Great location and facilities. Lovely food and attentive staff. Kamalaya could easily get 5 stars from me if they didn't miss one important thing. I bought a Day Pass that comes with lunch. My intention was to attend the yoga class at Kamalaya. After I paid for my pass, the reception staff sent me to the wrong location. I didn't make it to the yoga class 30 minutes after the class started.

This is the mother of all wellness resorts. Luxury in all senses of the word without being over the top. Great healthy food amazing treatments in their world beating wellness centre and superb staff to help you relax and unwind. I did a 14 day stay with a renew and relax package that included all three meals and drinks ( no alcohol it is available but not encouraged due to it being a wellness centre) I had a list of amazing treatments and massages. Including Traditional Thai massage , Indian head massage, stomach massage foot massages , tension relief shoulder massages and many many more . Brilliant practitioners for all of them . I also added in a 121 reformer pilates and three 121 personal training sessions which where amazing. I booked a superior sea view suite which was great and although the room could do with updating it was very comfortable and had great views of the sea. The leisure pool and beach are also amazing with just enough shade to stop serious burning in the strong sun and the service is impeccable at the beach and in the Amrita cafe for lunch. I am feeling energised and relaxed still a week later and already planning a return visit either later this year or next year around Easter. Expensive but well worth it. I also travelled alone and did not find that at all intimidating as many people also were there on their own . After five nights I joined the community table which turned out to be amazing . Cannot recommend this place enough. Two weeks was just not long enough ... A month next time I think.

First of all.. I don’t usually take much time to write a holistic review about a place unless the experience I had is extreme (good and bad). For Kamalaya my experience was beyond wonderful so it is best for me to list out each topic / item that impressed me. Side note: there is nothing that I did not like about this place!! If I could give more than 5 stars, I totally would. 1. Prior to check-in: Great communication since booking to arrival, the reservation team kept track of everything and ask if we need any assistant constantly along the way but of course not that much that one can get annoyed. 2. Upon arrival: Check-in was quick and seamless (my bf always complain if check-in takes more than like 5 mins - this time he is extremely happy). The reception provide us with a folder of information that we can keep during the entire stay with maps, activities schedules, spa menu etc etc etc, they even provide us with most useful words to use in Thai within the booklet!! We are Thai so we don’t really need that but it was a nice gesture for sure 3.Getting to our room: A golf cart drove us to our room and we thought that was it.. the guy came inside and explained every details of the room to us and it was such a nice conversation that we didn’t feel bothered. Once he is done, another golf cart had already arrived and so the first guy right away deliver our bags. This is such a great idea as we didn’t even have time to think about where our bags were! Sooo smart! 4. The room: Super awesome, homey and spacious. If u like to watch tv... there is none here for you. The concept is to be with yourself and digital detox.. so if you wish to work or play Netflix, then u can bring your own laptop to enjoy in your room or villa 5. Spa: must try!! The resort has an extensive and varieties of massages for everyone. They even have some power related stuff like reiki (I totally didn’t understand myself what that was) but as a curious noob, I tried and the sensation it gave me was out of the world and is some thing I have never felt before so do try the Three Treasure - their signature one 6. Facilities-Fitness & Gym: First when I walk into the gym I was like.. ok, this is a typical gym full of cardio related machines. Then I look closely I realize that there are three floors full of gym equipment not one and cater to all your needs from cardio to wait to yoga to TRX anything you can ever imagine. It was actually built around a natural stone so the gym seems secretive but want people to explore 7. Group activities: Love their all day our schedule. Period. U really gotta see what activities plans they have for the week so u can sweat, stretch, meditation or to reach into your inner self. 8. The FOOD: How is it possible that they change their dinner menu every day and they all taste amazing even though they are all healthy food? I will leave just just that. 9.Overall service: I would say it’s beyond five star because all the staff are so nice so caring and want the best for you. I actually returned one more time and date even remember me and that was a nice icing on the cake. I love this place a whole lot and I would always want come back if I have time.. I can’t wait for my next vacation with Kamalaya

A healing place where you can disconnect from the stress to focus on your health and your mental well being. The service at this resort was amazing, I am impressed by the way they train their staff to put such care and dedication to their work.

