A museum in beautiful house with a byzantine post-byzantine icons collection. Some of the paintings are very interesting. The staff is very friendly and it's admission is free So if you are near why not give it a visit

The house was beautiful. Entrance is free as of January 2023. When we went, the museum was open from 8:30-3:30. Closed on Tuesdays. A tour guide takes you from room to room explaining the highlights of the the museum collection and architecture. Excellent experience but most of all, it was free!

Μη σας ξενίσουν τα σχετικά λίγα εκθέματα στους δυο πρώτους ορόφους του κυρίως κτηρίου, υπάρχουν κι άλλες αίθουσες που αναπτύσσονται γύρω από την εσωτερική αυλή σε μια διαδρομή γεμάτη πόρτες και μικρές σκάλες, οπότε εδώ χρειάζεται λίγη εγρήγορση για να μην χάσετε κάποια εκθέματα. Συνολικά είναι μια υπέροχη εμπειρία, δεν ξέρεις τι να πρωτοθαυμάσεις. Την υψηλότατη ποιότητα της συλλογής Λοβέρδου ή την υποδειγματική αποκατάσταση του ίδιου του κτηρίου? Μου φαίνεται σχεδόν απίστευτο, γνωρίζοντας την τραγική κατάσταση που βρισκόταν πριν. Αξίζουν πολλά συγχαρητήρια για την προσπάθεια, η έκθεση είναι άψογα δομημένη, η είσοδος δωρεάν, οι υπάλληλοι φιλικότατοι, και επειδή είχα την τύχη να είμαι μόνος στο μουσείο, η εμπειρία έγινε ακόμα καλύτερη. Φυσικά υπάρχει κι εδώ θέμα με το ωράριο. Δεν ξέρω τι και πώς ακριβώς το σκέφτονται τα Αθηναϊκά μουσεία και τα περισσότερα δουλεύουν 8:30-15:30. Αυτές οι ώρες είναι καλές για φοιτητές, συνταξιούχους, τουρίστες, αλλά όχι για τον πολύ, εργαζόμενο κόσμο. Πρέπει για έστω και μία ημέρα την εβδομάδα να μετακινήσουν ή να επιμηκύνουν το ωράριο σε πιο λογικές, απογευματινές/βραδινές ώρες. Να πάτε, είναι ένα κόσμημα για την πόλη και το συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα

Very nice museum of icons in a historic building. To visit outside the tourist circuits. You enter for free.

It's a peculiar old villa, which was abandoned and burned, in terrible condition, but underwent heavy restoration works to be brought back in all its former glory and beauty. Furthermore they host a permanent exposition on religious artworks from the 15th to the 20th century. Since it has free entrance, it's perfect even for just a quick visit!

I participated in a tour organised and run by Action Plus! It was 15 euro well spent. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the building and the architect who designed and lived in it until 1912. I thoroughly enjoyed the one and a half hour tour and highly recommend visiting the museum either solo or under the wing of an Action Plus representative.
