Today I ordered the Kobe beef, finest fillet steak(lunch set), and I asked the chef what the difference is between Kobe beef and wagyu beef. He said it is the difference between beef marbling. The dishes were delicious.👍👍

When in Kobe, Kobe beef is obviously a must. But which restaurant, when nearly all restaurants offer the famous meat? Well to be honest you could probably pick any and find the beef delicious. We picked the Royal Mouriya and weren’t disappointed. Hidden away on the second floor, it feels a little more on the serious, high-end scale of Kobe beef restaurants. It’s spacious and elegantly designed, with an old New York style bar theme. Ok the meat ranges in prices and cuts, and there are a few lunch set options, we went for a mid-range sirloin cut. The starter comes with a soup and freshly baked roll with hand whipped butter to melt over it. The beef was expectedly delicious. As I went for rare, it was expertly cooked by our own Chef in front of us, who gave the meat enough heat to seal the juicy flavours but still let texture of the meat not become too hardened. The meal was a treat and if you want the full experience of fine dining when you want to sample the wagyu this could be the boat you’ve been looking for.

This is by far the best KOBE BEEF A5 grade that i had tasted in Kobe Japan. The real deal of "melt in your mouth" chunk of beef that can bring you in high heavens. Although the price is a bit pricey, but it was well worth it. There are choices of other A5 japanese wagyu from other prefectures at a much lower price, but who cares...i went there for the KOBE BEEF & not for anything else. Never mind if it is worth a fortune. The place is clean with super friendly staff always ready to assist.

Excellent place to try your first Kobe beef. If you are going with another friend, they recommended you to try two cuts of beef with different texture. We ordered the kobe beef sirloin and also the kobe beef fillet. The fillet melts in your mouth while the sirloin is soft and rich in flavour. They also cook you assorted vegetables with perfection. It is pricy, yet every penny worths. A down side is that after tasting such delicacy, you no longer want to eat ordinary sirloins anymore… P.S. booking is highly recommended! They have very limited seatings! I was lucky enough to book a table for 2 on the day before but had to dine at 11am which is when the shop just opens.

Best Premium Kobe beef restaurant you'll find in Kobe city. Reservation is required probably 2 weeks or more ahead. Was going for Royal Mouriya but fully booked despite booking in advance for 2 weeks. Plenty of A5 Kobe beef to choose from. Be advised you are trying with the premium beef so expect the price will be on the high side. The A5 beef really just melt into your mouth. The chef and crew can speak minor English and Mandarin. They'll also guide you on how to taste first to your premium beef. The restaurant is clean and free of oil smoke. Fine dining and the staff are really friendly. Good for solo travellers and small sized groups.

Great personalised services. Food was cooked and served with clear explanation & in accordance to our consumption speed for maximum quality. Thank you very much. Undoubtedly one of our best teppanyaki experiences amongst many.

My wife and I came to this restaurant by accident in 2007, and we had a great meal here. After 16 years, we come here again with my 2 children. Our family loves all the food here, especially Kobe steak. Great food and service. Will come back again next time.

We had an incredible meal of Kobe fillet and sirloin. The staff was very polite and spoke English. They were able to accommodate a gluten-free guest (you just don't eat two of the steak sauces). The appetizer was excellent. The vegetables were great. However, the slow grilled and translucent garlic chips were the perfect match for the Kobe beef. I also greatly enjoyed the wasabi and sea salt as a steak topping. In hindsight, I'd purchase the sirloin over the fillet as both were excellent. I hope to return one day.

We had the pleasure of dining at MOURIYA SANNOMIYATEN in Kobe, and I must say, it was an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a rustic yet elegant décor. The service was impeccable; the staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the cuts of meat, and offered fantastic recommendations. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the steak itself. We ordered the A5 sirloin, the meat was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful sear on the outside and a tender, juicy interior that practically melted in my mouth. The flavors were expertly seasoned, enhancing the natural taste of the high-quality beef. The menu offered a variety of cuts and preparation styles, catering to different preferences, and each dish was a masterpiece. To accompany the steak, the wine selection was impressive, offering a perfect pairing for every palate. The side dishes were equally impressive, with flavorful options of vegetable and condiments that complemented the main course wonderfully. Overall, our experience at this stake house was nothing short of exceptional. It's the kind of place you'll want to visit again and again to savor the incredible flavors and enjoy the top-notch service. If you're a steak enthusiast or simply someone looking for an unforgettable dining experience, I can't recommend this place enough. It's a true culinary gem in the heart of Kobe.

Found this place and managed to secure a reservation despite making one pretty late (about 2-3 weeks in advance). Ordered the Kobe Beef Sirloin 200g set menu and the food did not disappoint. While the price was close to 260,000 yen, I did not regret making that order. The beef was tender and melt in your mouth, while the other dishes served was a great pairing with the beef. Most importantly, the chef in-charge of my table was really friendly and made various recommendations on how to best enjoy the beef. The only down side was that there were a few families in the restaurant with kids running about and speaking at the top of their voice. While I understand it was no fault of the restaurant, it slightly decreased the overall experience.

