Very lovely park for tent camping and day visits. The beach is smallish but well situated, the closer you are to the dog beach the rockier it gets on the beach and in the water. The picnic areas for day use are nice too. Beware the loos at the beach and between the cottage and the non electric camping site, they are not as nice as the others.

Great place, clean lake with limited bugs pestering you... no black fly, few mosquitoes as westerly breeze is a challenge for them.

Great fresh water fishing. Lots of open water to enjoy. The lake is the highest point of the Trent-Severn Waterway. The waterway descends to Georgian Bay in the northwest, and to Lake Ontario in the southeast. It is the highest point to which a vessel can be navigated from sea level in the Great Lakes-Saint Lawrence River drainage basin. The wonderful town of Coboconk is located on the north side of the lake. Docks right in town to explore and grab a bite. Balsam Lake Provincial Park is also located on the lake.

Love this Kawartha lakes gem! Fishing was slow the week we were there, but still lots to do! There's a sand bar you can boat to and hang out, or the provincial park has a great beach too. Lots of little towns in the area and lots of restaurants, lcbo, beer store etc.

By far my favourite Provincial Park...I think its because we got a waterfront site! Had the perfect weather too. Comfort station in Oak Campsite was well cleaned. Pet Beaches a little far and small, area could be closer and bigger. Boat launch was well organized, made me want to have a boat. Wish the rentals were available on weekends in Sept too.

Great place to ice fish during the winter season. Recommend renting Budd's place as it's just the right size with the perfect location beside the water

Amazing place. we visited July 8-9, group of around 20 people and 5 camp sites. We booked this in February as the group was a big one and we wanted multiple sites, side by side. We did Balsam Lake last year as well (single-site) and we decided to come back again then itself. A very well maintained campground. Campfires were not allowed due to ban in Ontario due to fire. We still saw few people breaking that rule, when we were out for a walk. Beach was great as well, nice and calm water. Canoe rental was about $50 for 4 hours. As the rental sell out quickly, booking has to be done in advance (in person - in the morning). Picnic area was good, where we did our lunch. Only issue we had is, finding the site, so the markings and maps could have been a better.

pretty spacious campsite. had to maneuver a bit through overgrown grass and bushes to get to our outlets. one of the bathrooms was also quite infested with insects, moths mostly. the fire pit had a grill top which we'd put aluminum foil over since we'd forgotten to bring one. they also had a beach but it was super crowded. overall, a pretty decent first camping trip!

Great place to camp. Depends what campground you pick tho. Some of them are very close together without privacy. Best thing to do is go for a weekend and then drive around with the map to diffrent campsites and circle campgrounds that you like. Very clean and the fishing was good as well.
