Wind, Mountains, and view of sunset are the words that describe my experience of echo point. While contrary to the name, I did not experience much of echoing sounds here. Place deserves a 5 star rating, however the tourists visiting the place are somehow tempted to litter alot, which you may see in my pics. I would request authorities to ensure stricter rules for cleaner visits and request my fellow travelers to use trash cans installed by authorities and keep this world beautiful place!

It’s fine but you get better views from other points more upfront close to have full valley view… too crowded for sure too… but still I got to see a beautiful sunset which was indeed good… closer to stays like barr house

It is situated in Matheran. It's called echo point, and as the name implies, if you shout any word, it will echo. It's a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. I have visited with my friends and we enjoyed a lot.

A petit hill station located on the mountains of the Sahyadri ranges; Matheran is the ideal place to visit for the love birds and nature lovers. The place is renowned for its natural beauty and spectacular scenery. One of the most magnificent peaks to visit in Matheran is Echo Point. Covered with lush green carpet and light weighted clouds, it is the perfect vantage point to view the mesmerising peaks of the western ghats, and also get delighted with the reverberations and echoes. And this is how the point gets its name as Echo point. Being perched at the top of the hill, it becomes the paradise for the adventure lovers by providing with the opportunities of dwelling into various adventure sport activities like rope climbing and zip lining. During monsoon, the chattering waterfalls making their way down the hills make for an enchanting sight to behold. This is why, the months from July to February is considered to be the best time to visit this place which is blessed with such precious nature’s treasure and spotless charm. And the small food stalls serving scrumptious Maharashtrian tid bits at a very reasonable price, is something that cannot be missed by the visitors. One can either walk or opt for a horseback to reach the Echo Point. The closest landmark will be the Matheran market, which is hardly 30 kilometers away.

The best time to visit this place is during monsoon. Try to visit early in the morning to get the best view. As you can see in the pictures, the view was breathtaking. The nature, the freshness. Must visit.

View is great from this place. For hearing the echo, you need to stand at the point where it's written 'echo point' and be loud and distinct. Echo might not be clear during monsoon, because of lush greenery, which absorbs the sound, but because of the greenery the view will be beautiful.

One of my favourite hill station points. So many things to say, however I would like to suggest visiting at least once to make you feel more and more time to visit. Note that Less rush in weekdays so less weight in your pocket. Amazing 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Very popular among kids and other age groups as well. The voice echoes due to the surrounding mountains and everyone enjoys it. Also, the greenery in all the directions of this point is pleasing to your eyes. There are a few food and refreshment joints who have also built selfie points. One can also see various historical forts and a big lake from this point. This is also an amazing place for photography as it can get you some nice shots.

Matheran near Mumbai has emerged as one of the most famous holiday destinations during the summer. Nestled in the Sahyadri ranges of Western Ghats, Matheran, located in the Raigad district, is an eco-sensitive region and is Asia's only automobile-free hill station.11 Jun 2023

We visited in hot sun and the echo was very faint. There is a beautiful view and it would be a delight after rainy seasons when the hill is covered with dense vegetation and there is greenery everywhere.

Be ready to walk into the winding pathways of Matheran to reach Echo point and the other points too. Yes, you can horse ride too. But you still have to walk. So use good shoes and not high heels here. Carry a bottle of water and something to eat on the way. See that eatables are far from the watchful monkeys. The view at every point is mind blowing, natural and worth a pic.

Known as the” cutest little hill station of India”, the Matheran hill station is the best place to enjoy the sunset and sunrise view along with some mind blowing sceneries to keep you fresh and up front. This extraordinary hill station offers the best tourist places in Matheran which are untouched and undisturbed by the rustling city life that surrounds the town. The place is actually located on the Western Ghats that ranges in an elevation of around 800 meter above the sea level. The place always has a pleasant weather to enjoy during any time of the year, but its beauty gets added up during the season of rain and thunderstorm.

Another best places to visit in Matheran is the Echo Point. Just to the left of the Charlotte Lake there is another spot with an amazing view of the valleys Echo Point. As the name suggest this places is famous for the echoes which will hit back from the hills. Whether you are there with your friends or family don’t miss out to shout your name which will reiterate after you. Another interesting thing about this place is that the climate keeps on changing. This place is a hit among the people and is hugely crowded. Soothe your eyes with the profound beauty of the mountains as the clouds slowly pass by. If you are visiting the place during the monsoon season then you can enjoy a chimerical view of the waterfall profuse with rain water.

Matheran is good nature friendly please for family, authority charging ₹50/ head but they are not providing proper sign boards, they only providing a route map, but on the middile of the jungle route map is not working, specialy in 2,4 way roads. And not providing proper destbin system along the routes.

Beautiful point, infact the most popular ones. Expect crowd here as it is the nearest from Market. You can walk (not that difficult) or take horse rides. The view from 3 directions is magnificent. There’s also food (maggie/bhajji)and drinks available right at the point.

  • 4/5 Animesh D. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful point. Easy to reach as they have put clear directions on the way. A few fun activities available at the point. Food stalls also present. Best time to visit post monsoon, as you get clear view and also enjoy the sight of bed of flowers. But, the echo thing is not overwhelming.

Good experience specially the walk along the railway track and the train ride. The points are very beautiful. But it's too crowded and the roads towards the points were very bad.

Matheran a hill station place to visit with friends and family specially in monsoon if you are ready to trek in rainy day. Otherwise please go after rain in September or October to view lush greenery and waterfalls if available. Echo point is one the place to visit in matheran. You can se many waterfalls by standing at the point. Every seasons has differ views with same place. That’s i liked the most.

Beautiful place to visit at Matheran. One can sit and feel the cool breeze to relax. The food shops are available at this point. Horses are too available if you wish to hire. The lake view point is at 10 minute walk, Louisa point is at 20 minutes and sunset point around 30 minutes away from here.

But one shall take care of their children and eatables as there are a lot of monkeys here. Avoid going in afternoon as you will get direct sun.