An excellent place to try the best Kobe beef that Kobe has to offer. While on the pricier side, You are guaranteed to be treated to an excellent cook by the chef as well as amazingly well cooked beef. We had the ribeye and sirloin Kobe steak, both cooked to absolute perfection. We were also guided by our chef as to how to properly eat the steak which was very helpful. Overall, we had no complaints from this restaurant and would highly recommend it to any travellers wanting to experience true Kobe beef.

Noted that this place is more frequented by foreigners than locals (required reservation in advance), and prices are steep, but the quality of the beef is just top notch. We had the 120g Kobe rump steak (7,560 yen) and 150g Kobe finest ribeye steak (17,850 yen). They served an appetiser with some med-rare beef tartare with red wine sauce and chestnut puree. The beef blended well with the sauce and the beef was just so tender. The chef will cook the beef (cut into bite size) in front of you with garlic and beef fats. He will also cook the seasonal vegetables (ours is lotus root, eggplant and bean sprouts). The beef slices are the most tender that we had and the sauces (soy sauce with vinegar and miso sauce) blended well with the beef. As we ordered garlic fried rice, the chef will cook it after the beef with the caramelised beef fat. Perfect end to the dinner.

Didn’t manage to get a reservation but staff were so kind and put us down for the next opening. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the chef was very charismatic and even took photos for us to commemorate the occasion. Service team was polite and attentive, every course was served promptly with utmost professionalism. Overall lovely experience to enjoy quality melt-in-your-mouth Kobe beef, definitely recommend!

I wanted to try Kobe meat for some time and found this place because it was super recommended and considered one of the best places in all Kobe. The experience was very positive. A chef dedicated only to you prepares the whole dinner, cooking vegetables and the steak (rice, vegetables, water and coffee are included in the price). The quality of the meat is phenomenal and it is cooked perfectly. I also thoroughly enjoyed the meat broth served at the beginning of the meal, which was really delicious. Clearly the price is not cheap because of the high price of the raw material and the dedicated chef for all the service. I made a reservation the day before, and in the confirmation email I was told to be fiscal with delays, otherwise the reservation would be cancelled. I agree with this choice because the organisation, having one chef per person, must surely not be simple. I recommend trying it at least once in a lifetime.

It was a great dining experience for us as we can see how the chef cooked right in front of us. The "basic" 8000yen Kobe beef set we ordered was within expectation (nothing special). To be honest I would recommend ordering A5 steak if you want to try Kobe beef. Don't go for anything less than 10,000yen.

Kobe beef is so soft and tender that I do not really have to chew it. It is expensive but worth the price for the A5 grade. Definitely will come back again if I am in Kobe. Well done for Shimizu-san that cook the meat very well.

Kobe beef was simply out of this world. Great atmosphere, and you see the dish being made before your own eyes. This restaurant is not cheap.

Quality of the beef is good. Although I'm not sure if I'm actually eating kobe beef because there were there no certifications provided at the start of the meal. I also ordered a seafood set and the prawns were not fresh. Overall, you should find a better store around.

Great service and education on Kobe beef. Hard to distinguish quality over other top Japanese beef, even their own Moriya gyu. The garlic fried rice is 100% the highlight, highly recommended!

My friends and I ordered from the champion Kobe wagyu menu—2 sirloin steaks and a ribeye. The chef put on quite a show and was very skilled with his tools so it was quite the experience—exactly what I was looking for in Kobe! The steaks were so good and savory. The ribeye was just the right amount of buttery. The chef gave us recommendations on how to eat the steak, but to be 100% honest, I couldn’t tell the difference between the champion Kobe wagyu vs the regular Kobe wagyu I’ve been eating. With that being said, I’d recommend ordering the regular Kobe menu items because the price difference is huge. Service was excellent. They greeted us as soon as we exited the elevator (they’re one the 2nd floor). They took our coats and gave us bins for our backpacks. They even stored and locked our umbrellas for us.

I wanted to have Kobe beef in Kobe and it did not dissapoint! I had the sirloin and the chef made it as a steak and also made some parts into a sprout salad. The soup and veggies were also delicious! Service was awesome! Not cheap but if you want to splurge on a good meal, this is it!

The beef itself was good but I didn’t feel it was that much better than beef found in less expensive restaurants. It might be worth coming if you’ve never tried Kobe beef.

Amazing Kobe beef, super service, very nice place to dine for a celebration. Prices can be expensive depending on what set you order, but it's worth the experience!

Good quality beef and service. Course meal was good and do get an ala carte fried rice if you still have some stomach space after the course!

excellent lunch service and food! Ordered the round cut beef and the chef will guide you on how which condiment to add to your food to get the best flavour possible. You may want to reserve beforehand as it does get quite packed during lunch time

Chef Ryo was a great host and made excellent work of the meat. A true showman and nice guy. The staff were also very friendly and redirected me to this location as I had not made a reservation at the main restaurant nearby. Everyone made an effort to understand my Japanese and tried to relay things I couldn't understand in English. Definitely worth the money just for the experience. Great food, hospitality, and service.

Excellent service! The chef offered to take a photo for us before he started cooking, not very typical in Japan. The steak was divine!
