By far the best hotel we stay in Thailand. They were very extremely nice with us. The front desk guy is one of the nicest person we ever met in Thailand. Was very helpful and always wanted to make our journey easier. Renting a bike, booking a tour, buying tickets for the fights, recommending local places and booking a shuttle for us. He was always very kind and honest. Will definitely recommend this place. The hotel has a “private” beach and a pool. The location is great and the hotel itself is very nice.

One of the nicest places I have ever been. I went to Koh Samui Island twice and both times I stayed at The Rock. Very clean and their compound area is so beautiful. They have a nice private beach and pool which is 24/7 accessible. Anyone can easily have a whole relaxing day without stepping outside. Some nice local restaurants, good super shops and Grandfather & Grandmother Rock viewpoint are within just 5-10 minutes walking distance. All the staffs, specially Jerome is very nice and helpful.

This place was amazing. It was slow season so it was not busy, and our rates were really good, but we would have paid a lot more. Staff were so amazing, polite and helpful. Rooms are basic, but clean. Beds were comfortable (not luxury) but they said they had additional mattress pads if we wanted (we did not use them). The pool is short walk down some steps but it was good size, with a private seating area. Plenty of shade if needed. I can’t say enough about how pleased we were with the stay. We ended up staying a few extra days and relaxing.

We stayed at The Rock for 2 nights. What a great welcome! Jerome was very helpful and went above and beyond to help us in any need. The place is beautiful but currently under construction at the beach front. It is about 10-15 minutes walk to the center of Lamai and Grab was never available. So you are better off with a scooter.

It's a really amazing place ! Such a relaxed place with amazing staff. I extended my stay by a few days. Pros: the team, facilities, the views, pool, lounge, vibes, value for money , extra service , private beach. Cons: need a scooter to get around The onsite cafe and restaurant is also super friendly and makes great coffees. Would recommend them as well !

Everything was perfect at the Rock. A quiet hotel/hostel right on the beach. The building and rooms are so nice and feel very new. The staff may be the nicest and most accommodating people on the island!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Rock Samui in Koh Samui, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel boasts two stunning pools and a serene private beach, which made our stay incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. What truly sets this hotel apart is its remarkable staff. Jerome, the hotel manager, was particularly outstanding. His helpfulness and politeness were unparalleled, and he consistently went above and beyond to assist us during our two-week stay. He notably excelled when he took the initiative to research train information for our trip to Hua Hin and accommodated our early check-out due to inclement weather. The entire staff team was also very courteous and attentive, contributing to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. Additionally, the food at Patricia Café, part of the hotel, was simply delicious and added to the overall delightful experience. We wholeheartedly recommend The Rock Samui to anyone visiting Koh Samui. The combination of excellent facilities, stunning location, and exceptional service makes it a top choice for a memorable stay.

Great bar in the rocks built like a bunch of tree houses. Not to be confused with The Rock patisserie or Rockies bar about 200 /100 metres away. And you have to like Reggae and big starter portions 🍺🍻🍺🤔😎👍

Very clean, friendly and practical accommodation. Great private beach and relaxing areas. It has everything you need and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Quiet and peaceful but very close to busy areas of lamai. I had an unforgettable stay here!

Lipa Noi Beach Koh Samui is the best spot on the island for an amazing Koh Samui sunset. Here’s all you need to know before witnessing the firey Thai skies! Lipa Noi Beach Koh Samui is on the West coast of the island and is easily reachable thanks to the well maintained main road that loops around Samui. We stayed in the Chaweng area of Koh Samui and rented a scooter for 150 Baht per day. This gave us access to the whole island!

We had a brilliant stay at the rock Samui! The staff were so so lovely and couldn’t say a bad word about them just really helpful and very kind! It was about a 20-30 min walk into the centre area of lamai but if you wanted a quiet area this is perfect! It was about a 10/15 minute from lamai beach!

Absolutely beautiful Place.Very nice and helpful staff! The rooms are very nice and clean. The view is superb! There are different options like an entire Villa, Hotelrooms, or also some Hostelbeds that you can rent. The guests are a very pleasant mix, the vibe at the place is very chilled out. Amazing Coffee @ the Hotel's own Patricias Coffe. Thank you Jerome and all the rest of the staff for making our stay so great. Everything you need is close by. There is a super thai beach restaurant nextdoor.

ATTENTION: under CONSTRUCTION! This place was maybe good in the past and has the potential to be good in the future. But don't go there for the moment. It equals a Huge construction side. Don't believe in the pictures, these are old. For the moment, it is impossible to stay at the beach front, because it very noisy due to the construction works. They will not let you know in advance. So when you book you think you will have a nice beach resort, but when you're arrive you can't really use it.

