In my 5 years of backpacking and travel, this is the worst hostel I have stayed at. While the location is good and has accessibility, nothing about this property is worth its price. I paid 650rs per night. Issues: zero cleanliness in the room dirty beds with spider webs and dust around the bunk beds smelly and disgusting pillows, sheets, and blankets cramped up rooms, 6 beds stuffed into a <100 sq feet area rat-infested, ugly, diseases-borne entry through the back alley DO NOT STAY HERE, PLEASE. I don't know how this place has 4.1 on Google. These reviews must be super old because this is the trashiest place I have stayed at.

I had a great stay and there you can enjoy very much Amazing environment. Amazing ambience. A suite feel perfect for backpackers. Superb games. Amazing service. I stayed in the month of July. Located in heart of Kolkata, it provided a great connectivity to local areas for me to visit. Food was accessible. Transport was convinient. Would recommend surely!!!

I stayed here for two nights and felt this is not a worthy place. Except location I give 1 rating to all. Entrance: Dirty, Ugly and disease borne, you need to take stairs for two floors as lift wonโ€™t work for most of the time and owners are least bothered about it. Room: 6 beds in 100 sfts size room, even two people canโ€™t stand at the same time Beds are cleaned twice a day, mosquitoes welcome you rather than receptionist Cleanliness: Toilets are not cleaned, they are very small, no hot water, hangers. Overall you donโ€™t feel taking bath here. Kitchen: Very dirty, you wonโ€™t feel going inside Balcony: You will feel happy as this is the only place to sit and enjoy the outside view and have drinks but again not neat and clean. They can keep the place clean and comfortable with the price they quote else they should not charge anything as it looks like a government hostel. If you compromise on the above and only looking for location then stay else AVOID.

I had a delightful 2-day stay at Backpackers Park Hostel in Kolkata. The hostel boasts excellent amenities, creating a comfortable and enjoyable experience. From well-maintained communal spaces to convenient facilities, it provided a perfect base for my exploration of the city. The friendly staff added to the positive atmosphere, making it a memorable stay for any traveler.

I am travelling from past 7 years and this was probably the worst hostel experience. I explored a lot of other stay options in kolkata. I will suggest book any treebo hotel for 900 rs rather than wasting ur money here. Wont recommend this place for even 200 rs with such customer service.

GROSSE BED BUG INFESTATION AMONG OTHER FACTORS! I have videos of the bugs too. I let the staff know and I really hope they do a full on treatment because it was absolutely grosse. It is a very old building and the entrance is from the back alley of a hotel where the wet waste of the hotel is stored and its pretty gross honestly. The staircase had two dead rats and the elevator was super slow and had some flying cockroaches. Once you arrive at the hostel, they have made it cleanish on the inside, good lighting and have a decent balcony overlooking park street. So I was okay to stay there still however the bed bugโ€™s completely traumatised me because its a proper infestation ๐Ÿซ  Even the bathrooms are pretty grosse and they are co-ed, so it is really not a great facility for female travellers. Itโ€™s proper unhygienic bathrooms, no hooks for clothes in the shower area, dirty basins, no place to even keep toothbrush. I didnt want to touch anything. I wouldnโ€™t recommend hostels in Calcutta at all, I tried another one too. Better to get yourself a hotel, there are decent options for 2-3k. They didnt offer me a refund but honestly I just wanted to get out so I didnโ€™t fight. The staff was kind, so that was the only nice thing.

The location is fantastic. The front desk service appears to be satisfactory. One significant issue is that the dorm is at least 30% overcrowded. In comparison, I can't emphasize how crowded it is. They've crammed 9 beds into a room that's no bigger than 100 square feet! That does not justify the rent, however.

