Enjoyed my stay here. Great location. Stayed on west side of beach, room 1114. 1 minute walk to the beach and pool. Gorgeous sunset. Friendly and helpful staff. Bellboy brought our luggage all the way to the boat when leaving and room when we arrived. Allowed for early check in and also late check out. Only negative is the connecting room doors are quite thin, can hear neighbors talking. Fixed by putting a towel on ground so sound doesn’t seep through. Recommend renting a kayak on the beach. The bowl of noodles on walking street was probably the best meal I had there, other than that everything was average or below. Hotel breakfast was a 2 out of 5 for me, edible. All in all would recommend and stay again. Hope you found this review helpful.

Amazing resort in an incredibly beautiful location! This resort is only reachable by water, so will have to carry your luggage through the tide to and from the boat. Once you arrive the staff is very welcoming and helpful getting you settled into your room. The accommodations are well furnished and feature a bunch of useful amenities. The resort grounds include three different pools, multiple lounge areas, and an abundance of lush foliage. The west beach is a great place to take long walks and enjoy the sunset. While you’re here you can enjoy the resort restaurant which offers an amazing breakfast buffet.

Great location but the worst accommodations we had during our stay in Thailand. The pool was clean and the views and proximity to the beach are great; staff was friendly. — The rooms are very outdated and musty. Our front door didn’t seal at the base so the AC leaked from the gap and mosquitos could come in. Shower water is lukewarm and bedding had stains. Wifi is patchy and food & coffee are bland. We understand that they’re in a remote location and are recovering from COVID but improvements will need to happen for tourists to come back.

This place surprised me with how great it was. The room was large and very clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and big, I used the tub twice and even tho it took a while to fill it was great. The shower has a removable shower head and it takes About 20 seconds to get hot water but it’s a good shower. I loved this room and sitting on our porch drinking coffee in the morning. We moved next door to the railay bay resort which was supposed to be really fancy and it’s awful compared to sand sea. The breakfast is even better at the sand sea and seems more organized even tho there are lots of families staying there. They have a gym and many more facilities.

Location = fantastic! East and West entrances, plus plus. The resort is very green, right on the beach, with two pools. Our bungalow was great, felt very private (at the back near East). You do have to go next door to order drinks, but can bring your own.

We had the Pool Villa for 3 nights (165€/night). We felt like being in honeymoon because everything was so beautiful! The room was awesome and the private pool so big! View from the bed to the sea! The room offered so much- the price was definitely worth it! Really friendly staff and organized everything for us. The public pool and restaurant was really nice too! Would definitely stay here again (not only in the Pool Villa :)).

Planned to stay here 4 days and ended up spending a whole week in this amazing place! Great pool, great beachfront, nice breakfast, cute monkeys. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Highly recommended 😍😍😍

We loved our 4 days at SandSea!! Our deluxe bungalow villas were clean, spacious and quiet.. we slept so well! The resort has gorgeous greenery throughout; we loved the natural jungle vibe. Having your breakfast on the beach is such a great way to start the day, and the pool on Railay West is amazing. Thank you for your excellent and friendly service. The transfer service was seamless from Krabi airport, to the pier and then to the resort. We hope we have the chance to come back again someday!

Rooms are ok but the location is great. The quality of food outside the open bar for breakfast is terrible and expensive. The prices on the menu are out of range for the area. We also used the shuttle from the hotel for the krabi airport that was overpriced. Be aware that the hotel has two lobbies, one on each side of the island that is convenient , but only one is fully operational.

