This is a beautiful hotel, surrounded by lush greenery. Before i go into details I want to give one disclaimer - if you are looking for a beach vacation, this is not an ideal option. Otherwise it's serene! Pluses: - Hotel territory - absolutely beautiful with all the greenery around - trees, flowers.. All well maintained and make you happy just strolling around - Very friendly and helpful staff, we enjoyed all interactions with hotel staff during our stay - Rooms were well equipped and very comfortable, we had everything we needed - Good restaurant selection - you have amazing views on the water from all of the restaurants/bars, and a good selection of meal options. We enjoyed the beach bar for our coffee breaks, breakfast restaurant had quite good food diversity, the bar in the midst of the hotel area has beautiful "huts" where you can sit and absolutely beautiful design/views plus nice cocktail selection (I believe they have live music there sometimes), and the tree tops fine dining restaurant was just *chef's kiss* and is a very special place for us as we got engaged there.. I very rarely come across hotels where I enjoy so many restaurants under one hotel roof Minuses: - Some rooms (including ours) had a balcony facing a white wall, not the best view... If the hotel added a greenery wall around the balcony it would create a cozy feeling, otherwise it's not so nice to sit outside - There is no proper beach - yes, you have sand and sun beds and it's great for a beach stroll, but you can't really swim there... As some other reviews mention you have to walk quite far to be able to actually swim, and there's a sand separator in the middle of water which makes it a nice fishing place, but unfortunately not a nice swimming place. Hence if you look for a very typical beach vacation another hotel might be a better fit. As we were not aiming for a beach vacation, and wanted to visit this hotel for the greenery, I am giving this hotel 5/5 regardless of some shortcomings.

I had an experience while at the pool that was THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have experienced!! When I returned from a swim I found my bottle of water immersed in a bucket of ice to be sure I returned to a refreshing chilled drink, since it was 90°++. So, incredibly thoughtful! Such well trained staff to add to the beautiful surroundings and delicious food!

This hotel was by far the best throughout our 18 day trip to Thailand. We travelled to Koh Samui toward the end of our trip for a more relaxing end, not knowing what my partner had planned for us. He actually proposed on our first night staying here, he had booked us a beautiful beach side private tent at the hotel and popped the question. The service received from the staff was just outstanding, Suzy, who initially checked us in, did a wonderful job and was just so friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. We are so grateful for how well we were treated by all staff, and all our needs were catered to. We had a beautiful room with a private pool which we thoroughly enjoyed, and loved how comfy our bed was! The food was lovely, most nights we would order from room service which came very promptly. We will definitely be coming back in the future and absolutely loved this hotel! We will recommend this to everyone we know!

It’s an alright hotel/resort. Cost/quality is not good though. Anantara positions itself as a premium or even a luxury chain, but in reality they are not quite there. It’s by far not the best hotel we stayed in Thailand; there are simply better options for the same price out there. The rooms are spacious and clean made in a modern traditional Thai style. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food options at the premises are somewhat limiting but the breakfast is good. The best restaurant at the premises, Tree Tops, has a minimum spend policy which is ridiculous compared to other competing resorts. The beach is small and had a sewage pipe open up in the sand, which is a big NO for me. The beach is also very dirty, resembling a plastic dump, just right outside of the hotel premises (behind the rocks in the video). Most importantly, Anantara, being a 5-star luxury resort allows random beach vendors to its premises. It’s a normal practice for them. While it should be a big NO.

Amazing hotel, immaculately presented, staff are awesome, particularly with kids. Special shout out to Sam who made our trip memorable. Kids club is great, food all to a high standard and although more expensive than outside the hotel, not ridiculous. Several good restaurants within a few mins walk. Incredible value.

Amazing resort with great staff. Thank you to their GM Emanuel and his wonderful team, we had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay. Food quality, suite with private pool, huge breakfast, private beach are only few of all highlights

Thank you so much for an incredible stay. My second time to Thailand, first time travelling alone and this was the perfect resort, location and experience. I stayed 6 nights and only wish I had a few more days to enjoy. All staff were so friendly and helpful. Highlights: Private Pool Villa Breakfast included Close to airport Close enough to walk to Chaweng Beach or other direction (Kaif Bathhouse) Short taxi to Fisherman's Village Private beach

What an amazing stay we've had here. The service is over and beyond anything you would expect. Anytime we leave the room, it gets cleaned and serviced. All the small details are accounted for. The breakfast has several options to choose from, and the staff are attentive and helpful. Chaweng Road is less than a 10 minute ride, and everything you need is there. Thank you for the amazing couple of days,

The included breakfast is amazing, so many options, you can fill yourself up for the whole day if you want. It's very close to the airport so you will hear the odd plane, it wasn't a big deal for us. Our room had a swing over our private pool, very nice. The turndown service was an unexpected delight. Staff was friendly and attentive. Nice sandy beach but watch out there are some rocks hiding underwater. We did not dine there other than free breakfast but went to nearby towns. Hotel restaurant and other paid services like laundry and massage cost much higher so go to town.

