What
an
interesting
town
or
area,
I
guess
would
be
a
better
term.
A
lot
of
Thailand
had
wooden
structures
but
in
the
past
years
since
World
War
II
from
what
I
understand,
the
wooden
structures
are
now
being
built
with
or
replaced
with
concrete
and
brick.
This
being
a
hot
humid
jungle
with
bugs
that
like
to
eat
wood,
it
is
a
natural
progression.
Lanta
Old
Town
still
shows
the
old
style
construction
techniques
with
wood
and
it
felt
like
walking
back
in
time.
It
is
quaint
and
low-key
and
comfortable.
The
wood,
of
course,
shows
a
lot
of
weathering
and
rotting
but
it
is
sort
of
kept
up.
There
are
lots
of
eateries
there
and
it's
an
experience
to
walk
out
on
the
piers
that
the
restaurants
are
made
of
and
on
and
sit
and
have
something
to
eat
and
watch
the
weather
and
the
ocean
and
feel
the
old
feel
to
the
town.
There
is
also
a
good
size
pier
but
overall
there
is
an
absence
of
coordinated
upkeep
for
the
whole
area
(typical,
I
will
say)
but
definitely
a
good
experience
and
my
rating
is
4
stars.
It
is
worth
the
trip
to
visit
and
see
what
Thailand
might
have
looked
like
around
1950
or
so
