Excellent location to dine by the sea. They have a good range of delicacies spread across their menu. Hospitable staff provides a friendly service, but they need to improve on their attentiveness and efficiency in terms of order preparation. The quality of food is excellent, with decent portion sizes. They also serve a wide range of beverages including all types of alcohol. On an overall note, this could be said as one of the best restaurants in the area.

Went to Loon Tao in an evening after two years. Main issue was the unhygienic condition due to an army of flies in the restaurant. At the end there were flies inside the drinks too. Only solution they provided was a small fan which didn't help the situation. When asked to talk to a manager he wasn't available and chef refused to even talk to us saying "this isn't an issue about the food". They should close the place during the day time if they cannot maintain safe hygienic environment in their premises.

We had a team dinner here and the service was great, very attentive and helpful. Food was good, but service was great. I can recommend this place.

Food is not tasty as before and not worth for the money. We only ordered sizzling jumbo prawns around 1890+ and what they serve is plate with 2 prawns head pieces which cannot eat and 2 complete prawns. Also food serving is very late and we waited over 45 minutes to give our first order. I have been many time to this place and day by day they are reducing standards and quality. I have to think twice for my next visit.

This is a beach restaurant focused on Chinese cuisine. Food and service is commendable and place is very clean. Food is mostly spicy and saucy but bland in some areas. But i must say that the Set menus here are awful. Less flavor and potions are really bad. Specially the flavor the Loon Tao used to carry is not there anymore.

The staff was horrible. Manager was not supporting. Food was not tasty. Food: they offered very big portions for a low price. But quality was extremely bad. Food was undercooked 1.Raw seafood were in the rice 2.There was no chicken in chicken soup (when we asked they said ,it was made by the chicken stock only. 🤣🤣🤣 that was never communicated till we found out) 3. OMG The best part was "ordering the crab" from the menu 🤣🤣🤣 It took more than 2 hours to deliver the crab to the table. At that moment we have already finished our dinner,table was cleared. We had to wait more than 1hour after having other items. Specially this was ordered for a small kid who was loving to eat crab. The best part was not still there. When we got the bill, they have charged Rs. 3,000/- ++ only for crab. When we asked, they said the crab they cooked was around 500g 🤣🤣. It meant that if they cooked 1kg crab, we had to pay Rs.10,000/-. What a joke...They never got a confirmation from us for the weight of the item before they cooked. They had the price as Rs.790/- for 100g and funiest part was it stated as "Regular" . Near 200g, 250g is acceptable. But what we do with 500g crab? According to their behavior , it was noticed that they have ordered it from a different place. Finally we had to get the pack as a packet to have it on our way to the home. It was not tasty at all. This was totally unfair.while trying to keep the prices as low as poissible they had forgotten the quality of the food. Just imagine, chicken soup with no chicken? We could easily go for a street vendor for these type of food. But we bet street vendors do better than this. Really disappointed. Our total bill was around Rs. 8,000/- for a horrible night out.

One of the nicest restaurants by the beach to enjoy Chinese food. It is located on the Mount Lavinia beach which a gives a scenic view to the amazing meal. The food is also equally great. The staff is well informed and know indepth about the menu and what to recommend. If you want to enjoy great Chinese food on the beach, this is the place to goto.

Very poor service and they think they pay foods. Wait over 45 minutes to get the menu card and order foods another 30 minutes more to serve foods. Tables are not clean but only location is good due to beach and sea view. Never recommend.

Loon tao is chinees seafood restaurant with the sea view located in college avenue mount lavinia. Not so much crowd in the restaurant but the food and all is good. Very helpful and friendly staff working there. Nice place to friendly gatherings and dates and for have a chill beer with sea view. We ordered sex on the beach cocktail and corona extra beer. Cocktail price is bit high but the taste is good with vodka and peach rum and all. Also ordered hot butter cuttlefish which the price is bit high with good taste and nice present. Chicken and mushroom noodle is in great taste, small potion is enough for two people. Overall the restaurant is good. Recommended!!!

Went there for a dinner out and had a good time. It was a poya day so the restaurant wasn't busy at all, there were only two more groups besides us. We have ordered from loon Tao from Uber eats and we knew they serve delicious dishes. As expected they did not disappoint and there portion size was quite generous too. We took chicken sizzling dish and seafood hot pot with noodles. Both are small portions, sizzling dish was really good and spicy. The hotpot was okay it lacks the spiciness so we mixed the two. On the day we went there wasn't any hot drinks available so we went for a virgin mojito. Staff is really good. They wipes the table with sanitizer before and after.

Loon Tao is a Chinese seafood restaurant located on Mount Lavinia. The restaurant is not very crowded, but the food and everything are good. Very friendly staff who work there. A great place for dates with partner and a cool beer with sea views. (We have to take the beer) Chicken fried rice small size is enough for two people. In general, the restaurant is good. Recommended !!!

A restaurant facing the beach.... Outside and inside seating available. have to walk on the bech to reach the location. Food is fairly fine but not the best.. prices are bit towards the premium side. One may need to take a little effort to chase away the flies that gather when food is on the table... Felt that the options were limited as the offered suggestions. All in all good place to hang around...

Food was excellent. Ambiance was not that good but couldn't complain because of the economic conditions which the country is undergoing now. Service was also good and fast. It is sad to see that very little amount of people were there on a Saturday. Hope things will improve soon.