We love Kamalaya, the location, the serene layout gardens buildings colors…. The very friendly and helpful employees… The hollistic activity program could be improved with more choices on pilatus and other group lessons…we hope with the new owners things will not change and if… only for the better…

A much needed and thoroughly relaxing 30 days of doing as little as possible. Well apart from gym, swim, sauna, massage and repeat 20 points off my blood pressure (130/80-110/80) is testament to what an amazing place Kamalaya is. A property though is only as good as it’s staff, and the team at Kamalaya were exceptional as always, with a big thank you to the following: Restaurant Jieb, Cindy, Khwan, Rada, Raya, Goong, Fitness Adam, Dew, Mic Wellness May, O, Nice, Leila, Dada

Top resort for retreat, detox and wellness. Staff is extremely service minded, kind and professional. Food is absolutely amazing and super healthy. The quality of treatments offered are truly above the average of what you find in other spas. Only downside is mosquitoes since the place is trying to be more eco friendly with abundant trees and greens.

My 5-day 'Asian Bliss' program was truly exceptional in every single way. I feel well-rested, lighter and walking out feeling that I already wanted to book my return!

I simply cannot say enough good things about Kamalya. From the moment you set foot in this oasis, the whole environment has a calming effect on you. The staff are incredibly welcoming, thoughtful, and helpful. The food (I opted for the detox diet) is absolutely remarkable and some of the best I've ever had. Before your arrival, the team at the retreat design a completely comprehensive and bespoke program for your specific and ideal goals. It is a mix of both traditional and modern treatments (including luxurious spa treatments, mentoring sessions, reike, sound baths, yoga, meditation, fitness, etc- the programming is vast and never feels overwhelming), and on the first day, a full health assessment is conducted to see how your program should be modified (for me, it was a wakeup call). While you're there, you develop new habits (some small and some more significant) that are absolutely life changing. It's all the tools we already have in our toolbox, but the professionals at the retreat encourage you to develop a different perspective of current thinking and current habits. Before going to the retreat I read a review from someone who said Kamalaya was life changing for them, and I now understand why. The founders, John and Karina, have done a remarkable job creating a space, in one of the most beautiful locations in the world, that's void of any pretense, but yet filled with warmth and designed with precision and to perfection.

After many months of despair and hope for many hotel businesses out there, I deeply admire founders Karina and John for sticking to their dream, sparing no effort to maintain beautiful scenery, a motivated and caring team and a cosy and welcoming environment in their beautiful retreat.

Life changing events led me to Kamalya to have time with myself, to think, heal and pamper myself! I got what I was after and even more. For a health conscious and healthy food loving person, this place was simply everything I could dream of! I loved every dish and there was so much choice for me! Restaurants are beautifully located! Overall, the entire staff is friendly, helpful, welcoming and competent! I did the Asian Bliss treatment and each of my treatment was outstanding and I had a lot of massages and treatments in my life…! I know the differences and Kamalaya treatments were extremely good! The TCM even helped after years of should issues! The library with so many books is wonderful. The workshops, meditation sessions were great! The cultural and temple tour that is offered twice a week are highly recommendable. The location is simply stunning and how it is setup in the middle of nature, far from everything is extremely stunning! It was clean and tidy at all times! Be aware that the location is far from any supermarket. A walk to the next supermarket takes about 30min according to Google Maps. So, you might depend on the food that is offered at Kamalya. In terms of drinks, you have the choice of natural water, a variety of self-made juices, smoothies, teas, sunflower seed milk, almond milk and pumpkin seed milk. No sodas or the like! Sparkling water you will have to pay for in case of a meal package or no meal package. Wines and beers can be purchased at lunch and dinner time. As mentioned before: food is outstanding, especially for health conscious, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free people. There are Thai, fish and poultry dishes. Tip: Meal plan options can be inquired before the reservation: Half-board, full-board or without meal plan. This also applies to packages. Prices are European, but the food is of much higher quality. Well, depending on what you compare it with. It is definitely not Thai cheap in terms of costs; in case this is what you wish for. Quality instead of cheap prices should matter more at Kamalya. You will get outstanding quality – food, treatment, location, people, services… Meal plans cover all drinks and the food you get with a meal plan is plenty! You can select from different pillow cushions and having a quality sleep at Kamalaya is very important to them. Mattresses are medium hard and you can have a softer cover in case needed. I love hard mattresses. To me it was a little too soft, but I could handle it well. So not too bad. This however is subjective! I love my stay at Kamalaya and will return...

Kamalaya is a very special and unique place. A total oasis of tranquility and well-being. Its a testament to the founders (John & Karina) who had a vision and then spent the last two decades nurturing it into what we are blessed with today. Everyone should stay here at least once in their life.
