The hotel, beach, general atmosphere, villas, gardens all of them is wonderful. Proffesional, extremly friendly and helpful staff. We got very excellent service throughout our stay. Their way of saying welcome and goodbye is uniqe and catchy. Foods, beverages, coctails and fresh young coconuts are delicious. We really enjoyed during our stay, amazing experience. Want to back there again!

Absolutely unfriendly and snobby! I went in to order and their bar. Ordered to drinks while the waiter eyed me up and down and asked whether I was staying at the hotel. I told them I wasn't and friendly asked if I could still order and eat at the bar. They said yes. I the sat down in one of their beach sofas. After drinking and ordering someone came up to me and told me I couldn't stay and basically inferred that I hadn't paid for the drinks( which I had!). She didn't even offer me to buy a day pass and told me to leave! I'm a well educated, middle aged woman and was treated like a criminal! Terrible!

After an initial hiccup the end result was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. We initially booked one of their modern Grand Reserve Pool Villa, but close to the arrival date we received several offers including for a room upgrade to a “Grand Deluxe Pool Villa” for a small premium per night per night. We asked about differences - told it was more traditional but much bigger 285m2 vs 215m2 with a bigger pool and extra lounge area outside but still a king bed. When we arrived all seemed well and enjoyed a swim in the large pool. At the end of the evening we sat on the bed - to find it was rock hard like nothing I’d felt before, not just firm but actually solid. Tried to get used to it, as we had a firm bed at home, but it felt like sleeping on the floor. The next morning I talked to the manager and she apologized and immediately arranged for us to check out the original Grand Reserve Pool Villa. The bed there was normal, firm but very comfortable - so she arranged an immediate transfer for us there and refund of the upgrade price. It is night and day. The Grand Reserve Villas are the future of Santiburi - lovely spacious modern design, great lighting, large private pool with waterfall feature, loungers with huge canopy, much quieter area than 60x numbered traditional villas (which are also near the kids activity center), very comfortable living rooms with a very large flat screen TV with high quality picture (unusual in a resort or hotel) and Yamaha soundbar. There is also a large TV in the bedroom. There is an HDMI socket in the wall to plug in your iPad or computer, and you can also connect to the soundbar via Bluetooth to enjoy great sound quality too. The other highlight was breakfast. Lovely breakfast area with terrific food. They don’t ask your room number, everything for breakfast is included and top notch. The on site Thai restaurant Sala Thai was superb - both the food and the genuinely friendly and professional service. The spa is also excellent - beautiful inside - I recommend the Posture 90 minute for guys with lower back problems. The Beach House offers great service and good food (Thai but also great burgers) and cocktails (good Martini) with options to sit at a table in the sand, or under a modern canopy for more shade. Areas for improvement would be to move the gym building to a much more central location - it’s really a bit of a hike under the sun to get there. Also the beach furniture could be a lot nicer and grander. There are plenty of standard sunbeds, but only a larger loungers they group very close together in one area (unnecesssrily since there were areas of beach not used - maybe more convenient for the staff) and they only have one curtained bed which you have to rent for a whole day together with a large set amount of alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. That is not an optimized way to run a 5 star beach area - I’d suggest they take a look at Belmond Naphasai Koh Samui nearby to see a great beach experience with a long row of curtained beach loungers which are free to reserve, with waiter service. I’d suggest they bulldoze the older 60x numbered large villas and build more in the style of the Grand Reserve villas - so so much nicer, it really is their differentiator (while Belmond Naphasai do their beach area better, they should look at Santiburi Reserve lodgings, since Belmond’s sea view lodgings are not aging well at all). Then it would all be perfect.

Lovely, friendly staff, amazing location and delicious food. It was such a relaxing stay and we felt like we were in paradise. My entire experience from airport to check out was so smooth. The little touches like someone to take you to your room and give you a welcome drink makes the experience so nice. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH! GO TO SANTIBURI!

It's on the far side of the island. Would suggest renting a car. But the pool villa we had was lovely. People around the resort and Thailand in general are so friendly. Would definitely go again .

We are here for the 4th time already and everytime they never disappoint us! We stayed in the 2-bedroom villa next to the beach and u can hear the waves from the villa, it’s heavenly. Rooms are nice, cleaners always make them spotless every time. Service is excellent, everyone has lovely smiles/greets, very helpful and initiative. Breakfasts are great, the Thai restaurant for dinner is excellent too. Location is convenient, lots of convenient stores and pharmacy in walking distance We will definitely come back!

Was a great stay. Because of a problem with Agoda we booked a room that wasn't suitable for us because we travel with a 2 year toddler. The hotel very kindly upgraded our room to one of the villas which was much appreciated. The hotel was so beautiful, the breakfast was amazing. The beach and the pool and all the facilities were so great. Really. The only thing is that it's a little far from the Main Street of Chaweng. Other than that was perfect.

Holidays salvage operation. Our stay in Koh Samui hadn’t started well: our first hotel, a European hotel chain located close to the airport, had been a total disappointment. To such degree that for the first time in my life, I decided to interrupt a full prepaid holiday and look for an alternative. Our travel agent had found the Santiburi as a back up plan. We were travelling with 2 young kids and a baby, so all things considered I had taken a risky bet. My wife was rightfully quite doubtful, the first hotel had similar positive reviews and was positioned as kinds friendly. A metal drum was beaten to welcome us. We were invited to take seat in one of lounges while we checked in (complimentary juices were offered to refresh us) instead of checking in at the reception. At that moment, I knew that my bet had paid off, as hospitality went above all. Room: as we enter the room the first thing I spot is a very nice air fragance. Beautiful classic thai room, flowers on the bed and fresh fruit on the table in the living room are waiting for us. Good quality bed sheets. Espacious. While you see that the room has been well mantained but is not new, the bathroom has been redone. Plenty of small details such as a wooden clothesline to hang your wet swim suit to ensure that you are comfortable. Gardens are beautiful, mantained daily by profficient gardeners. Plenty of chaises-longues are available be it by the swimming pool, or by the beach. I don’t think there are many hotels in the northern part of the island with such a long piece of coastline. Gym is impressive even with a Muay Thai ring! Most importantly the staff are absolutely remarkable. This rises above the rest. The warmth and permanent smile of everyone makes your stay unforgettable. A big thank you!

