Great hotel at Lamai Beach. Located at one of the most beautiful beaches on the Island. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby with private access to the beach. The hotel also had its own pool and restaurant by the beach. Rooms were comfy and worth the price. Suited for family or backpackers who enjoy a genuine getaway with a walkable (very short) distance from all the clubs and bars. I personally was impressed by the food and drinks they offered there. Even during the pandemic, the hotel still managed to operate with standards. Staff were very nice - cleaning, restaurant, maintenance. Stayed for week. Really wanted to take my family back there again.

Best 1st time experience. Everything about it was ace. Rode in from Malaysia and the check in was super smooth. Food was excellent not too mention it is situated between a beach and a very happening street.

Rooms are clean and well maintained. Good overall value for price. There is happy hour from 5-7pm 1 buy 1 free cocktail or 2 buy 1 free beer. Great beach seafront with pool (open 6am to 10pm) The breakfast is ok, nothing amazing and local dishes could be better. Cocktails are pricey compared to other locations in town but you can have good value when in happy hour and they are well dosed + tasty. Near 7/11, and Lamai Main Street. Very good location overall and prices of restaurants are reasonable

One of the best hotels on lamai Beach The location is very good within walking distance to lamai street. But surprisingly it somehow remains quiet and calm. The - almost- private beach is amazing. The hotel is very clean and housekeeping is great. Breakfast is lovely and tasty. I especially recommend the garden villas which are beautiful and spacious. They also helped me with late checkout free of charge which was really nice and helpful.

Good spread of delicious breakfast! Room is reasonable and has Netflix. Pool is also smashing. Carpark included though spaces are limited! Very good stay with good service!

I stayed here for roughly three weeks and really enjoyed my time here. The resort is basic, but has everything you need if you like the beach/pool and are looking for entertainment outside the hotel. The place is kept neat and clean and the team I dealt with were all professional, attentive and friendly. Ratings are based on The Hive being everything you’d expect from a 3 star hotel. Only personal feedback is that I would love some more vegan options at the breakfast buffet (e.g. mushrooms not cooked in butter). I recommend The Hive and would come back :)

The Hive we stay at one bedroom villa was a neat place to stay. Room was getting old but very spacious lots of cabinets if you unpack your suit cases for longer stay. Toilet and shower basin was separate and really roomy. Quiet, outside porch ,has light, fan, chairs and lounger. Infinity pool is great but has no natural shade. Its the only jellyfish netted area on the beach if u want to swim without concern in the sea. I would recommend this place to my family and friends if they want to stay in Lamai.

We had the best time at The Hive. The staff were so accommodating from the moment we arrived - we arrived very early in the morning and they got our room ready straight away so that we could check in early at no extra cost. When we had an issue with a tour we booked (outside of the hotel) they contacted the tour guides for us. The breakfast buffet was amazing - always fully stocked with such a huge selection of continental breakfast foods. The bedroom was lovely and clean, they provided daily room service. The pool was great and the private beach area was perfect. We couldn’t recommend this hotel more, we will definitely be back!

For a 3 stars and the price (around 50-60 euros / night when we stayed), this hotel exceeds expectations. The rooms were clean, each with a balcony or terrace if you’re on the ground floor — in the middle of luxurious vegetation. The staff was very helpful with every request we had, including arranging a small birthday surprise for my mother (thank you!). The only two minor downsides are that the breakfast starts late (8:30am) and there’s not enough sun beds for everyone so you have to go early if you want to have a chance at staying by the pool. Other than that, can’t complain! Ideally located on Lamai beach, this is a perfect spot if you want to be near all amenities. If you don’t have a scooter, don’t worry! You can hail a collective bus/taxi from anywhere on the street and with a bit of negotiation, move around the coast quite easily and cheaply.

Really nice hotel, great location as it is just by the beach and has clean and comfortable rooms. I spent four nights in one of the villas and was positively surprised by value for money. I found reception to be very friendly and helpful with renting a scooter.

I've traveled the globe and this was by far one of the best hotel experiences I've had. Lamai Beach is charming and tje location of the hotel to the beach and to town is perfect. Breakfast was vast, happy hour drinks were quality, and lunch/dinner options were great. Open air restaurant overlooks the sea and service is impeccable. The incredible, hard working staff is what gives The Hive a five star vibe. They were always greeting with a smile and going the extra mile with genuine care. This is the number 1 spot on Lamai for price and quality. Stayed for two weeks and can't wait to return. Thanks for everything.

This is an excellent hotel resort , room is clean and services everyday , coffee , tea , water …. Top up . Breakfast is very good , both Thai and western always plenty for guest , restaurants dinner is excellent quality food serve both Thai food and western , good chef and staff . I love the beach right in front don’t have to walk , good swimming private beach , walking distance to many restaurants, shop around , highly recommended for family vacation . Staff are polite and friendly . We had a great time here and really enjoy ours stay from 11/08 - 15/8/ 22

Visited this hotel from the beach to enjoy sunbeds and grab something to eat. Very friendly staff, good location on Lamai beach, tasty Thai food, cold beer. Good prices, big portions.

We had a great time. The hotel is very well located, right by the beach. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are nice and clean. The only thing we didn’t like was the loud music that was constantly played by the pool.