What a fantastic little hidden gem! The room wasn’t too big, but it was one of the cleaniest ever, smelled so fresh and no problems with hot water or A/C. Cleaning ladies are super, and they came every day on request. And the scenery, most beautiful. Very nice private beach with sun beds and a swimming pool, and free kayaks, too. Also toilets and shower down at the beach. There was some reconstruction work going on in the restaurant (not open), but it didn’t bother us at all, and despite of that, all places were really clean and they made no noise at all. Jerome was just great, always so polite, ready to help with any issue and smiling. We rented a motor bike with his help, very easy and convenient, they even brought the bike to the hotel. Complimentary breakfast was really nice surprise. We liked the Rock so much that we ended to extend our stay with two more nights. Would have liked to stay even longer… If we ever come back to Samui, we will most certainly stay at the Rock again! Cons: minor issue was a little bit hard bed (as they usually are in Thailand). Bigger issue for me were those two sad parrots in a small cage 😩 Thank you guys, you’re doing great job and hopefully we’ll meet again!

I stayed at many resorts in Koh Samui, The Rock Samui Rocks indeed. It was by far the cleanest hotel I have stayed at, located right on the beach and across from a great massage place. The manager Jerome is kind and very helpful with all you need. Great price and the espresso cafe inside is a plus. You wont regret staying here. They do care about your experience.

Our stay at the Rock Samui was above and beyond. Jerome took amazing care of us for our entire stay, helping us with taxis, booking day trips, giving tips and anything else we needed help with. The pool view is amazing and peaceful. We had a shared 4 person bedroom that was spacious and comfortable. I highly recommend!

Our stay in The Rock was awesome. We’ve been there for 6 weeks and every single time we needed something the manager Jerome went above and beyond to help us in any need. I’m very grateful to him and happy to have stayed there! The place is beautiful they even give you cookies and fruit in the reception and also coffee and tea. Recommended 100%

I stayed the rock for a week and I truly enjoyed my time here. I like Lamai location. It’s quite relaxing and peaceful. The room is quite clean and hotel provides two nice pools and free kayak for use. What makes my trip better is definitely the staff. I have to shout out to Jerome. He is so helpful and warm. It’s so smooth at check-in/out, bookings, motor bike rental and recommendations. I would recommend and come back for sure.

Very clean and modern hostel. I was very impressed!! The beds have curtains for privacy and everything was spotlessly clean. I would definitely stay again. It's got a pool, a lounge, is on the beach, free coffee and even a giant Terrance with good views. A++ very friendly staff too.

My girlfriend and I had a great stay here! It’s very clean and well managed. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Jerome at the front desk is one of the best people you could meet in Thailand! The bunks in the dorms have curtains for privacy and the beds are more comfortable than most hostels. Bathrooms are in solid condition and the showers even had hot water. There’s an infinite pool that looks out onto the beach and the free cappuccinos are a nice bonus in the lobby area. Give this place a shot!

I had a fabulous time at this hotel. I was traveling solo and arrived at the Rock last minute. Jerome and his team welcomed me after my long journey and made it an easy to drop into vacation. This is a lovely and affordable place to stay for an island getaway!

The Rock hostel has been THE best place we stayed in during our trip around Thailand! More than anything, all the staff was really welcoming , warm and always doing their best to help us! Jerome at the front desk has been so SO nice and was really thoughtful of every little things which would make our stay better ! We had a private room with my partner but we shared the common showers and bathrooms. We could see that the hostel was all new as it was exceptionally nice, modern and clean! The room was big which was really nice and the bathrooms/showers were really clean. For women in the bathroom they even let us some small amenities at your disposal which makes a difference when you travel and forget those things ! The beach of the hotel is literally just for us, very quiet and safe. The pool is giving on the sea so it is really nice as well ! There is the possibility to hire kayaks as well ! :) For the location it is perfect if you rent a scooter or else you have a lot of restaurants near by ! For me it is really the staff which made it great always smiling and helpful! I would for sure recommend this hostel and come back again !

I needed a break from the hostel life and I couldn’t have picked a better place in Samui. I had the beach and pool to myself almost every day. The room was lovely. Convenient location. And Jerome went above and beyond to help me with anything I needed, from finding a scooter for me when a lot of shops were sold out (holiday weekend) to helping me book my ferry to arranging my laundry. He’s amazing, and so is this hotel!

What a "hotel"! Really, really great accommodation! :) We were warmly welcomed by Jerome with a drink. In general the staff was very friendly! Especially Jerome who helped us with every question! The Rock doesn't have that hotel or resort vibe at all which we really enjoyed! Everything is super nice and modern and the view from the room and breakfast area is amazing! You can also have breakfast at your terrace. We had the deluxe room/bungalow. It was very clean and modern, the bathroom was great and bright. The pool is also great with a direct view of the sea. It was always nice and quiet and not overcrowded. You had the possibility to rent a kayak and a stand up paddle for free! We got two bottles of water every day. We had not booked breakfast but were offered a light breakfast free of charge. This meant we could enjoy very good coffee, fruit and toast every morning. The accommodation also has a café and a restaurant which serves great food and is perfectly priced! We were able to hire a scooter from the hotel for 250TBH per day as well as transfers and a tour to Ang Thong National Park. All at good prices. The location is also perfect. Directly in Lamai but rather in the quiet area. Restaurants, beach and night market are within walking distance. We were very happy at The Rock and really enjoyed our time there! :) We would definitely come back! Jessi & Jan
