Worst experience in Thailand- did not feel safe. Went in to get a spliff, prices ranged from 600-1000 baht for one gram (very expensive compared to every other place we have been) Kindly explained this was a bit out of our price range and that we only wanted a little bit and politely asked if he would be willing to do a half gram but said if not no problem we would just stay for one drink instead. The owner said we were welcome to use his rolling papers for free or that he would roll it himself for us. Proceed to measure out 0.5 but between paying for it he said it will be 600 not 500 now. He tried to argue he was giving us more weed but we didn’t want more, we just wanted what we had already agreed to pay. Politely explained again we were only after a half gram and didn’t want to spend so much. At this point he raised his voice and became intimidating. He kept calling myself and my partner “snakes with no heart” and started ranting about he needs money for himself and we shouldn’t be so cheap. Acting like we were the ones trying to scam him!!! we explained we had been honest from the start and clearly explained we only wanted a little bit, we told him at 500 baht for 0.5 grams that is some expensive weed anyway but we were there as we wanted to support his local business. He carried on ranting at us being more and more unkind, he then proceeded to throw my change on the table and then insisted we paid more if we wanted to use his rolling papers. He then asked if we wanted to buy a drink but of course at this point we just wanted to leave. Didn’t read the reviews before visiting as why would we… we only popped in for a spliff! But wish we had. The owner was the most unfriendly and imitating person we have met in our whole trip! Also states the weed is very high class from Europe… a few days later went into another local weed shop who knows the lazy bar owner, he explained the lazy bar owner actually buys all his weed from that shop (and that’s it’s all grown in Thailand) and the weed there was much cheaper then what is being sold at the lazy bar. Complete rip off. A real shame as this place has great potential… cosy cool bar in a quiet location, if the owner was honest with his prices and didn’t intimidate and try to manipulate people, I’m sure it would be a busy popular spot!

DO NOT COME HERE unless you want to get scammed. Tried selling me 1g for 1000 baht when down the road it is 400. Got aggressive with me when I didn't want to pay so much so I left. The bar itself is lovely and could be a really nice place if the owner was friendlier! :(

Tourist rip off location and not safe for any women. We saw the owner start a fight with 2 teenage girls. My boyfriend had to intervene. After we realized the owner charged us way more money than what the prices listed on the menu.

Rip-off merchant - scammy owner A real shame about the owner as it’s a lovely bar. We were staying over the road and passed by a few times, but it was always dead. Walking back one evening there was nice live music and a few people. On arrival, the owner was friendly but in a passive aggressive way. 4 other foreigners showed up and the owner told them to leave for no clear reason. We had some drinks and got talking to some other people. The owner joined in but passive aggressively again. Was pushy to sell more drinks and his weed. When we left our bill was ridiculous for the drinks we had! I just paid as am not great working out the exchange rate yet after a few drinks! But realised after we’d been well and truly ripped off. We’d been planning to spend the next day there but obviously didn’t after we were ripped off. Owner had complained he had no customers. Mate! Just be friendly and charge people a clear and fair price and your otherwise lovely bar will be packed! Seems like a no-brainer. Odd business model! Wish we’d read the reviews first! Avoid this place!

First time someone tried to hustle us in Thailand. Literally everyone was super honest till now. 420 baht for a rum and coke and some BS cocktail. My wife who doesn't drink was pushed so hard to drink, so she said why not. He was so persistent in getting her a cocktail. Then the price was 440 baht after he disappeared for change, he had none, I talked him down to 400 luckily. Even walking by the place he was super persistent in getting us in, we did just because we are across the street at Mild View Resort. He was even trying to sell me basic bag of weed for 3000 baht for God sake, that's almost a $100. As we walked away his wife was yelling at him, probably trying to talk some sense into him. There was a Dutch girl there that seemed not to keen on him hitting on her . . . Very nice looking venue at least.

If you see a man driving a tuktuk around the beach offering weed, food, and drinks do not accept. We were overcharged on our bill by 200+ baht. When I showed him the prices on the menu his excuse was the Russian-Ukraine War affected the cost of the food. I told him that he needs to update his menu if that's the case, and he just stormed off saying that he isn't able to update the prices. I've had better food from street vendors for 1/8th of the price.

Don't go here, they're scammers. Charged us 540 baht for a meal that should have cost less than 400 according to prices on the menu. They said it was because the meal had seafood but on the menu it was listed as "seafood basil fried."

All the reviews are legit. Bring small money if you truly wanna visit, because bob will not have change for you and of course will over charge you and keep selling weed to you.

Avoid this place! Unless you want to be left feeling taking advantage of. Very pushy atmosphere, Expensive menu, Charged MORE than menu prices, And to top it off.. you'll get short changed.