The Hive Hotel has everything to be the perfect place to stay in Lamai beach. However, it needs some improvements on the standards of the rooms and facilities. The breakfast is open only at 08h30am and can't even have a coffee before.

Amazing hotel right on the beach. The hotel staff were so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and there was always plenty of staff around to help. They had a WhatsApp text service where you could message them for room service or if you had any questions which was great! And also a fire stick in the room which meant if weather was bad or you were having a quiet evening you had plenty to watch on the tv ! We went to stay at another hotel down the road once the mandatory 7 days sandbox requirement was finished but we regretted it instantly as this was so much better! I would 100% stay here again and would highly recommend. 😊

A very nice hotel at the beach in Lamai within a quiet garden. Very friendly service. The ladies at the reception are extremly helpful and the food in the restaurant is good.

We booked The Hive last minute, they had a very warming welcome and we’re very accommodating! The service in the hotel is spectacular. The free breakfast is a bonus, you have a variety of choices of fruit, cereals, english breakfast, croissants, juices, tea and coffee as an open buffet. The rooms are cleaned daily, fresh towels and fresh bedding. The rooms are spacious and modern. The pool opens up to the beach, with the best view you can get on Samui beach (personal opinion). It has a romantic feel without being overwhelming.

The Hive is perfectly located near most restaurants and bars in Lamai as well as being right on the beach. We stayed in a bungalow. It was nice and quiet not being attached to other rooms. Although getting a bit old, the bed and pillows were comfy. There are quite a few mosquitoes around the property and in the room. The pool area is very nice with plenty of loungers. The breakfast was basic but good, some items would run out by 830-9am.

I have been staying here since before it became Hive (formerly Lamai Wanta) and it is still a wonderful resort perfectly located on the beach in Lamai. The tropical garden is so nice to walk through every morning, and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. The only thing that could be improved is the variety at breakfast, and some of the rooms need new matresses (too soft/saggy, but this is a personal preference issue primarily). Will come again. :)

Casual place by the beach with swim pool and EXTREMELY GOOD SERVICE. I like to come after 3 pm for soft drinks and little bit of vitamin Sun. Congratulations for the place, you definitely got one of the best team of the island. Very friendly and helpful Sunny is a real gem.

On the first night we had an issue with the air conditioning not blowing out cold air. A quick walk to the reception and we were shortly given a new room. The air conditioning was perfect. On arrival, welcomed with a cold drink and refreshing hand towel. The room was spacious with plenty of storage and hanging space. Safe in the room and an umbrella to use on excursions. Four bottles of drinking water. Great touch! Breakfast was good and the chicken sausage was probably one of the better flavoured ones that I'd tasted in Thailand (pork sausage is rarely available) Great location on the beach, clean pool, well kept grounds. Across the road from the reception is an ATM if in need of cash. Lots of bars and restaurants within a very short walk. Made use of the laundry service, which seemed fairly priced.

Lovely rooms, cleaned every day by wonderful staff. Amazing price, facilities well maintained. Breakfast was lovely, amazing beachfront location. Lamai is a bit seedy, but sticking to the beach still gives plenty of options.

Amazing hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is delicious (you can chose what kind of eggs do you want and they make it fresh and delicious every day). The swimming pool is very nice. It's big enough that you can swim and chill on hot day. We stayed here at Christmas and got lovely surprise. It was very pleasant stay at this hotel.

As a regular visitor to Koh Samui I can not fault the Hive. Have stayed in a few hotels and this by far is top of my list. The service the staff the rooms no complaints it was excellent. Beachfront sun loungers and a lovely pool. The location is amazing right on Lamai Beach perfect. It is literally a 2 min walk into the centre of Lamai for the restaurants bars shops etc. Highly recommend this place

Nice garden and houses with balconies.close to beach. They have protective from fish net by the beach.good ,but crowdy pool. Found once a snake,it was caught later.around lots of bars and shops. Rooms are modest,insects come from doors. Still staying here is nice.

Been there already 2 times: November 2021 and December 2021. 1st in standard room which was ok for the rate. Unfortinately, the weather was bad in Samui so couldn't enjoy the facilities. Internet connection was good, clean room and good shower. The 2nd time, we choose the villa with seaview. Bit more expensive but better and bigger. Direct access to the pool and great view to the beach. In overall, The Hive is excellent choice for quality vs the price. The location in Lamai is perfect direct to the beach and walking to the bars and restaurant. The staff are very friendly.

Great spot right on the beach, also right in the middle of Lamai. Honest and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. We had a deluxe villa, which was spacious and very comfortable.

A great place to stay on Lamai beach! The hotel staff was so kind, great service at their restaurant - delicious food and drink and they have happy hour! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. The bathroom was a little outdated but still good water pressure and clean.

Really Nice accommodation in Lamai, Koh Samui. The Bungalows are bright, clean, quiet and with enough space. Staff ist really helpful and I liked that they seemed to have a lot of fun working. They were always very friendly and welcoming. The beach is pretty nice, so is the pool area and the view is just amazing. The Hive Restaurant is also very good! No matter what we ordered from the menu - everything was just delicious. Although it seems completely quiet at the hotel area - restaurant, bars and shopping opportunities are just around the corner. Great Place to stay! 👍

Great location right by the beach with smallish but good pool. Plenty of seating by pool and on beach. Very friendly, helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Good breakfast selection and good restaurant food.
