An Iconic Hotel of Kobe. Our favourite things about this hotel are the view and breakfast. The hotel is quite a distance away from the train station, but there is a free shuttle from Mint Kobe to the hotel, or you can also take a loop bus (port loop). We booked via agoda and had to do self check in, which was a bit of a hussle, but the staff was helpful. The hotel is classy and beautiful, but there are signs of old age in some areas. We booked west facing room, which offers a beautiful view, but it was a little dated. (Some of the rooms have been newly renovated, but it was a bit too steep for our budget). However, the amenities were really good, plus the bed was comfy. Another highligh of the hotel is the quality breakfast with awesome view. Great mixed between Western style and japanese style breakfast with freshly squeeze orange juice and a great omelette. The overall service was good, but somehow, i did not really feel welcome by the staff.

The best breakfast in the whole wide WORLD Fantastic Hotel, Fantastic Ambience And Fantastic Service and Fantastic Breakfast. Just imagine having burgers (Better than McDonald ) as much as you can. Along with freshly squeezed Orange juice and many many more items. What else you want in life my friends 😄

Room is nothing special for how much it is. Service is sub-standard and the location isn’t great either. There’s nothing to do around the hotel. The hotel is old fashioned and definitely hasn’t seen it’s glory days since 1990s. You notice it because almost all the guests are old people. Looks good on website but very disappointed with the stay. There are much nicer hotels in Kobe.

Stayed at the Kobe Meriden Park Oriental Hotel when I went to watch my nephew’s concert at a nearby summer event. This is a very nice hotel with an interior courtyard so all of the doors and walkways are inside of the hotel, looking down to the lobby area. The hotel and rooms are all very clean and well maintained. Room was large than a typical Japanese hotel room which was nice. Views, especially during the evenings are great and the grounds surrounding the property are well lit and offer nice walking paths. The only downside with the hotel is that shopping and dining are a bit of a ways away, so be prepared to do a lot of walking.

Truly a mixed bag. Great service but no English assistance. Beautiful views of the area. Sufficient amenities and conveniently a smart TV in the room. No usable microwave. Guests also have to pay to use the pool, gym and bar; I am disappointed that is not counted in the room fee. Breakfast is delicious, highly recommend getting a package with breakfast included. Shuttle service is prompt, and again if you speak Japanese the staff is amazing and accomodating.

A surprisingly disappointing Japanese hotel. Litter in the room from the last guest. The front concierge is atrocious. You run a hotel with 350+ rooms, but when a guest would like to ship luggage, gets directed to the in-house mini convenience store, who is already struggling to handle the volume of customers. I can’t imagine what would happen to family mart if everyone leaves their luggage with them. There is only one socket available for use in the room. The other one beside the entrance is used for housekeeping but on the contrary there are more than two sockets in the toilet for use. As for the power situation, Guests are presumed to sit down and read books while watching cassette tapes on television just like back in the day when the hotel opened back in 1995. The Location of the property also doesn’t synergise with the dynamic of the city of Kobe. I believe that the current management of this hotel has run this beautiful property into the ground. One star for being present and conducting business and one star for how lovely the property is. I would recommend any other hotel over this.

The walk from the subway is a little bit of a hike but not too bad. The view from the room is beautiful at night with all the lights. We stayed in Room 1336 which is spacious and has a wrap around balcony. The room is updated with plenty of outlets to charge devices. I have always dreamed of staying at this hotel and I was not disappointed. When we walked into the room, my husband's first reaction was that it was "swanky".

The surrounding, the interior and exterior of the hotel is excellent regarding its price. The hotel also gives you a magnificent sea view. The only down is the location. It is not that convenient unless you are driving. There is also a cheaper car park right next to the hotel. Would recommend if you are driving.

The hotel is located at the verge of Haborland, with good restaurants, cafes and shopping within walking distance. There is free shuttle bus to ferry hotel guests to the train station. Very convenient. And must say the night view with all the lightings from the close by buildings are just so awesome. The staff at the frontdesk is helpful and provide good answers to all our queries. The room is however a little old and worn to my liking. That’s the only disappointment I had during my stay

Stayed here as part of my tour. The rooms need refurbishment. Carpet was disgusting. Stained and filthy. Balcony is nice, with lovely views. Breakfast had plenty of options and interesting choices. Not convenient location, but free shuttle service to busy areas.

Great location in a wonderful hotel with great service, kind staff, good food, a cool high-rise bar, and clean rooms with picturesque views of Kobe and the wharf area.

Loved this hotel. Probably my favorite one of our Japan visit. Lovely views, excellent food and a beautiful area to take a walk around. Would recommend getting a taxi to and from the train station.

Nice hotel but the location might be a bit of a problem when you want to explore the city. It’s just a bit too far off but otherwise recommendable!

Was in Japan for business. Stayed at this enchanting five star, iconic hotel facing the bay in Kobe. Booked in their newly renovated executive room, well designed with pampering in mind, it came with a spacious balcony facing the tranquil bay and executive lounge access. In fact, all their rooms have balconies. Unwinding and relaxing to my heart’s content after a busy day. I’m almost ready to sink into the plush bed, but blissful sleep can wait. Have to conduct a meeting at their amazing meeting room first. Highly recommended when in Kobe, Japan.

Free stay for my 2 children and got free extra bed, beautifull view from our balcony. 1km distance to Mozaic, the view and weather are nice for walking with kids. lots of shops and restaurants in there. My recommendation : buy breakfast at Starbucks or order Uber Eats and eat on the bench at Kobe Port, it's very enjoyable while looking at the red leaves, the beautiful view of the harbor and the kids freely running around. I know this Hotel is Iconic Hotel in Kobe and old enough, so I don't mind with the old furniture as long as it is clean and functional. but there were 2 flying cockroaches that disturbed our night's sleep.