Don’t go here. We were having drinks and decided to eat here. The owner kept trying to push a $60 USD marijuana joint on us (a massive rip off, that we didn’t buy into, for those of you who know), we didn’t think much of it since we were having beers with spring rolls and playing pool. The owner continued to push a third shot on us, saying it was free, of course it wasn’t. We had the special (overcooked) and ordered soup and morning glory. We got fried veggies and two sides of fried rice instead, he told us they didn’t have what we ordered (would have been nice to know before we waited 30+ minutes for our food). We ate the food happily but when the bill came it was 3100B for an appetizer, entree, soup, three sides that we didn’t order, four small changs, and six shots (two of which were supposed to be “on the house”). We argued with him but he insisted he never said the two drinks and things we didn’t order would be for free. We were both frustrated and just paid and were trying to leave when he gave us two “free” beers to make up for the misunderstanding, when we got home we did the math and realized we had paid for them. We’ve both been in the restaurant business our whole lives and this experience really grinds our gears. If you value your money and don’t want to hear some guy try to sell you overpriced weed all night, DON’T GO HERE. We got so ripped off, worse experience during our month in Thailand. Clearly everyone that’s left a positive review was just stoked they could smoke weed.

Tourist trap scammer, overcharged on drinks and an excursion. Told we were getting elephant sanctuary, took us to some inhumane shed on the side of the road. DO NOT GO HERE.

The only good thing to say is we were able to check in late 3am. But still the check out was earlier than any other hotel I've been to. I had to ask for water. Only given a small bottle for 2. It wasn't very clean. Very noisy beds and rooms. It was sleeping on a wooden floor. Just a terrible room. The host also charged us 800bath. Which is more than double it should be. I'm not even sure I was given my change I paid

The place is unhygienic and the owner was extremely rude. We did not felt comfortable or safe staying there. Please do not stay there. Please DO NOT stay here. There was a huge pile of garbage right in front of the room the owner refused to remove it. There were fights and shouting early in the morning.

We had fun here, the owners are very friendly and my boyfriend got to play drums on stage which was good fun. However I can understand the comments I have read here and we didn’t return because of this (despite being owed money as they had no change!). Bob needs to learn the lesson that trying to get the most money out of each individual will actually make him LESS money. How can a rasta be so money oriented? We would have bought his weed if it wasn’t far more expensive than every other places. To make this a great place (which it has potential to be!): - charge less for drinks and weed and you will have returning customers, this is not a high-end place so people don’t expect to be paying more than other bars/shops for booze/weed - understand that some people don’t want to chat / be harassed and just want to smoke a joint and drink some beers in a chill place - those staying here definitely don’t want to be hearing loud music until the early hours of the morning!

Bob is not for everyone but he is a good guy. Definitely a hustler and you gotta respect that. But overall very chill, welcoming guy! Recommended to come here if you looking for adventurous time

We booked a room. Received email confirmation offering help from airport. Opted for just taking a shared shuttle. Get there at 12:30a to check in for the room we already paid for to find out he didn't have either room available for the three of us. Then get mad at us. There was another couple waiting for a room to open up in the morning who had the same issue. We bailed and found a property that would take our money AND provide us with the services we paid for. AVOID this vendor!

The Place for you if you want to chill, smoke and meet some nice and interesting people. You just have to make boundaries very clear and you will have a good time. Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 4 nights. The Location itself is super cool with a big chillout area on the first floor and the Bar downstairs. You can put your own music if you want. The room we got was clean and ok for the price of 450 Bath per night, which was one of the lowest here in Ao nang. Since we only drink beer, we cannot say anything about food or cocktails. One small beer costs 100 bath, which is not cheap but also not an unusual price to pay in Ao nang. Adressing the comments about the owner: Yes, Bob tends to be very pushy if he sees a Chance to sell you weed etc. We made it very clear from the beginning that we are not interested and he respected that. We also talked about this to his brother Raj, who ist just the sweetest rastaman ever and fits perfectly in here. We got the impression that these issues are getting worked on and had an Overall very pleasant stay here at lazybar.

Excellent place to stay in Krabi. A more authentic feel to this area than the touristy filled Ao Nang beach. Best long island teas we have ever had and the food was some of the best we have ever had on the island. A really chilled and relaxed atmosphere at this location! Great hospitality from the owner Bob and we hope to visit again in the future.

After reading all the reviews i have to react. Yes this please is overprized, especially for the drinks (100 for a small chang). And bob can be a bit pushy at points. But if you ask the man about his business and look him in the eyes, you will only see saidness. He i just not making enough money to keep his head up. He is trying what he can to make this bar work. I happily pay some extra money to an authentic place like this. Food is good and i think normally bob is an amazing person and the vibe of the place is amazing. I hope he will make it.

