Thank you to The Hilltop and their management team for working so diligently with me to set up a surprise proposal for my long term girlfriend. The team was so accommodating and readily available to answer all of my questions. Although we had a huge time zone difference, they were still able to respond in a timely manner. They were even able to set up the scene the exact way I had envisioned while only relying on e-mails. In addition, the staff was very friendly and welcoming on the day of the proposal. They were prepared to make necessary accommodations to ensure that the day went perfect despite the spontaneous weather. The views were absolutely breathtaking and really made the whole experience memorable. The food was also excellent. I highly recommend adding this restaurant to your list when you visit Krabi in Thailand.

Oh boy did we fall for this tourist trap! Classical example of an astonishing location that has been degraded to a disgusting money minded restaurant. I’m still wondering if the owner simply doesn’t know how to run a modern restaurant, or is simply in it to grab as much money as possible. A gazilllion staff members wait very impatiently and very in your space to assist you. But not the good kind if you know what I mean. Behind the bar was a very friendly but incompetent man who had never ever made an espresso martini or any other cocktail, but mind you. They charge premium prices for these what can only be described as try outs. The food itself is bland, boring, tasteless and not at all in line with the exorbitant prices they ask. Normally I take pictures of everything, but it was truly unnecessary! Just take my word for it. The only picture i will share is of the small and only upside of this nightmare. The view! I would advise you to book this for sunset and als for a simple but expensive cocktail. FYI we had a couple of cocktails, shared a soup , shrimps sechuchan, appetizers and a curry. Got charged 4000 bath😱

A poor dining experience with a good view. Subpar service, average food at an acceptable price. My rice came with a spider in it, after some time flagging down a waiter who was keeping themselves busy serving a larger table, I got a replacement rice but no apology. After this we were not attended to at all and sat with our half empty plates for over 20 minutes after asking for the bill. Then it was a battle to get a bill issued without service charge. No apology again. If you want to have a nice picture for Instagram then you’ll get it. But don’t bother if you want any service at all or good food.

They gave us free ride back and we asked to drop by at a small night bazaar near there with grilled FRESH SEAFOOD for like 220thb for a big plate, while we pay 490thb for the 5 mini King prawn at the restaurant. Price is not an issue, we expect to be overpriced but please, the quality of the food has to improve.

I had dinner Christmas Eve here with complimentary two-way transport service by the restaurant. Enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance here and was really surprised by the fireworks. Food was decent but not awesome, but definitely worth visiting if you want to have a hilltop dining experience in Ao Nang.

What a brilliant place to stay! really special view from the accomodation and from the restaurant, and the staff are excellent. There are steep hills, thats why you get the great view! But there is a shuttle which is easily organised through the manager who you will have on speed dial. This is a place the lives and breathes hospitality. Go!

Come for the view, but don’t stay for the food nor the service 😅 The signature (!) duck was quite over cooked and hard to chew and we wanted to provide some feedback on that after paying. However the waitress directed us to her manager in a slightly aggressive (?) or nonchalant manner. The manager then explained how the chef cooked the dish but did not offer any alternatives eg offering our feedback to the chef. Waitress also did not proactively clean up the table when she saw that we had accidentally spilt a drink. Only plus side is that the sunset view was good. The squid was also not bad too.

The Hilltop was a 5* experience. The food were decent, sunset views were fantastic and the outdoor area is good for seating and picture taking as well. There is an area for live band which we did not witness during our day of visit. The staff were very attentive as they will constantly check back on you to ensure that you are having a good experience there. One con is that the place can have many flying insects once nightfall comes. Try to finish your food, appreciate the sunset views and probably leave the place once you are done with the main objective 😂. As usual, an up market place like this will come with some form of extra charges like service charge / govt taxes etc. You can also request for hotel transfer when you make a reservation with them. Overall, worth a visit for the sunset views and the dining experience.

The view is to die for! I would come back and visit again for sure! Update: I had to go back for the second time! The food is too good here! The same great service and very attentive. This is nothing like the night market, it’s way better. I got the steak this time and others. The steak is a must! The meat is salty but parring it with the sauce (sweet and spicy) is perfection! There are seats outside as well as inside however because it was raining a bit we were seated inside. Amazing dinner date location!
