was cold, the chicken was also cold and dry. However, the kabul was good as it was freshly made. The staff was attentive. My advice is not to order biryani.

We had the beef biryani and beef paratha. Both were very good, particularly the paratha was outstanding. The staff were friendly and the restaurant had a nice local feel to it. I will visit again if I come to Kandy in the future.

Good food, quick service, nothing fancy just nice kottu. It's very delicious, especially the one with cheese inside. Prices reasonable, good quality/value ratio. Quite busy place, more suitable for quick meal rather than big dinning.

Love the new chicken cheese wrap! Yummy, cheesy and very (warm) hot, and crispy wrap. Just delicious, especially after eating local food for too long.

This has been the best food since we have entered Sri Lanka 5 days ago. We eat the food so fast I only got a photo at the end. The chicken curry is made with pepper and cinnamon. Excellent. The man in the photo is either the owner or manager but he was very helpful. If you are concerned about hygiene bring the dentil and a tissue and clean the table first because the food is worth it.

Chicken Biryani was served cold. Would not recommend. Chicken and Cheese Kabul was okay.

I have lunch and dinner, after dinner ended up having the worst food poison. Hotel not clean and food is not hygienic.

We had a great family lunch here on our recent visit to Kandy. The food was tasty and the rice and chicken portion was generous. We also had tea and shorteats in late evening. That was also good and enjoyed the experience. Inshallah, next time we are in Kandy, we will definitely come again to try a different food here.

It's a must visit place if would like to taste local food. You must try chicken kothu which would be delicious.. You can find lot of foreigners here, the staff comes and greets you well. The hotel is always busy but your food get served very fast. Best part is they are quite affordable..

Fantastic spot with full flavored local cuisine. It's walking distance from the temple so very easy to stop in. We ordered a stuffed vegetable roti, curry, beef samosa and veggie kottu - all were fantastic!!

Had lunch at the upstairs restaurant after a quite while ago. Quite disappointed. This particular restaurant used to have a unique ambiance, fabulous food and great service. I'm afraid all that's gone. Service was very poor. We had "Dunthel bath" specialty dish. Very dry rice. Over fried piece of chicken. Little amount of veggies and small gravy dish that wouldn't be enough for one person let alone two in our party. Overall terrible experience. Would recommend not having Biryani or Fried Rice at the upstairs restaurant. The downstairs restaurant and Caffe is much better. Have Kottu, Egg roti or Short-eats there!

Muslim hotel Kandy,one of the oldest restaurant in Kandy visited many times since I love the spicy taste and the service they provide on me.Have seen many foreigners because of the quality of the foods.But,in some instances,very rarely the taste not upto the standard.They should maintain the quality.Biriyani and the kothtu is excellent and has many variations.Staff also good and clean.
