Our visit to Creek Street couldn't been more perfect timing. Chilly and drizzling but the walk along creek was fabulous. Stream filled with tons of Salmon swimming upsteam, dozens of Harbour Seals trying to catch them and a great little restaurant with creek view and fresh seafood. This was the old Brothel area in the Klondike days so history was fascinating.

My favorite port while in Alaska on our cruise, very walkable, food was amazing. We also enjoyed the 90 minute trolley tour of the town.

Always worth a visit to Creek Street! So many nice shops to explore along the creek. You never know what you might find. Coffee, antler chews, soap, cards, hand made gifts... Easy walk from the closest cruise pier too! Great photo opportunities along the water. You might just be lucky to see the Salmon jumping! There is even a dispensary near by, The Stoney Moose!

Interesting part of town that used to be the red light district. The creek is literally the street that runs between the businesses. Now there are vendors and artists along with the restaurant or two. It's very picturesque.

Some great shops selling all sorts of goods made by locals (not cheap imports). The street itself is very picturesque with some good places to eat whilst looking over the river. Close to the cruise ship docks, 5 mins walk.

A visit to Ketchikan wouldn't be complete without a stroll down Creek Street. There are some beautiful sights of the creek and the fascinating sight of the houses hanging over the water below, held in place by piers below. You can investigate the colorful houses, stores and bar that line sides all along the walkway. Then there are a couple of houses best known for the ladies of the night, which you can tour as well. This was a great little town to visit, we enjoyed and if you go you will too.

Lovely historical part of Ketchikan, not far from the cruise ship terminal in downtown. if your cruise ship is docked at Ward cove (there have free bus from the terminal to the city center). it's very quiet early in the morning, no crowds. Also there are a lot of tourist souvenir shops.

Great historical area of town with outdoor shops ,,,,views of the river and colorful houses . One of the best parts of our visit to area. Good restaurants downtown but a little pricier for fresh food than I expected.

Nice little area with a stream. We didn't see any salmon. A few restaurants nearby. It didn't smell too great when we went, many dead salmon on the rocks. A little fowl.

Beautiful and iconic street with a lot of cute locals shops! Great for pictures and shopping. Definitely recommend stopping by when you're in the area! Note, it can get a little busy because it's a tourist town / tourist trap, but it's not too bad overall.

A little piece of “old Alaska”, Creek Street is such a cool place in Ketchikan! It’s absolutely worth going to because it’s filled with great architecture, history, and awesome stores! You can imagine how rough and rowdy the clientele of Ketchikan were many years ago when Alaska was more mining and fishing (not tourism), and this would’ve been one of the many areas these people frequented…especially Dolly’s House! When we visited, we were lucky enough to watch an eagle try and catch a salmon in the river alongside Creek Street, and there were tons of really cute shops all down the street! Ketchikan is my personal favorite town in southeastern Alaska (way more than Juneau) - this attraction is one of the many reasons why!

"Creek Street" in Ketchikan, Alaska, is not just a place; it's an experience that transports visitors back in time to the heyday of the city's historic red-light district. Nestled along the shores of Ketchikan Creek, this charming boardwalk, built on stilts over the water, has evolved from a rowdy brothel hub to a lively tourist destination. The heart of Creek Street is a vibrant mix of quirky shops, art galleries, and boutiques that showcase local crafts and Alaskan culture. It's a haven for souvenir hunters, offering everything from handcrafted jewelry to intricate wood carvings. The Creek Street Market is a highlight, where you can find unique treasures while soaking in the picturesque surroundings. One of the most iconic features of Creek Street is its wooden buildings that line the boardwalk. The "Dolly's House Museum" is a must-visit, preserving the ambiance of the area's colorful past. You can step into the life of Dolly Arthur, a famous madam, and gain insight into the history of this once-illicit district. Wildlife enthusiasts will delight in the opportunity to spot salmon swimming upstream in Ketchikan Creek. During the salmon run, Creek Street becomes a natural spectacle as the fish navigate their way through the clear waters, attracting bald eagles and black bears looking for a meal. Creek Street is not just about history and shopping; it's also a place to savor fresh Alaskan seafood. Many restaurants along the boardwalk offer mouthwatering dishes featuring salmon, halibut, and king crab. Enjoying a meal while overlooking the creek's serene waters is an unforgettable experience. In conclusion, Creek Street in Ketchikan is a captivating blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Whether you're a history buff, a shopper, or simply seeking a taste of authentic Alaska, this charming boardwalk has something to offer everyone. It's a must-visit destination that allows you to step back in time and immerse yourself in the unique charm of Ketchikan's past and present.

