What a great week! The property is beautiful, great views from all the rooms, and tons of space in the villa to unwind. But even better was the staff! We really felt like genuinely appreciated guests. Whether being called by name, or taking care of any of our needs, the staff did amazing. The owner even took us down to the beach to try to feed some fish (the water wasn’t cooperating). The ‘price’ of the amazing views is the resort is a little secluded, so I recommend a car if you like to wander a lot; otherwise the resort is super-accommodating at driving you to places to see - like Sami elephant cafe or fisherman’s village. Lastly, great food at the restaurant - wide range and they work hard to accommodate any diet needs. I hope we make it back!

Very nice hotel on the topof the hill. My room is huge with marble floor, jacuzzi and private plunge pool. It is also very clean. The view is stunning. The staff is very courteous and competent. The restaurant is kind pricy. The problem I have is the steep, steep uphill leading to the hotel. You need a car with stronger engine than 1200 CC. If you self-drive you need to arrive before dusk.

When looking at Koh Samui hotels, I loved the pictures and reviews of the Sandalwood Luxury Villas. When arriving it was amazing, from the size of the rooms and the views. I stayed for almost two weeks in two different rooms, both were amazing and have included pictures for both rooms, as I can't do two reviews. The only thing better than the view is the service here. They take care of everything, from pre arrival, pickup/drop off at the airport and everything throughout your stay. Make sure you check out thier restaurant and spa Thank you George and the team at Sandlewood in making it a great experience. Ps. The pictures are of a Two Bedroom Pool Suite (Camille) and a One Bedroom Grand Pool Suite (Malee)

This hotel is amazing. I love everything about this place. The views from the living room was WOW, and the view from the bathtub was fantastic. 🥰🥰😍😍😍🥰🥰 the service was awesome, easy to communicate through Whatsapp. The rooms were big, so clean, the kitchen was screen touch so it was a little difficult time for us to make food but I called the service and yes. The server came to help immediately. The roads to this hotel was super crazy. It was more crazy then San Francisco roads. 😁😁😁😁😁 but it was worth to sleep here.

Recommend for those who like to stay in Thai style wooden villa. It contain all facilities needed for long stay. Stunning sea view more than 180 degree at the balcony. However a bit difficult to ride on hillside road uphill to the resort.

Very much enjoyed our stay here. Staff were very kind and courteous. Rooms were large and it was nice to have our own private plunge pool, with a lovely view (pics included) They offer a free shuttle during the day to two local beaches and for a small fee can take you anywhere else on the island.

Stunning view of the island, and a large comfortable bathroom were the highlights of this stay. Some negatives were the hard to access location (top of really steep mountain) and the fact that the villas felt quite run down. No included breakfast option, fairly isolating vibe, and given the high price per night, they charged a lot for transport to and from even local areas. Important to be aware that this will not feel like a 4 or 5 star stay, even though the price would indicate that it should be. Things like the sun-beds, cabinetry, and curtains could do with some upkeep.

What a great resort Sandalwood is. Just stayed at villa Lotus. Lovely spacious villa with huge private balcony with absolutely stunning view taking in Chaweng bays and sister island Koh Phangan as a backdrop. Great attention to detail and very comfortable furnishings and beds. The newly extended restaurant has great food and nice view out to sea. Some great deals on at the moment so if your considering a short break unwind at Sandalwood. You won't regret it.

It was wonderful staying here. 1. Receptionist were helpful, polite and cordial. 2. Room was spacious and clean. 3. Villa situated uphill so the view from room was exceptional. 4. Pool was clean and view was wonderful from there. 5. Car service provided free of cost to and from nearest beach and transport from downhill.

Very nice hotel with amazing service and super friendly staff. The only downfall is that it is very high up on hill. However, this gives you an amazing view. I can recommend the private island tour that you can book though the hotel. I will definitely come back here!