We had the luck to celebrate our honeymoon and stay in Anantara hotel for 4 nights. From the moment we arrived, Sam from the reception took us from the taxi and did not leave us until we got everything we needed. Never in our lives we met such a caring and amazing hospitality, 24/7 until the last minute when we had to run and catch our boat for the next stop. Would recommend this hotel again and again, great facilities, breakfast is amazing and the team is just lovely. Once again to mention Sam who treated us the best.

Thank you for hosting my family. We had a lovely time at your resort. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly and helpful ! The rooms are cozy. The pool is amazing. We especially loved Khai’s hospitality. He manned the beach and the pool area with a 1000 watt smile ! Taking back great memories from the trip all because of Anantara !

My husband and I fell in love with this resort. The staff are so friendly and go over the top to help you and make sure you have a wonderful day. We want to thank Sunny and Sam for being so sweet and helpful and also the staff cleaning the gym that found my husband’s lost wedding ring!! Chef Christian at the breakfast buffet also gave us some great recommendations for Koh Samui. Everyone is so lovely here, thank you!

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful 3-night stay at Anantara Lawana, and I must say it was an absolute delight. From the moment I arrived until my departure, the experience was simply exceptional. One of the highlights of my stay was the free upgrade to a stunning pool villa, which made my vacation even more memorable. First and foremost, I have to recommend Sam, our host of the resort. Sam's warm and friendly nature immediately put me at ease upon my arrival. He greeted me with a genuine smile and was incredibly attentive throughout my entire stay. Sam's exceptional customer service skills truly made a lasting impression on me. His approachable and friendly way of communication made me feel valued as a guest and ensured that all my needs were met with utmost care and attention. Now, let's talk about the pool villa itself. It was nothing short of breathtaking. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a beautifully designed and tastefully decorated space. The villa was spacious, impeccably clean, and exuded an atmosphere of tranquility. The private pool was an absolute highlight, offering a refreshing oasis right at my doorstep. Whether I was taking a dip or simply lounging by the poolside, I felt like I was in paradise. The amenities provided were top-notch. The comfortable king-sized bed ensured a restful night's sleep, and the luxurious bathroom was equipped with all the necessary toiletries. The attention to detail was evident throughout the villa, with thoughtful touches that added to the overall ambiance. I particularly appreciated the well-stocked minibar and the complimentary Wi-Fi, which allowed me to stay connected throughout my stay. In conclusion, my 3-night stay at Anantara Lawana Resort in the pool villa, including the free upgrade, was an extraordinary experience. Sam's friendly and welcoming demeanor truly made a difference in ensuring a memorable stay. The pool villa itself was a slice of paradise, providing the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and privacy. If you're looking for a truly exceptional getaway, I highly recommend this resort for an unforgettable stay.

I would give a 4 on location because it is a little far from Central samui Mall, about 20 to 30 mins walk and about 15 mins drive from Fishermans Village where there is a night market, on mondays, wednesdays and fridays. Otherwise, it has excellent rooms and service and a good breakfast. There is also a private beach for swimming and canoeing. There is only a pharmacy close by and no 7 eleven close by.

We stayed there 10 nights and loved it. We felt like at home. Very comfortable, calm, and truly amazing staff. They make sure you have all you need. They go the extra mile to provide top notch service.

I loved our stay! The room with the private pool is really really nice. In the horrible heat, it made things so much better!! Two members of the staff made our stay epic: Chui, from breakfast, and Pooh, from the spa. Pooh was an incredibly skilled therapist. Chui made sure our breakfasts were 5 stars: she remembered our drink orders every day, she mentored junior staff and she made sure to fix any mistakes that happened. The only thing I would improve is the dinning options. The Tree Tops restaurant really did not meet our expectations at all and food at the Ocean Kiss restaurant was just okay.

The Anatara Lawana was beyond excellent. The manager Emanuel and his team took care of our group with five star service and the grounds were pristine. Thank you for making our holiday so great and looking forward to returning again soon.

I had seen this hotel advertised on YouTube and was looking forward to visiting for a day. I was really disappointed. Not only were the prices for everything extremely high, we were told at reception that we could visit the spa free of charge ( only paying for the day pass rate) but then told by the spa staff that the fee was much higher than I'd ever pay in the UK. The service of the ground staff, was good, however. The location is probably suffering from post pandemic since many surrounding places had closed down.

