We
wanted
to
go
to
a
place
that
was
ethical,
no
riding
&
which
actually
cared
for
their
elephants,
this
place
was
amazing.
The
elephants
were
not
tied/chained
up
&
no
leads/spikes
etc
were
used
when
the
trainers
walked
them,
just
simple
commands.
Yes
they
were
trained
to
do
certain
things
like
stand
still
&
allow
us
to
interact,
stroke
&
feed
them
but
if
they
chose
to
wander
off,
this
was
ok
too.
We
started
off
with
a
talk
about
the
elephants
from
the
owner
who
had
a
great
sense
of
humor
&
fed
them
bananas,
before
taking
a
short
walk
where
we
stopped
&
got
to
stroke
them
&
have
our
pictures
taken
with
them.
They
were
free
to
eat
the
palm
leaves
around
them
&
a
no
point
were
chastised
for
this.
Next
we
wandered
down
to
the
mud
hole
to
give
them
a
mud
bath
(they
seemed
to
really
enjoy
this),
then
we
walked
down
to
the
river
to
wash
it
off.
One
of
the
elephants
decided
that
they
didn't
wan
to
get
out
of
the
river
afterwards,
despite
several
attempts
by
it's
trainer
so
he
was
allowed
to
stay
&
get
an
extra
long
scrub.
There
was
ver
basic
changing
rooms
&
open
air
showers
for
us
to
wash/change.
We
were
given
fruit
&
water
afterwards
(not
much
but
it
was
great
to
sit
&
watch
the
stubborn
elephant
enjoying
his
bath
while
we
relaxed.
(Some
of
the
elephants
also
came
up
to
our
platform
so
search
out
extra
fruit!)
Next
was
making
the
medicine
(depending
on
which
package
you
chose),
again
the
elephants
stood
next
to
us
&
cheekily
grabbed
leaves
from
us
before
we
could
put
it
in
the
giant
pestle
&
pulp
it
along
with
a
few
other
natural
ingredients
used
to
keep
their
digestive
system
healthy,
they
seemed
to
really
enjoy
their
extra
treat!
We
saw
the
elephants
being
led
off
across
the
road
to
another
area
after
our
visit
&
were
told
this
was
where
they
were
able
to
roam
freely
in
a
safer
environment.
It
was
clear
these
elephants
were
well
cared
for
&
very
loved.
We
had
a
fantastic
time
&
the
owner
was
so
friendly
&
welcoming.
