The middle palace (Opera House) was built in 1776-1778 according to the design of V. Bazhenov. Intended for theatrical performances and court entertainment of Catherine II. However, throughout its history the palace was not used in any way and by the 1980s it consisted only of outer walls, which, however, were well preserved. Restoration work began in 1988 and lasted 8 years.

Ambassadorial evenings are held at the Opera House in Tsaritsino. I attended an Argentine tango evening. I really liked it. The photo shows the interior of the Opera House. Very beautiful, small hall for about 150 people

Exhibition of sculptures with descriptions. The building is small, all the rooms are connected in a circle, it’s hard to miss something. Stunning chandeliers and lighting. If you remember Greek mythology, then everything is even more interesting to consider. Roosters require special attention. Fine work on the wings and poses. The sculpture was created for all-round viewing and looks alive. It seems that while you are not going around, they are really fighting desperately! In terms of time, it will take 45 minutes to look at everything, although you can run through it without reading and reviewing it in 15 minutes.

To my taste, this is the best exhibition in all of Tsaritsino. If you choose which tickets to buy, it is better to take this Middle Palace and the Great Palace, you can skip everything else. You can spend the whole day just walking around the territory and visiting these two palaces, but if you buy a full ticket to all places, you will have to run all day.

A short excursion to the opera house in Tsaritsyno Park, where most of the exhibitions from Ostankino were temporarily transported
