Good for Thai government hospital....inexpensive compared to private hospitals. Most doctors and nurses speak reasonable good English.... Start at booth 1 and fill out your data, you'll be directed to get blood pressure and other basic info... then proceed to the area (by number you are directed too) Many hospital services provided here....including a good Physio therapy unit. If non emergency treatment is required avoid Mondays and Friday mornings, if possible....although afternoons generally less busy. Closed for lunch between 12 noon and 1 pm. Although the doctors work with great efficiency of getting patients seen too. Emergency Dept open 24 hours... In case of snake bite (rare) this is the only hospital on Samui that has Antivenom. Pharmacy is very well stocked, however you must have a prescription from a doctor. They accept credit cards, with a 3% extra charge. In case of having to be admitted, there are General wards, semi private rooms (6 beds) or spacious private rooms with 1 bed, fridge, couch and TV... (additional charge of course). Great sea view too!

I had a medical emergency for an existing health condition while on holiday. Visited on a Sunday. Very impressed with the service and professionalism. Once I registered and they took my pressure and recognized it was an emergency, they rushed me straight into the Emergency ward and the doctor and nurses were with me in literally a minute. After treating me, they also kept me for observation for 2 hours to monitor my condition. Adequate English spoken by both medical staff and administrative staff. Nurses were kind and patient. Doctor took care to explain. The bill was extremely fair for the quality, extensiveness and speed of medical attention. I read mixed reviews before coming here and was initially hesitant to come to this government hospital (instead of one of the private hospitals on the island that cater more to tourists and insurance, with exorbitant price tags to match). I wanted to leave this review because my experience at Ko Samui Hospital was very positive and the price was very reasonable. If you are a visitor who needs medical attention while in Samui, don't hesitate to come to this hospital. Although the building and infrastructure may look a bit "old" and in need of some maintenance at the entrance, the service, medcial equipment, facilities (at least at the Emergency ward) and medical attention provided are as good and modern as any international hospital.

Test and Go 2nd PCR test - closes at 5pm, not 24 hours!

Appalling hospital. My son died there in the wake of a motorbike accident. No compassion, difficult to glean information (from the UK) about his condition. Cruel treatment. Beyond belief. The nurse in charge of him was brutal. Not all can be attributed to cultural differences. Beware, westerners....

As a foreigner - Do not go here. We went here because our 1 year old had high fever for some days and threw up. Not only did they not examine her, they also failed to measure her temperature exactly. We were sent away with some meds (which you could easily buy in a pharmacy) and that was it. Went to another doctor later and she was diagnosed with tonsillitis and got antibiotics.

I was unlucky and on the penultimate day of my onward journey by plane, I slipped after sport and sprained my foot badly. As my foot quickly became thick and blue, I decided to go to the hospital. I was a little unsure whether this was the right thing to do. It was the right thing to do. When I arrived at the accident and emergency department, a member of staff saw me limping into the reception. He immediately came with a wheelchair and asked me to sit down. He drove me to the reception where personal details were taken. When I had given everything, I was driven directly to the casualty department, where a casualty assistant nurse immediately took care of me. It was very busy. Accidental scooter tourists, construction workers with cuts and bruises, a child with poisoning and other people with some kind of injuries. But everything was calm and everyone was very friendly. Absolutely professional work. The nurses and doctors speak good English. I was examined, x-rayed and my foot was bandaged. All in all, it took less than 90 minutes, despite the crowds. Many a clinic in Germany could take an example from this, even though the hygienic conditions may be different here, there is friendliness, competence and safety. Thank you Koh Samui Hospital for your helpβ€οΈπŸ™

Staff who have no idea what they are talking about and change their minds every 2 minutes. Decisions are conflicting and make no logical sense, the staff have a computer says no mentality and its like talking to a brick wall. The rooms are filthy, the food is disgusting an inedible and this is suppose to be a place of "health" and you feel malnourished. If I could leave no stars I would.

very good hospital. do not listen to the bad farang reviews here. they expect high service for low price.. maybe they should go back to their country, where they also would not be able to afford decent healthcare rather than coming to thailand and complaining.