This is an honest review. I booked this place on my honeymoon and specifically for the private pool in male room. This is one of the ‘pricier’ rooms In this area and I wanted complete privacy for my scarfed wife and I. When we arrived they notified us that there was construction being done above our room. This instantly upset me as there were workers that could look down into our pool section. Upon a frustrating conversation with the manager, they went above and beyond to rectify the situation. They offered us free breakfasts and a candlelit dinner from our room + other extras. They should have warned us earlier about the construction situation but did their very best to make it up to us. The view is to die for 😍

We had good stay in this villa. I forgot to mention that we wanted an early-checkout and a transportation to the airport, but robert who is the owner, was quick to arrange it early in the morning. Thank you very much for your prompt response, and see you next time!

Wow.. what a beautiful lovely place! I enjoyed every moment and wish I could have stay longer… The room is just perfect- inviting, comfortable and so clean.. The view is unforgettable… just wow! The staff are so welcoming- the girls at the reception are always smiling and ready to help, and the owner is super nice and helpful. I’ve stayed there for 6 night and would definitely come back! Highly recommended💕⭐️🙏

This is truly a magical place, we stayed in the Jumpee room which had a private infinity pool, outdoor jacuzzi tub and a spacious living quarters. The staff were all so amazing - helpful, friendly and always smiling. The hillside location is out of the way, but the hotel shuttle service is very reasonable and very easy to use. The restaurant food was so delicious and had a wide variety to choose from. Using whatsapp with the front reception was so convenient for room service, booking a ride to and from the resort, tour booking. We truly loved our 4 nights here and will remember our stay for years to come, would highly recommend.

We stayed in Jumpee. What an incredible privilege. Our 6 nights flew by. I'd give the service 6 stars if I could. One thing you should know, you're not walking out from the resort. The road is long and steep. The hotel provides a service to explore other places though.

Great hotel with nice clean rooms and nice view !! It is situated on the top of the mountain. They have a taxi service but it is a little expensive so I would advise to rent a motorbike. Just ask the girls at the reception, they are very lovely and ready to help you. Balconies are great but with a vis-à-vis on your neighbors.. Food in the restaurant next door (Blue Ginger) is amazing !! They have very well cooked Thai food served in good quantity !!

Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were lovely and welcoming, they use whatsapp to communicate which makes it very easy to prepare for check in and arrange to use their shuttle service. Their shuttle service makes it easy to get around the island. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with a private pool, the view was amazing, being up in the mountains you can see a lot. The beds were comfortable, air conditioning kept the whole villa cool, and the private pool was a great experience. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel with a great view. Kids loved their infinity pool and little ponds with fishes. Very nice people working, always helpful, everything clean. You can't walk anywhere, this hotel is high on the mountain, but they offer free roundtrip rides to the nearby beaches (Coral beach and Chrystal bay), where you can also find places to eat. Overall a very good experience, good value.

We stayed in Bougainvillea at the top of the resort this time last year. Absolutely stunning Villa with our own infinity pool and terrace with far reaching uninterrupted views of the sea. Many meals at their Blue Ginger restaurant were delicious every time. Staff were great, even Robert, the owner, dropped us off at the beach a couple of times and recommended other restaurants around the island. Only downside is the need for a 4x4 to get to the resort on the steep hill and when we were there, noisy builders were working on the property next door. Highly recommended. Sorry for the late review Robert.

Rating 4 stars due to the location (only their car service can take you up to your villa). The view is beautiful, transportation isn’t convenient though. Hotel is somewhat out dated. A lot of construction going on during our stay, which wasn’t ideal. Overall, beautiful place, great staff!

We spent one night here and it was a dream. The private infinity pool was 10/10 and even had jets! The view was even better. It’s located a bit far from town, so we brought tons of snacks and were glad we did! Staff was super helpful and we could text them before and during our stay if we had questions.