All the bad reviews about this is are correct . This the most horrible place you can choose for yourself . This place is garbage. The entrance is unsafe and garbage area ,the lift doesn't work, Rooms are hell congusted especially women dormitory. Not a single window and you cant breathe .combine washroom are worst then general compartment of railways. The staircase are dirty and also there is a dead rats which they never clean. Above all the manger, receptionist and care taker are rude , ill- mannered , they have no sense of hospitality. When i complaint about the unhygienic conditions they were defending themselves and also shouted at me and told me terko rehna hai toh reh varna nikal ja idhar sai . They are goons . Just dont come here . Please ๐Ÿ™ safe yourself. All the good reviews are fake and paid. This is place is hell on earth

The location was the greatest merit for this hostel. But cleanliness is a major issue against the price paid. The free breakfast was good & mix of people staying for an occasion like 25th December Park Street really helps in cultural awareness. Need to buy small Rs30 locks for safeguarding your backpacks in cupboards, no safety for trolleys.

I visited the place on 31st to spend a nice time with my friends. I did and I returned the next morning with a happy heart. However the reason for my poor review ain't the stay but the host! The day we were checking in, due to internet issue through UPI the money was stuck in processing, the recipient at the Hostel were not patient enough to receive the money after sometimes. I paid them again the next time and it was successful. Now the day, I found two transactions successful. So I sought for a refund, and I have been following up ever since. It's been two weeks. First week they spent on checking with the bank, The second week I spent on following them up and just receiving one date after another. I have still not got my refund and this is outrageous. They are not picking my call up or reply to my texts, even after they did confirm that they have received two payments and I am eligible for a refund.

I was kinda impressed with the reviews in Google and Booking.com that's how I chose to stay here. But once I reached there, i got to know they don't have a safe parking for the vehicle. You have to park at some streets taking all the risk or look for some private parking nearby which may costs upto 300/- per day. So I suggest if you are planning to stay in this hostel, please don't come with your own vehicle. Especially motorbike. You can't park anywhere nearby safely.

The vibe of this place (backpackers) is awesome. Must stay if you are visiting Kolkata. This is at famous park street near moulin rouge. The place was neat and clean. Maintaining all hygiene and staff behavior was amazing. They have kitchen also you can prepare food by your own. The bathrooms and beds are totally clean. And you can play, dance, read, eat & enjoy with your friends if you wanna spend weekend getaway near park street. Backpackers is must recomend place to stay. I am in love with the environment.

This is really a decent place to stay. This place offers continental breakfast and even you can cook your food here, they keep everything besides you've to carry raw materials, a refrigerator having cold water , they also provide filter water, Wi-Fi, Magazines and newspapers, Televisiรณn, they have a common terrace where you can socialize and have a good time with your company plus you'll meet here many people across the world. Staffs are really cordial and cooperative, they have bed system with AC in every room ranging from Rs650- 1500. I had a good time here, meeting new people. Check-in timing is 14:00 - 14:30 and check-out timing is 11:00 - 11:30.

I recently had an unpleasant experience at a hostel. It's situated behind a restaurant, with a strong smell, sewage problems, crows scavenging, and people bathing openly. There's also casual garbage disposal. I believe Goibibo should reconsider listing them. As a solo traveler, I've stayed in various hostels, and this one is among the worst. I'd prefer alternative accommodations, even in less conventional settings.

One of the worst stay you can find in Kolkata!! The prices are totally different from the online website , and also the location of the hostel is inside a unhygienic gully behind a garbage disposal area of a pub so you can find a long of wildlife life rats and stuffs. If you want a happy Kolkata trip kindly avoid this hostel โ˜บ๏ธ.

the quality of the accommodation provided by the beach resort can significantly impact visitor satisfaction. Guests may evaluate the quality of the amenities offered, including the design and cleanliness of the rooms, the availability of modern features such as air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and the quality of the overall service provided by the hotel staff.

I recently stayed here for 4 days for Durga Puja. Dorm room is little conjested for 6 People, entrance is from back side of food courts where they cook and the place is not heigenic. Apart from these I am fine with rest. Washrooms are good. If you can pass on room spacing and back door entry you can try this stay

This hostel is in middle of parkstreet, parkstreet is on of the most famous secured & live place to stay. All restaurants near my attractive. New market, mirza galib road near by location is a prime area. The hostel staff is like family. They serve breakfast every morning. Its must visit hostel for solo traveler or in groups

The hostel is nice and clean. A little cramped up but alright. Has a good balcony space with tables and opens into a kitchen. The kitchen was messed up and dirty. The approach to the hostel is a filthy gully with rats the size of my shoes. FYI I'm a UK 10.