Beautiful hotel, one of the best I've been in Thailand. Amazing staff, very kind and good service. Good breakfast. The food at the hotel is pretty expensive, but you can find some local restaurants near by. Few things I didn't like and you need to take it in consideration: *the breakfast is located infont of the beach in open space. There is no air conditioner and it's very hot there! The view is beautiful though. *the hotel is not accessible for strollers, it's pretty hard to move around. *before arriving we mentioned that we are coming with a baby, but they still placed us in the second floor. Which was impossible for us to go upstairs with a baby + a stroller. Eventually we needed to upgrade the room to get a room on ground floor. In overall very good hotel.

Really enjoyed staying here! The facilities are really nice and well maintained. Super friendly and attentive staff (thank you Lhin!) I really enjoyed how convenient everything was. We booked a scooter at the front desk, and picked up and dropped it off right at the hotel. My two bits of feedback are: 1. To improve the breakfast, as the coffee wasn't great and the food itself was rather basic. 2. It was a bit weird that they clean the room multiple times a day, and we felt our privacy was a bit violated. We specifically asked to not clean the room and they did it anyway. I'm sure it was a misunderstanding but all the same, we wished it didnt happen.

Truly the most amazing place. From the first minute to the last, we received the most incredible customer service you could have asked for. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make sure we had the most amazing holiday. We truly cannot put into words how exceptional they all were, and we just want to say a massive massive thank you for making our holiday so so special. It was perfect.

Beautiful resort and spills right out to a private beach. Lovely, spacious, clean rooms. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, 5 star service and kindness. Loved this resort very much. Only minor issue was the WiFi was a little unstable some days in our room but otherwise everything was fabulous.

If you want to feel like being in the Caribbean, spend some nights at this Anantara in Samui! We loved the cozy bungalow with a small private pool and it’s very tasteful interior design. The staff was super friendly and helpful. A big thank you to the concierge and the the pool staff!) Will come again for sure!

The Hotel is old and outdated, but renovated. The rooms are a bit dark and dusty- the view from the balkony has for most rooms no to little privacy. Location: As of june 2022 there are literally no stores, restaurants, etc. in the immediate vincinity (closed down bc.of covid)- you need a car, motor scooter or walk for a while. The beach itself is really beautiful and good for a walk. Service: Definitively not what you expect for a 5-star hotel and the price you pay: Slow, unresponsive, uncoordniated, unfriendly (partly- partly very friendly). Food: Breakfast varied and good, but not great. Restaurants mediocre at best- not on level for 5-star hotel. Spa: Definiticle overpriced, staff not very friendly, no ambiente, massages ok, no wellness- /feel good-experience. Closing comments: After paying the final bill- we didn't even get a goodbye from the staff- we didn't feel welcome, more like cash cow tourists.

We bought a day pass at the beach bar to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was an amazing day. The view is marvellous, the food and the service were excellent. It's absolutely a 5* star environment, and the staff was just perfect, friendly and always be there when we needed them.

Good to look at but too much of a walk up and down lots of stairs in order to get to the pool, beach and rooms. If you like huge resorts this place would suit you. We didn't stay here so cant comment on the rooms The pools were lovely and the style of the resort was beautifully designed.

They truly deserve the 5 stars rating! All the staffs were friendly and helpful! I accidentally left my camera and they were helpful enough to helped me find it back. Room were really clean and get clean up daily! Everything is on point! The private dining were good and beautiful. Chef came out to check and make sure we are alright. Spa was good too. Rent a bike and the price were the same as the shop, so u can just rent it from them very easy. Thanks Anantara for making our trip in Koh Samui wonderful.

This was my favourite hotel during our Thailand vacation. The pool villa is beautiful and private. We also upgraded to get a pool breakfast. The beach is fantastic and you have kayaks and paddle boards that can be used for free. The breakfast spread was very good. But more than anything else, it was the service at this resort that made our stay exquisite. Every good hotel in Thailand will provide great service but this hotel goes one step further with being extremely thoughtful and caring. We really liked their daily weather forecast that was hand delivered to the room every evening. We had to checkout from the hotel at 6am so they even packed us a breakfast box. The hotel is built on a large property and you'll have to walk around a bit to go from the room to the lobby/beach but you can always ask for a lift on the caddy. Will highly recommend staying here in Koh Samui.

Amazing. We were in Anantara Lawana for 20 days and enjoyed every day very much. Thank you for upgrading our room to a private villa. We appreciate it very much and thank you again. 🙏 The environment of the resort is beautiful, peaceful and full of plants. All the staff is friendly, kind and caring. We salute you all and I hope we have not seen the last of you. 😊

A bit slow, great views - excellent food, service good... vibe could improve - no music - there were only a few customers when we went for dinner. We expected more people - for such a beautiful place there should have been more people.
