The car park area has two rows of eateries (air-conditioned) that serves a wide variety of local dishes. Look out for the Pork Noodle and Pad Thai kiosks. Yummy & heavenly!

It's worth stopping if you're passing by for a brief look at this place. Chinese temple dedicated to Guan Yu, whose statue is the dominant feature here, creating a shrine.

A place of worship for me and my partner once a month. There are normally staff onsite to guide you if you are unsure of the steps to worship. There are also a couple of restaurants nearby within a 1 min walk. Thai food and Chinese food are all available which is quite convenient. Large parking area for both motorbikes and cars right in front of the shrine.

Beautiful large well maintained statue near a good food market (check out the chicken and rice place). There is a nice shrine and other buildings but nothing particularly outstanding. Worth a short stop and a couple photos.

It is dedicated to the Chinese deity Guan-Yu, an important figure in Chinese history. He was a famous military General and played a vital role in the Chinese civil war that gave rise to the demise of Han and the beginning of the Three Kingdoms period. Picturesque! Instagrammable!

Very nice statue of the God of War. Worth a visit but there is not that much to see. They have a scaled model of the complex-to-be which I think will look amazing when finished. Enough space for parking.

Nice tourist attraction and a good pitstop for quick refreshments and food if needed. Decent duck noodles and chicken rice at 2 establishments next to the GuanYu Shrine. Well maintained and majeatic Shrine with great photo opportunities. Definitely Worth a stop.

The famous temples in Koh Samui, well known of Big Buddha Temple where you can see a huge golden Buddha statue in sitting position, and Plai Laem Temple which featuring a striking white 18-arms statue of Chinese Lady Monk. Moreover, there is another important holy place where is located at Baan Nakai, Hua Thanon area nearby Lamai Beach. Here, there is Guan Yu Shrine with the big statue of Guan Yu standing out with 16 meters height which is the biggest bronze statue of Guan Yu in Thailand. Beginning of Guan Yu Shrine in Koh Samui Around 1872, Chinese-Hainan migrated to Koh Samui and settled down at Baan Nakai (Little village in the southeast of Koh Samui). They respectfully invited the statue of Guan Yu to enshrine in a small wooden shrine for their prayed. The traditional shrine was located in the market area, about 1 kilometer away from the current shrine. In 1935, the wooden shrine was moved to the current area. In 2008, Samui people have been gathering the donation to design a new shrine and construct the bronze statue of Guan Yu in the sitting position with 16 meters height. The shrine is a celebration of Chinese heritage, held the Chinese festivals, and become known as the landmark for Koh Samui sightseeing tour.

Passed by and stopped when I saw the large statue. There was decent parking, and opportunities for food and drink on site. Guan Yu Shrine is quite compact, so everyone can take their time for a stop here, as you don't need to spend more time than desired. Across the street is the sea next to a pleasant bar and restaurant, with long sandy beaches. Definitely a stop for both the experience, relaxation and dining.

Small and very new by the looks of things.. but greatly revered by all that made the pilgrimage to say prayers and ask for blessings. The occasional gong or bell can be heard at the conclusion of a prayer. Partial museum with some artifacts on site as well. Choose your departure gate, honesty, integrity, courage.. take a photo and take it with you on the rest of your journey.
