Well functionally pier with shops and restaurants. This pier also have ATMs and travel agencies. Large areas are under roof and their is lots of rest chairs to sit on until your boat is leaving. The staff are nice and helpful but not so good in English.

This is an excellent spot for transfers to different islands from Phuket. They have good facilities here. Would highly recommend transfer from Island to Island using this as one of the drop off and/or collection points. It is very easy to navigate the boat company you wish to take. The locals are very helpful if you don't know how to check in right desk. Toilet's are 10 Bahts.

This is the pier you will arrive at when visiting koh lanta. Koh lanta is very laid back. Also some select bars seem to be very 420 friendly from all the potheads I bumped into. If you want quite and friendly people then this is the place. Koh lanta didn't have mains electricity till 1996. Unlike Bangkok and koh samui and all the other tourist traps....people are not in your face. With the exception of being offered motorbike rentals and tuk tuk rides being offered everytime your spotted. Now this island is pretty big. It has some very expensive hotels....however you will find the budget stuff along klong nin beach and long beach....depending on time of year can start from £10 a night but the ever be among the budget hotels between £15 to £20 a night.

It's fine here. Many restaurants surround the area so you can get a snack or something to drink if you have a connecting boat trip. It can get super crowded and hectic here but all staff are friendly and helpful if you are ever unsure about where and when to board. Some restaurants nearby have wifi as well. Many benches to sit on if you have to wait, and since it is on the water you can expect a nice breeze.

My friend and I took a speed boat from phuket to Saladan Pier (koh lanta) the journey was around an hour and a half I would do this any day over the ferry which takes around 6 hours, the staff at the pier was lovely the pier itself was nice. The taxis at the pier are very pricey so I would suggest if your hotel arranges pick ups then do this as we paid 400 bhat which we negotiated down from 700bhat to go from the pier to our hotel and then our hotel dropped us back for 300bhat. I i do feel though and this is not a bad reflection on the pier that the tour company should tell you that you have to pay 10bhat as you step off the boat for helping to keep the pier clean. Aside from that the people were lovely and my time in koh lanta was enjoyable. P.S The Tuk Tuks in Koh Lanta are like the motorbike markets in phuket your transported at the side of a motorbike the journeys in these were pretty cool

Very rustic (love it) with a little area to sit for snacks. Be prepared for lots of taxi drivers coming at you as soon as you exit ferry and the toilet is a dirty porcelain hole in floor, but hey, it's an island experience. I highly recommend the Fat Pig (restaurant) for lunch. Ask locals, they'll point you in the direction.

Finally one pier in Thailand which is not crowded and have plenty of space for sitting in the shade while waiting for your boat. There are also clean restaurants around, travel agencies and ticket offices. I recommend to book your ticked direct from the pier, you’ll get the best price.

A little annoying that everyone has to pay money for island cleaning but when you go on the beach there is rubbish everywhere! Where does our money go? Doesnt go on keeping the island clean

Pretty rubbish pier. Visitors are charged a fee to enter the island for 'cleanup'. As Koh Lanta has a HUGE garbage problem I assume this 'tax' goes towards someone's lunch beers. Not nice.

I think it is a unique perspective to see Bangkok out of the boat. This option is definitely one of the cheapest ways to get yourself into that perspective. Besides that it's a nice and fast way to travel around, especially when the traffic is heavy on the streets.

Seems to be always the same, to enter many Island in Thailand, you need to pay an entering fee. They can't explain why its just mandatory. I call it simply skin or tourist Tax, but they wouldn't tell you before you enter the boat..

This port is for cruises to and from many cities and islands. Those arriving or departing from Ko Lanta by bus or car take place from Khlong Mak Pier. offering a beautiful view of Siri Lanta Bridge.

Main pier for tour boats and transport to Koh Phi Phi and Phuket. Many places to stay are near and lots of amenities. 711, a bank, shops, and restaurants.