Just been to the Bar. Beach House. Very very poor service. Not attentive at all. Had to ask several times for any menu. Staff didn't approach once to get any order at all. Regarding this as a 5 star resort, staff & management definately needs better training. Although nice location, I do not recommend coming here. PS: The Wagyu burger I've order was just ok. 4 pcs of french fries included.... 😳😥🙈

What a great little resort! Really enjoyed our 5d stay with the kids here. Room was huge and close to the beach, food was really tasty and not to over priced and staff were really great! Oh the breakfast was super…loved the fresh made pancakes/waffles/crepes. Location is not far from fisherman’s market (400 baht hotel taxi) and if you are up for walking there are a lot of cool little places to go for coffee or food (The Fish, Boa Boa, About Cafe). Highly recommend this place for families or just a couples relaxed getaway.

The resort is set in beautiful tropical gardens with duplex suites and villas. We had problem with our duplex suite so admin/reception ladies Apple, Air, Ant immediately offered us options of villas. We upgraded to nice villa with small additional charge. The staff in breakfast room and beach house restaurant naming a few Eye,Kit, Ja and Tik were very friendly and offered excellent service. Not forgetting beach boys who set up sun loungers every morning Loved early morning beach walk to see sunrise at 6.30 am building appetite for excellent breakfast. If you don't fancy getting feet sandy there is a big circuit within complex to burn up calories. There is len Spa for getting pampered too. We are vegetarian so there is vast menu to choose from. If we go to Koh Samui, Santiburi will be our no 1 choice for hotel as it is place to relax and unwind All staff make you feel part of Santiburi family!!

Fantastic hotel! The service is fabulous and the smiling and friendly staff are really what made the stay wonderful. The rooms are clean and spacious and the grounds are beautiful and tastefully landscaped. My 6 year old loved the kids' club and was happy to spend ages there - it was hard to get her to leave the resort! The beach is very well maintained. Breakfast was excellent and the 50% off deal made dining in the hotel in the evenings - in the very pleasant Beach House - affordable. The only criticism we had is that if the sea is rough, then the sea-based activities are cancelled which was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. It's hard to get information on what's happening and nothing else is offered in its place which is a shame. I know the hotel can't control the weather and this is the risk when coming during the rainy season but better information would have been appreciated (but certainly not a big enough deal to lose a star over!) and perhaps consider offering other activities in place of cancelled water-based ones e.g. Thai boxing lessons. Apart from that, our stay was perfect and we'd love to come back!

Very nice experience in every aspect. The grounds and facilities are well kept and very comfortable, staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, beach is beautiful (I especially enjoyed the hammocks), and good was great. I only stayed two nights but wish I'd stayed longer - I didn't want to leave! Also the golf course has spectacular views and it's an great, albeit difficult, course. A+ experience. I'll be back! Thank you Khun May, Pom and all the staff at Santiburi. หมีพูห์.

I would say everything was excellent. The location of the hotel, The lush garden, The long and nice beach, The activities at water sport center. The room and bathroom were neat and clean. Good food with wide selection of breakfast (waffle, egg, pancake, crape, etc.). Staff was courteous and pleasant. The manager allowed us late check out as well. We highly recommend Santiburi for both business and pleasure with family. I will be staying here again in next year vacations. Kridakan P.

Great service and holiday. Afternoon tea was something to look forward to. I sailed alone 2/5 days while staying here using their catamaran, and used their gym. The estate is quite nice, and we stayed at the Beach Villa room. We hired the hotel's driver to take us around the island to the waterfalls and viewpoints. Very good, we spent everyday reading at our sunbeds on the beach infront of our villa for ours, having wine and some dessert while doing so. I will come back again next year. (Stay, December 2021)

For the very best reasons, an unforgettable stay and experience. Our stay at the resort was more than we expected, the plantation or grounds are immaculate, with so many tropical plants, flowers and fruits. Our villa was indeed something special, super spacious, the cleanliness was 10/10 and the furnishing was perfect. We loved the pillow menu, which we were able to order via the hotels App, which is possibly one of the better apps we encountered from a hotel brand. Every encounter with a staff member was pleasant, and any query, question or request was dealt with ease and on the first instance. The breakfast buffet was something very special, regardless of the time we visited everything was available and looked fresh, the kitchen was constantly refilling the buffet and favored smaller buffet plates, which meant that everything was nicely fresh! However what really made this place special was the effort they placed on entertaining guests. The app had so many options for people to choose from, and most were free - from sailing lessons to tennis, afternoon tea to beach fishing. What Santiburi has created is truly something special. We would 100% recommend anyone considering Koh Samui to stay at Santiburi!

We had a great stay at the Santiburi Koh Samui, service was excellent and very friendly, right from being picked-up at the Airport, to Reception, activities and excursions, hotel rooms and the hotel restaurants. We really loved it and would come back any time.

Beautiful setting and lovely accommodation. Very helpful and kind staff. (We had a faulty safe in our room and they literally drilled through it for half an hour to get our possessions out before we left). Delicious and varied breakfast buffet. Lots of activities including a huge pool. Great classes. Muay Thai introduction class a highlight. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a family friendly place to stay at a reasonable price.