Amazing villa, staff/owner friendly, with sweeping panorama of the island; very comfortable bed. However, building site above and the hill it sits upon is referred to as a mountain by locals - very few taxi drivers will take you up but you can pay the hotel staff who are incredibly responsive with WhatsApp 24/7. The one bedroom grand deluxe pool (Malee) villa did not receive any sunlight during day, however the sun follows the seasons and perhaps we were just very unlucky. We hired a scooter from below and it certainly did not have the power or punch to get up the hill. The bike actually stopped accelerating and started to fall down the hill (we lost our deposit), be careful! Overall, hotel was attentive and we would visit again.

Stayed here over the Christmas holidays and couldn’t have been cuter. The views, outdoor shower, pool, patio, and how large the rooms are is incredible! It’s not updated but I think that’s part of the charm. There is beautiful artwork in the rooms. The staff go out of their way to make things charming. We did struggle to get up the hill with two people on a scooter. Make sure you are sure you want the adventure of being a bit out of the way.

We had a very good stay here. Very friendly owner and clean and comfortable rooms.

Located on the hills directly overlooking the beach, this majestic hotel has all the quirkiness and charm that you would come to expect from a boutique place on the island. The 5-star service here is impeccable and the owners go above and beyond to make sure your experience on the island in addition to the hotel is amazing. This was our second stay here and we'll continue using this place in the future.

Perhaps the best hotel I've had the pleasure staying at. Definitely has the best views! Friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Absolutely serene. Wish we could stay longer.

The best place in lamai to stay . Although the location is a bit akward to reach , the professional drivers at the resort just make it a cake walk. We stayed at the Mallee Villa for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay . Lipsmackin food , corteous service . The ladies at the reception are friendly and accomodating with any requests we made them . Thdir rsstaurant closes at 6 pm ,but foodpanda nd grab were our saviours . We wanted to stay a bit longer but we had to move to another place which has more of hustle bustle . The resorts Owner Robert is a great chap and he drove us up from Sandalwood to our other hotel at Bo Phut and made a few stops on the stay to pickup foodstuff and also suggested some great places to dine in at Bo Phut . I will definetly recommend this place .

Great Views but not Luxury! Bo GANVILLEA highest located villa Somewhat troublesome construction site of other villa ongoing next door. Loads of space in a secluded location, but close to attractions. Car or scooter required - must have to get around.( Hill about 500m long and steep) you could not cycle up it ! I would guess at 30-40 degrees gradient. Cash payment preferred for room. WiFi works well in most rooms apart from bedroom. Grab deliver even in rain and at night. Watch out for mosquitoes from about 6pm. No gym or sauna, however has steam room and massage which could do with TLC..no relaxing area outside of steam room. Showers and water works well , water very hot. Bump into TV and furniture every night as little room to pass by into bedside. Most expensive accommodation that requires renovation. Outside table & chair worn.

Beautiful rooms with incredible views and very friendly, attentive staff. We would come back in a heartbeat!!! Restaurant serves good food but closes at 6pm so unless you have your own transportation, you have to arrange for a taxi to pick up and bring you food.

Located in a very beautiful hill and overlooking the sea. Room is exceptionally big and comfy. Best part is waking up to sunrise. Highly recommend to rent a car to travel ard Koh Samui too. Food wise is not bad.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. I only booked two nights because some of the reviews stated the hotel is located on a huge hill and is nearly impossible to get up by scooter. Yes, although the hill is steep, I had no issues going up/down with a 150cc scooter. Don’t think you can get a view like this without going up some hills on this island anyway. We stayed in the Jumpee villa. Room was very clean and spacious. The huge private pool was great. The staff were excellent. Will definitely stay in the hotel again the next time I’m in Samui

Unbelievable view! Located on a hill you have a great view over the entire bay. Staff is very friendly and makes sure you are having the best stay possible. The food is great and the entire facility has a relaxing atmosphere.

Amazing staff, great food and better views! This place had it all. I did the test and go program through them and they made it easy to get the documents needed. I booked a year ago and had to change the reservation many times due to covid guideline changes. They were great with communicating and guidance. Will miss this place!
