The Holy Church of Hagia Dynamis is a tiny single aisle Orthodox church that is remarkable by the fact that it is the only one in Athens that is surrounded by a much larger modern building. The Orthodox church refused to cede the land to the government of modern Greece when it tried to develop the neighborhood around the church. Not to be outdone, the government built a large structure around the church that had refused to be demolished.

Most amazing feeling of any church I've ever sat quietly in. Thank the Greeks for saving their churches as holy ground. This one is nestled under a modern office building. I dare say more important things happen here than in the offices. Don't miss it.

Very funny to see how modernising covers the history/religions.

A tiny church with a hotel built around it. The location is therefore unique.