It's a joke. I did have an appointment, had to wait over 2 hrs only have the doctor tell me in two minutes, the antibiotics the doctor described me when I first came in didn't work and I have to take different ones and the ones I took were for nothing. Amazing. (I told him in the beginning what I most likely have and actually had, so I feel he should have considered that and given me any antibiotic this certain bacteria is not resistent towards). Doctor's fee is reasonable (300 bath + 180 service fee - unclear for what they charge a service fee, as I even had to measure my own blood pressure, but ok) If you have insurance or money I'd highly recommend going to a private hospital. EDIT: even though they did a biopsy and I took two different kinds of antibiotics, the (staph) infection is back.. so seems like they really don't know what they are doing.

I recently visited the hospital for treatment of a scratched wound from a motorbike accident. The doctor who treated me appeared uninterested in my well-being and showed a lack of professionalism by not even looking at me while typing away on the computer screen. I felt like I was being treated like just another patient, and the staff's communication skills left a lot to be desired. It was disappointing to see the hospital not living up to the standards I would expect. I hope that they can improve their service in the future, so that patients can feel more comfortable and well-cared for during their visits.

The doctors and nurses are fine. However, If you get a large bill and your insurance won't cover, expect the customer service for foreigners to be rude and aggressive.

I can't believe how rude a person can be. We called them to ask about PRC test and they told us we can go there whenever between 9 a.m - 2 p.m, no need appointment. We were there at 11:30 a.m and waited. Then they just told us need to come back at 1 p.m because they closed. The old nurse is so rude at the reception. She just said we come back later and even jumped into my mouth, didn't let us say anything then just go away. OMG so what the point for us to call them before then go there at time and they closed?

We did a PCR test for 2200 baht per person. Testing went okay, we had to wait for their lunch break around 12-13 which was fine. This morning we received our results and both had mistakes in them: passport document number was wrong and my birth date. Costly mistakes since we are taking a flight tomorrow, if you test here make sure they write the correct information.

Very bad experience whilst detained due to the global pandemic. Was hit with an extortionate bill and when I couldn't pay they detained my passport and threatened to have me deported.

The worse hospital I have seen in my life. I bring my wife from KhoTao island To Samui hospital. It's all wasted our money for tickets. No things happened. We had been seating 3 hours after I been there to ask why our names is not on the list . A nurse answer there are not Doctor.

Nice nursing staff but not able to obtain first aid bandages etc. All could be done but simply speaking to the chemist was all that was needed, great taxi ride though

I was really pleased to be able to do a walk-in and get a Pfizer booster free of charge. What they told me by email is - "We provide Pfizer, AstraZeneca and sinovac vaccination at a hospital. Please prepare 1 copies passport and vaccine certificate. - Room9 during Mon, Thu and Fri Service hours 13.00 - 15.00. - Room 25 during Tue and Wen. Service hours: 9.00 - 11.00, 13.00 - 15.00. Close public holiday." However on arrival it was Pfizer only. I didn't need passport or vaccine certificate copies, I just showed them my pink card and Mor Prom app and it was good enough. Also, don't go straight to the rooms mentioned above. You need to start at reception and fill in a form, otherwise they will send you back again. It's now close to a week later and my Mor Prom app hasn't updated with the details of this booster, but since my purpose was mainly protection I'm not too bothered about that. EDIT: My Mor Prom app was updated around 3 weeks after the event. So all good in the end and I’m bumping this review up to five stars

Hospital in bad condition, overcrowded. Waiting more than 2hours, for my daughter who get fever more than 72h already, coughing and vomiting. Finally at the end the 2hrs waiting they told us to come back in 2hrs i supposed after their lunch break. What a joke. If you have emergency don't go there for sure. Unhelpful & useless.
