Absolute perfection, 5 stars, all around. This property and Sam and all the staff 100% made our time in Knysna total bliss. My husband and I stayed in the private villa - LOVED it. The views from Alkira are unreal. I think the most beautiful location of all, viewing all of Knysna during the day or under the moon light. (And still just a very short drive to town.) The food was out of this world. Fresh, local, inventive and endless! Sam has created such a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy evening cocktails, watch the sun set over the beach, cozy fires, great music…obviously I could go on and on about the perfection of Alkira. The villa was stocked with everything, loved the plunge pool, super clean, great linens, unreal view, loved all the fire place options, sadly never used an inch of the kitchen because the chef was way too incredible to pass up but it looked stocked with anything you could need. Alkira is a special special place, not to be missed. Thank you over and over for your hospitality Sam! AND Gordon! (Be sure to request Gordon’s sommelier expertise in the evenings - top shelf guy and very fun to chat with.) You will see us again Alkira! ❤️

We've had the most amazing stay at Alkira Lodge. We were a group of 18 and hosted a milestone birthday dinner party for my husband on the one evening. Alkira was just the most breathtakingly beautiful and perfect backdrop for this memorable occassion. Alkira's talented chef, Robyn prepared an outstanding 3-course gourmet meal and the lodge has all the necessary items and facilities to ensure special touches for an unforgettable and special celebration. An absolute indulgence. Without doubt probably one of the best places you can choose to have a holiday in the world. The views are spectacular with hospitality to match. A warning to other guests, you may not want to leave:)

Not sure you can top the views in Kysna and such great service! Felt at home with everything food, furniture etc. What topped the stay was all the activities Sam booked for us over 3 days. Well curated and just heightens the experience of being there. Truly great service.

Absolute perfection. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights on our honeymoon- everything about the lodge exceeded our expectations. The breakfast is what dreams are made of and Sam and the entire staff made us feel taken care of and at home. A night with drinks in the hot tub overlooking Knysna is not to be missed! 12/10

Alkira is a special place with good kind staff and very well managed by Sam . We had a fabulous time there for our 4 nights stay . On two nights we experienced the cooking delights of the talented chef Robyn . A not to be missed experience! Alkira is luxurious, with an unbelievable location and views that will leave you spellbound. With easy access to Knysna , the beach and all the nature of the garden route , this in one place you will not want to leave !

What an unbelievable place, set in heaven...with the gods and goddesses... Bedrooms are luxurious, lounge areas (of which there are so many), Vista views, endless decking options for sitting or sunbathing, pool, tub, several dining tables to choose from etc. Sam, Robyn, Primrose, Peter and rest of the team could not do more. You have to get Robyn to cook for you in the evening, like having a personal Gourmet Chef...exceptional food...great wine selection....we were lucky to have Robyn cook 2 evening meals. Breakfasts are also second to none. Final thank you to #Steadfast for finding the place We will be back for sure ❤️❤️

Wow wow wow! Alkira lodge exceeded ALL our expectations. We had our wedding weekend at Alkira lodge in January 2023. Sam and her team were absolutely incredible. They were friendly, professional, attentive, kind and all round just wonderful. Both our wedding guests and guests that stayed the weekend at the lodge, could not stop singing the staff’s praises. Every single one of Alkira’s fantastic staff had a smile on their face and completed every request with care and most importantly, a sense of humour. Sam personally served dishes at our wedding reception and the entire wedding ran absolutely seamlessly. Furthermore, the rooms were excellent, the views were to die for and the food was out of this world! Sam has something truly special in Alkira and my husband and I are already planning to return for our 5 year anniversary. :) So much love for this truly special place!

One of the best lodges/hotels that we have ever been.

Luxurious, spacious and beautiful decor with breath-taking views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay soaking up the sun and fresh clean air. Also loved easy access to hiking & cycling trails and the beach. Alkira Lodge is a very peaceful and special retreat.

Arguably my most scenic view from my room ever, over Knysna. Every moment was absolutely breathtaking. Staying at Alkira Private villa accentuates our unique South African hospitality and our picture perfect landscapes. Sam was a fantastic host and considering the current COVID hype I enjoyed the privacy and open spaces. Spoil yourself and stay a few nights at Alkira. You will be pleased you did it.

After spending a weekend at Alkira Lodge I have to say - you don’t get much better. The lodge is perfectly positioned to capture the sunrise while drinking a delicious cup of coffee (courtesy of the built in coffee machine) as well as being able to sit in the jacuzzi and watch the sun go down and the lights of Knysna come to life (Beware, you will spend more time in this jacuzzi than you maybe originally planned. Yes, it is that good.). The rooms are perfectly catered to, with every detail being thought of. Such a beautiful space to create memories with friends and family. Would definitely recommend Alkira Lodge!
