I had the pleasure of staying at Galo Hostel, and it was truly a delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the charm of the place. One highlight of my stay was the unique opportunity to craft my own onigiri - a hands-on experience that added an authentic touch to my trip. Engaging in conversation with Mei and other staff members was an absolute delight, as their insights and warm demeanor made my stay even more memorable. The attention to cleanliness at Galo Hostel was exceptional. The entire place was immaculate, and the meticulous tidiness reflected the high standards of Japanese hospitality. It was evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a pristine environment for their guests. Overall I can highly recommended this place to anyone visiting Kobe!

This is an amazing place to stay. The guesthouse is close to Shin-Kobe station within walking distance. You can walk for 30 minutes to go to the Meriken Park for beautiful landscape. The host was super nice and friendly, and she not only provided breakfast but also spent time teaching us make rice ball. In addition, every facilities are clean in the guesthouse, and the atmosphere is quiet. I’d recommend the place to everyone who come to Kobe :)

    1. Convenient location: It's very close to Shin-Kobe station. And there's a Family Mart next to it, so you can easily grab some snacks or drinks anytime you want. 2. Nice living area: walking around the neighborhood is cozy and relaxed. You'll feel the peaceful vibe of the area. 3. Unforgettable cultural experience: handmade Japanese rice balls as breakfast is not only delicious but also a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture.

Had a great stay. Hostel was clean and cosy. Friendly host, nice little sitting area, ideal location: close to bus stop & family mart and in a more calm side of the city that is close to the mountain & herb gardens. Thank you!

Lovely little hostel with a personal feeling. Conveniently located next to the shin Kobe station and right at the base of the hill for a good hike up. At expectations for simplicity and you'll enjoy e.g. the rice ball making in the morning.

Great, clean hostel. The host was very kind and thoughtful. Only downside is that the hostel is a bit noisy. Definitely recommend the Japanese style room.

The staff was really helpful. The overall experience amazing, they even taught us how to make our own onigiri! Location is just off the shinkazen train station, and next to amazing hiking trails. Highly recommend!

Convenient location for people who would like to visit rose garden, hiking or just take a walk nearby. Also near from kobe san no miya(神戸三宮) and can visit there by bus in 12 minutes. The guesthouse allows self check in if you need to checkin later than service time (1pm-6pm) There are green tea and cocoa powder at the kitchen, also some guide maps available both in Japanese and English. Awesome Breakfast experience and staff (Definitely the best part of the staying❤️) Reminder:The guesthouse doesn’t have elevator so don’t bring heavy luggage that is off your limit

The host is super nice and friendly, you feel directly are home. Beds are comfortable and the hostel is well located (especially if you travel with a JR pass).

The location is great, right next to Shin Kobe. The host is incredible and gave us wonderful tips for restaurants to experience food that would have been very difficult to find on our own. Comfortable rooms as well and tastefully decorated with the hosts travel memories.

A really modern little hostel situated right next to shin-kobe Station, which is rather handy. Staff are english speakers and so helpful with suggestions of things to do. The decor is really cool with Banksy stencils and woodchip walls and there is a ton of really useful information available in the Common room. I shall be visiting again!

A very good hostel that I definitely will come again. The owner is so kind and interesting. The time talked with the owner is awesome. The owner prepared all kinds of Kobe traveling information that you can ask him.

I stayed here on two different occasions and I loved the place. It’s clean and the owner is friendly. It’s less than a 10 minute walk from Shin Kobe. The area is quite and near a market and a coin laundry. The shower rooms can be a little stuffy but overall I would recommend it.

Very lovely hostel, the host is friendly and they have all facilities you need, close to 三宮 station which by walk 20mins or by bus 10 mins. The room is spacious at this price, do recommend if you are looking for a cozy hostel.

For my recent trip to the Kansai area, I have stayed at multiple places including a 4.5 star hotel in Kobe and a 5-star hotel in Osaka. I must say Galo Hostel provided the best experience in terms of guest interaction. The place itself is also nice and clean. I can’t thank the owner enough for his recommendation on good restaurants.