Great place to see the salmon run and just go for a walk. Lot of little shops to stop at and get a souvenir or restaurants to get a bite. We went during early August and the weather was perfect! Hopefully you can get there before the crowds from the cruise ships, but if not I’m sure it’s still worth seeing.

You cant miss this place when you visit Ketchikan.... The salmon spawn up this creek and you see them swim up the creek. Quite spectacular.. There was a Seal swimming around in between the shops feasting on the Salmon.. I love the shops they have cool souvenirs and the locals that run the different shops are quite nice and ready to share a story or two about the place... The shops also have high end souvenirs of quality.. Depending on what cruise ship your on depends if you find this place. At the dock go right and then when you get to the end head for the hills and you'll hit this place.

It's fine. It's literally only gift shops, but I did see two seals in the canal catching fish. Also in August it was full of salmon. Charming in the beginning of August, disgusting by the end as their lifecycle ends and the water smells bad.

Fun place to visit except for all the cruise ships that dropped the thousands of people off at around the same time. Would of been a fun place to explore without it being over crowded.

Such a beautiful, unique street. It was so much fun to walk through. All of the store owners were so friendly and helpful even if you didn't purchase anything. The salmon were spawning in the river and you could see their bright eggs. There was a seal trying to catch some salmon. It was fun to watch. Such a lovely walk.

Beautiful place and an even better history. The different stores were super cute to walk into and buy souvenirs. There was a salmon shop to ship fresh salmon to your home. The creek was peaceful and lots of koi fish swimming around. Definitely a great place to hang out.

Creek Street District in Ketchikan. Nice historical area with shops on both sides of the river. Hiking trails with clear signs.

Creek Street was nice. Took the path along the mountain side and did some shopping as well. We were even lucky to see a seal with a huge salmon in his mouth. Nature at its best. The town was so nice but our ship didn't stay long enough to enjoy more of it. We were a bit rushed. (I feel)

You can’t visit Ketchikan without taking a stroll down Creek Street. It’s a one of a kind walk over/around the creek with some fun and quaint shops along the way. The walk ways are a little narrow but definitely interesting to experience.

Yes, we did an early pup crawl and found a wonderful spot to see salmon and 🦭 in the creek too! Just a wonderful tour and information on plaques along the way as well about the pioneers and early settlers of Creek Street. We recommend swinging by if you come in on a ship as it's very close to the docks, and leads right to the salmon walk, which is also a pretty good time.

We were in Ketchikan port for the day and this is a must visit to stroll around & go to the stores. There is so much history and we visited Dolly’s House Museum. We saw a guy catching a big salmon which was exciting. We also spotted a cute seal swimming in the river. It’s a beautiful, quaint area to stroll around.

Nice place to have a walk, plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy even though there's 3 cruise ships were stop at this port at the same time but doesn't actually feel too crowded. Beautiful setting and rich of history.

Almost like a Hollywood movie set - it’s unreal but this century old heritage area is truly pretty and picturesque, it makes it a must-visit in Alaska! In spite of the drizzle and cloudy skies, the quaint timber houses and cabins pop out in the brightest colours possible making the area so photogenic. The wildlife in the remarkably clean river is astounding. Where else in the world can you see seals catching live salmon in the middle of town? The shops offer some very nice craft items and local art work aside from the usual touristy merchandise. This attraction is not very big and so can get rather crowded especially when multiple cruise ships dock simultaneously. Go early!

"I stumbled upon Creek Street while exploring the neighborhood, and what a delightful find it turned out to be! This cozy little restaurant tucked away in a serene corner had such a welcoming ambiance. The rustic decor and the view of the nearby creek created a charming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food - WOW! The menu boasted a variety of dishes, and each one was a flavor explosion in my mouth. From the mouthwatering starters to the delectable main courses, every bite was a treat. I highly recommend trying their signature dish; it was simply divine. Creek Street is undoubtedly a must-visit for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience!"

Your typical cruise-town touron trap -- but everyone is very friendly, and there's zero pressure to buy anything -- even if you're trying whatever free stuff they're giving away (salmon on crackers, confections, popcorn, you name it, they're handing out free tastes everywhere). With no pressure to buy, it's fun just to walk around and try things out. (And, of course, we made purchases, too....)
