    The restaurant was on the second floor, giving a hard time for my mom who had knee problem. They opened in the afternoon while others closed at 2pm. I had doubt if the food would be good but it turned out great. The atmosphere was good b it staff barely communicated in English. However, they have English menu. We ordered beef set and beef with abalone set but the waitress didn’t brought the abalone. When we asked she just walked away. We had no idea if we had wrong order or abalone would be served later. When we called them, waitress rather hesitated to talked to us. It took a long while to sort things out. Beef was very delicious despite sitting for more than 10 minutes. It was tender in every bite, the best part was not too oily.

    I was not impressed with the service here. The food was ok but I just didn't feel very welcomed. I went to another restaurant for shabu shabu and sukiyaki. The proprietor of that one chatted with me and took care of every details of dinner. I didnt receive these attentions here at Aka Noren. Despite paying over 100 USD (their regular lunch menu is about 20 USD), I had to ask for tea, for napkins and for toothpicks. I rather felt neglected. I don't recommend this restaurant.

    Amazing food, great service, a balanced price. I make a reservation via visa premium secretary to have a preorder of a beef set as dinner. Its great steak make me feel happy, it cost only jpy 9000, and provide raw beef , steak ,and melon. Great dinner that I had experienced, I really recommend u to visit here.

    Ordered the sukiyaki - if you're on a budget and want to try Kobe beef, this place is alright though honestly I couldn't quite taste a big difference between slightly more expensive regular beef and this place. There was a huge wait as well, so it seems popular with locals and travelers alike but I'm not sure if the wait was worth it. Perhaps better to save money and put it down somewhere more pricey.

    Great Kobe beef, juicy, fatty, and tender. It's pretty much a set menu, so there would be minimal service. It's also difficult to order drinks, as the waitresses are usually not around. The waiting line is quite long, expect 60 minutes or longer. If you're okay with those, then the meal is worth it.

    Pricey, but delicious. The main dish of Kobe Beef on rice was--frankly--bland. But with a bit of salt and a smidge of wasabi, it was much better. That Main, 8 side dishes, pickles, and miso cost 2800 yen, and we were happy with our meal.
