As a foreigner, expect to get scammed at every opportunity. Sold me a gemstone for 5x of what it is worth. When I came for a return they tried to keep 30% of the amount as a "transaction" fee. I fully expected to pay a premium as a tourist but this goes to far.

While the origin of the stone itself is not inherently problematic, the lack of disclosure regarding its nature has raised concerns. Upon presenting the accompanying certificate, the seller provided us with another stone, claiming it to be a natural white Sri Lankan sapphire. Further investigation revealed that the substituted stone was not a sapphire at all. After a thorough assessment, a resolution was reached where partial reimbursement was provided, and the lab-created sapphire was obtained. We remain uncertain whether this situation arose from an attempt to deceive or from a lack of knowledge about the products being offered. We strongly advise anyone seeking to purchase gemstones to exercise caution and have them assessed by a certified professional before making a decision. Transparency and professional verification are essential in ensuring a satisfactory and trustworthy gemstone purchasing experience.