Booked a private room and they gave us a larger family room for no extra charge. Very kind of them. The live music was great like the atmosphere. Staff were helpful relaxed and friendly. There is a yoga space on the balcony and a pool table downstairs. Drinks were on the the high end of the local prices, and juice was from a bottle. Overall a good experience.

In short: I stayed at the lazy bar for one night, and it was pretty nice! Overall the place is great to chill and has a great vibe, there was live music until midnight, and the host is not the best person you'll ever interact with. In long: the reviews regarding the host are quite fair, but sometimes a bit too negative. He is definitely not be the most polite person and seem a bit rude at first. For example he asked me to go and print the confirmation of my reservation, which was not stated anywhere in the booking and took me 40 minutes of walking. When I tried to ask why he needed the printed document, he became very insistent and almost angry. Then I asked for the keys of the room, and he again seemed angry and rose his voice while giving them to me. After these first interactions I decided to not have any more interactions with the host, and if you make clear your boundaries he will not insist in selling you things or talking to you anymore. So the host is not great, but it will not compromise your stay No towels were provided (no explanation given from the host) For the rest the house itself is very hip looking, with lots of places to chill. There was live music the night I spent there, the volume was very loud, but they turned the music off at midnight.

Mr. Bob and his bar was very nice. Good reagge music and billard. I haven't been to guest house.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had a great few days at the lazy bar, lazy Bob was the most accommodating host we’ve had in our two months in Thailand. Great atmosphere, great music and all round good experience! Perfect for backpackers, couples and families. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all served and all delicious! Not only will you be looked after in the bar and the guesthouse but lazy Bob will take you personally on a tour of krabi for a very reasonable price. Not like the tours you’ll find along the seafront, this is a truly personal experience that he will cater for you and your family. 5 stars and will definitely be returning✌️

So I understand the other negative comments and it's true, Bob is not your friend, he is not here to take care of you but for the money. Everything he does (when you let him do it) is for the money. So if you look to play games and have a crazy time that will challenge you you should definetly come here. If you look to a have a quiet peaceful time this not the place to go. I am in the latter category, that's why I give 1 star. But even if you come here, just have beers and make sure you never pay his drinks as he will try to make you do it. Don't buy marijuana as you can find the same and better down the road for 70% less. My story is that I was here having a good time with my girlfriend and meeting some other tourists there, who where very nice! Bob told me to talk to them because it was only us. Later when the time came and we wanted to leave, we had to pay. So in my bad, I didnt have left a lot of cash, Bob says we need to pay 1050 THB. I ask why, and he immediatly says actually it's 850 THB. For 2 beers (2x100), 1 cocktail (250), 2 rum and coke (200x2). It is notable to know that you need to make sure when he asks you to pay for his drink to say no very clearly, otherwise Bob will misunderstand in purpose to trick you. That's why I payed extra 200 THB. 850 THB but I don't have so much in cash and I need to withdraw, so I tell him if I can transfer him to a bank account he says yes. I transfer, he says he hasn't received and that he doesnt want me to pay by transfer anymore, although I already pay. He starts being very aggressive, and telling me to go find the cash. It is ok to challenge him for fun because and keep your mind clear when he insists and starts being aggressive cause he can't do nothing. And if you stay calm and not triggered, even though he is still angry and aggressive he realises he cannot **** with you. Told my girlfriend to go withdraw, I cancelled the transfer on my phone and refunded as I can do that. He told me to go bring the cash but I told my girlfriend to go for 3 reasons, I didn't want her to stay alone with him and being manipulated, I wanted to stay and confront him in a peaceful way so he can see that his tricks don 't work on me and he can't hide. At this point there were other customers that were here and I went to talk to them to be careful not pay by transfer because it is not working, at what Bob responded annoyed, you don't need to be here, they have cash, they are not my problem. He always tries to make you feel like you are weird just to hide the fact he is acting weird. Asking me what's wrong with me. The same person that asks me to gather with people, tells me later to stay away. For me it was a very funny experience as I almost got scammed, but didn't, made fun of Bob as he is like a kid, kids are funny and entertaining but you should never give them power over you, and you need to be in control of the situation to, not letting him do what he wants. Definetly not gonna go again but It's good to challenge yourself from time to time.

Best bar in all of Thailand. Bob and his wife are so welcoming and the best people we have met here the whole trip. Look forward to coming back in years to come. Amazing food here also, the Tom yum is a must try! Thank you both again!!