Bed , washroom fittings , shelf , A/c etc are good . But they could maintain it much more clean . After spending a night ,I got upper respiratory infection . I did sopt booking , 800 for a Dorm is quiet expensive. There are no common space to sit and talk like zostel ,piggy or happy panda . Even Zostel don't charge this much for a 6 bed dorm .

The rooms are a bit compact, but the best location. It's right across the street from Flurys and a few 100ms walk from the metro station. Mr.Anand Punj is a great host who's often found in the properties Verandah. Me and my brother had some great conversations with him, and our overall experience at the hostel was amazing. There are ample washrooms (common) and the AC works great. It's a steal deal given the great location.

Yes, the place is really good for lonewalkers. Here, you will get lots of ppl of different culture and origin. To find this place is bit tricky. Best part is that just search the Lenskart outlet or Kusum rolls at parkstreet. Take the right turn from the Lenskart and walk straight to a gully, then again right turn and you will find the weirdest entrance kind of dharawi type and just walk few steps and on right side you will find the entrance and just take the lift and reach to second floor. Pay your rent and enjoy your stay. You will find three types of Dorm like 6bed, 4bed and 3 bed depending upon your suitability pay the rent. Inside you will find a study area, beautiful cafeteria with parkstreet view. Overall your stay will be very comfortable here.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE! After reading other reviews, I realize those are paid reviews, none of the high rating people have stayed here! If you want to have a pleasant trip, then stay out of this place, look somewhere else and increase your budget preferable. - Entrance of this place is from backside, where people are literally cooking food, very dirty entrance. - Lift never worked and you have to go to 2nd follow. Dead rats everywhere in the stairs, really horrible place. - They have very small rooms and in a single room there are 3 stacked beds which is very crammed and uncomfortable to stay at. You can only sleep here! - On top of that there's so much water leaking from AC, the whole floor was wet! - Shared toilets/washrooms are unusable! They are even worse than train toilets. You can never use it. I don't know how they have managed to keep such a high rating but trust me, avoid this place at all costs otherwise you will regret it real bad. Try increasing your budget so atleast you can have a better holiday experience.

Perfect Location at Park Street very close to major places of visit in Kolkata. The positives end right there. Firstly, the place is a little difficult to spot. Then entrance to this place will put you off because it is a small gully which is the back entrance of restaurants where the dishes are done. So the gully is almost always wet. The lift that takes you to the backpacker's hostel on the 2nd floor is excruciatingly slow. One would rather take the slow lift than walk up the stairs which are dirty, greasy and has no lighting at all. There are common baths with hot water facility and western commode toilets, but these are extremely small. The Dorm rooms are extremely small and one I stayed had one table built by some novice carpenter thrown in to keep the baggage. There was a carrom board tucked away in one corner which I wonder had never been put to use in ages. There were storage shelves, and one can purchase a lock for Rs. 30 at the reception to keep any valuables locked up. The AC was functional, but only just. The remote was not working and the temperate set was a fixed 25 degrees, which was uncomfortable. The trash was never emptied and the trash bins in the balcony area and the kitchen was almost always overflowing with empty liquor bottles, chips packets and tables littered with cigarette butts. The kitchen area was extremely dirty and badly maintained. The tea sauce pan handle was coming off, one of the two induction cooktops was not functional and the other was greasy and dirty with the buttons on the induction top being non functional and a separate circuit board with buttons put in place to make it functional. All kinds of masala packets were kept open and the refrigerator is something worth not even mentioning. No wonder there was a mouse of two running around the kitchen (felt like the Mouse from the movie Ratatouille, which probably dished out an impressive meal). The owner of the place seems to be least bothered about the place and was only boasting about the location and the price. I wonder if foreigners would ever stay at this place if it is so dirty and badly maintained. For almost Rs. 700 per night per person, one expects a better deal. I have stayed in Agra and Chennai backpackers dorms at a lesser price with are much cleaner and better maintained. I would advice people to think twice before booking this place and would never recommended this place.