Lovely views but the extra amount for the sea view might not worth it because the view of the mountains is as beautiful and is not an extra charge. Average rooms, not contemporary, not new, old carpets but good space and well equipped for a couple of days.

Our room had a fabulous view of the water and the service was great! The breakfast food was also amazing! Definitely recommend!

This hotel is kind of emblematic in Kobe because of its location and its shape. Its location is really awesome and you can find some room at a pretty cheap price (depends on the time you are booking of course). About the location : 30 minutes by foot from the city center right next to the Kobe Port Tower. I think it's perfect if you are staying few days for the first time in Kobe. The staff is really helpful and welcoming. The installations are quite old but it's okay. Everything is still clean.

The hotel is a great deal for the price. The rooms were a bit tired (especially the carpet) but the bathrooms seemed recently remodeled. Definitely book a room on the west side for the best views. The breakfast buffet is worth the extra price too, so many options and quite fun to try everything! Just consider it brunch.

It was nice because it was an ocean view. The staff is very kind. I got assigned to the 10th floor and it was good.

Great location, service, best breakfast buffet, very extensive from Japanese to all American breakfast.. actually much more than just breakfast menus. When you go, you will know what I am saying. Burgers are good… if you are up for a burger in the morning. Anyway, the hotel is located in the best area for you to enjoy Kobe. A few walks from “Be Kobe” friendly staff, quiet room. Very strict check in and out time. I had a meeting at 10:30 for an hour so I asked them if I could check out at 11:30 but they informed me that there is a 2000yen per hour fee after 11 am. So I had to change my meeting with ppl in the US to 10 am so I could leave the room at 11. I worked at major brand hotels for over 10 years in the U.S. so this was a bit strange for me to see this. But I guess it is just a different culture. My room was south view. It is a bit more than other views but so worth it. I will definitely return in the summer.

Free shuttle bus from Sanomiya station every 20 minutes. Good location for photo takings both on day time and night time. I didn't use the restaurants in this hotel Instead, I had my dinner in Mosaic (restaurant building 10 minutes walking distance) and had my breakfast in Starbuck coffee in the park. Each room has small balcony and you can enjoy either sea view or mountain (harbour) view. The amenities are sufficient and prepared for you in the bath room. (It is a kind of trendy thing that in the other hotels, you need to ask the front desk to give you....) The Sony TV is huge and you can see many programs including youtube. WiFi is free and password is not written on your room key but on your TV screen(you need to switch on TV first)

This is my favorite Hotel in Japan! The views from all rooms are beautiful! But the South room is the best for me ‘cause you can see the sea seating on a beautiful sofa outside.

This hotel has all the elements of a fancy hotel: professional and friendly staff, amazing interior design, phenomenal view, 5 star facilities, the largest hotel room and comfiest hotel bed I've experienced in Japan so far. However, I removed a star as our hotel carpet was badly stained in multiple areas. My husband also commented how far it was from the sights such as chinatown (only a 15 minute walk) compared to the other hotels.

I had such a great stay at this hotel! Everything from the service to the view from the balcony/room was amazing. Our room faced out to the Kobe Port Tower and we could see all of Meriken Park from our room. It was beautiful both day and night. The breakfast at the hotel was really nice too. There was a large selection of delicious food buffet style. I would love to come back here again. Even though I've been to Kobe countless times, staying here made it feel like I was experiencing Kobe for the first time in a way!

The hotel has the perfect location at the port and from the outside it makes quite an impression to the observer. However the interior of the rooms is old and worn down. The staff at the front desk is so-so friendly and if you come back to the hotel at night, they switch off the escalator, so you have to climb the stairs all the way up.

The hotel is situated in a quiet and beautiful part of Kobe, facing the waters. Great room size considering its Japan. Only problem is that the hotel is a little old, and you have to walk quite a distance to get to the main Sannomiya area. That said, there's complimentary hotel transfer to the main shopping area so it's not really a problem. All in, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in a quieter part of Kobe.

Need best possible room in the city ? Don't look anywhere else. With 5 different restaurants and breathtaking views right out of your balcony day or night you won't feel like going anywhere else. Being situated at the port is a bug plus as everything is very closely located. Staff is courteous and kind, and the room service is what you'd expect from a Japanese 5 star place - just outstanding. I loved the place and highly recommend.

We had a twin room with a balcony and a great view! Room was spacious enough for us. The staff we dealt with were all very friendly. Since we arrived on Sunday, we were able to take advantage of the free shuttle from Shin-Kobe to the hotel. They only offer the shuttle to/from Shin-Kobe on the weekends and Japanese national holidays, but on the other days they still offer free shuttle to Sannomiya Station which is helpful also. Location is great! We walked to the Luminarie illumination event and there are some great restaurants and shops nearby. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Nice coffee machine in the room. Great skybar Could do with some more check in counters and maybe look in to streamlining the check out process. You are required to line up for the check out as you would for the check in. This can be quite cumbersome when trying to make a quick exit. The hotel has a frequent free buss service that takes you in to the heart of Sannomiya; very convenient considering the location. Rooms were very basic, although the sky bar is quite something housing beautiful views of the surround port.

Loved it! The balcony really enhanced our experience. However, the double room was ⅔ the size of the twin bed room, and for two westerners, the double room was a bit of a tight squeeze. The breakfast was just exquisite and fantastic location. Breathtaking interior.