If you’re looking for a great place to have a rest, enjoy 2 beautiful beaches, than this is it. It was not our first time here and this time we stayed 15 nights. Because it feels like a small island, you wake up, have breakfast, stroll down walking street and go to the other beach. We made some trips from here, visited a few islands but used this as base. We booked again already for next year. We had a small room next to the restaurant at west, and every morning waking up with the best view of the beach. Everyday the cleaning lady would come by and we would have a clean room every night. I prefer a little softer matras…but hey, as we are traveling in Asia, this is something we know. Dear staff, can’t wait to see you next year. Much love for you all and thank you for making sure we had the best holiday! JANICE & Andy

We moved to this place from another hotel which was higher up in the mountain. We immediately fell in love with this resort because it fit our needs so much better: Not only was the location perfect (breakfast with view onto the West Beach), it is one of the few hotels which expands both to the East and the West of Rayley. We stayed rather in the middle of the resort (more West than East) and it was beautifully quiet - no tourist or boat noises whatsoever. It is also close to the pier as well as to the walking street, all reachable within few minutes on foot. We enjoyed the food here very much: The "Lazy breakfast of the month" (Pandan pudding with coconut) was one of our personal favourites during breakfast, alongside the variety of other options. The best part was the Hotel Room itself: Spacious, generous bathroom with nice lights and great water pressure. We had a beautiful balcony view from where we could observe monkeys and birds in the trees or listen to the rain during the few tropical rain showers. Great to read a book outside, stretched out on the padded balcony bench. Pure relaxation!

Stunning resort, clean, tidy, well above average. The staff are incredibly helpful, including a buggy ride around the resort anytime you want. Pools stunning. Amazing breakfast, dining on the beach front. Rialay is an exceptional place, outstanding lime stone cliffs, fantastic beaches, wonderful snorkelling, rock climbing, or relaxing on the beach. It is an absolute must-see, and this hotel only adds to the experience. Can not recommend highly enough.

Fantastic location, cannot be beat! Resort does not sell alcohol at all, which is a bit of a pain but you can go a few meters away to a bar, but be aware. Rooms were large and in good repair but lighting is awful, nearly impossible to see if you're trying to do your makeup. Beds are horrible as are the pillows. Breakfast was fabulous, with lots of options and tables are right on the beach. Room service menu is a bit lacking. Lots of monkeys, don't leave things outside that they might steal! Staff were all friendly, pool was fantastic!

I recently came to have lunch at the restaurant, and one of the waiters was the nicest Thai young man. I don't remember his name, unfortunately (sorry bro it's hard 😂), just that he's 23 years old, has really good English, and helps with training the staff. This young man was one of the nicest people I've met in my life. While helping me he made me laugh the hardest I have, maybe in my life. 😂 He was so friendly, kind, helpful and humble. I just wanted to post this to let the hotel know how extremely lucky they are to have him, as it's extremely hard to find people as talented and hard working as he is. And I hope he's compensated well for the above and beyond service he provides. You're missed bro ✌🏽

I think it's the best hotel in the area. I opted for a separate villa plus. The villa itself is spacious, with a nicely decorated shower area, and yes - not everything is brand new. For example, the knob that controls the temperature and water pressure is not connected to the shower system. So you use it as a spanner. Put it in - adjust the temperature - Put it away. But in general the room is comfortable and authentic, with its own veranda and a bunch of living things around it. The area is home to at least two species of monkeys, water monitor lizards, a type of squirrel and, at the top of the hierarchy, a couple of cats. None of them are dangerous if you don't try to touch them. Breakfast varies slightly day-to-day, the quality is good, nothing exquisite of course, it's a remote area with no roads. But meat, vegetables, yoghurt, some bakery products and fruits are available. The supply is limited and everything is delivered by small boats, so I'd say it's a good range of food. The hotel touches both shores. The place is full of small shops, massage parlours, climbing schools, weed kiosks and cafes. The quality of everything except climbing is average, but you can find decent service here with a little research.

Lovely place. Great location. Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Although there could be more vegetarian inclusive items in the menu. A little rusty, also the AC is placed in opposite direction of the bed so the room gets very heated in daytime and takes very long to cool.

Pros: staff are absolutely amazing and friendly. No complaints about them as they are the best part about this resort. We stayed in a bungalow and it is a lot like a cabin in the jungle. It is somewhat clean but do expect what you would find in a jungle - bugs. We had a screen with a small crack on the bathroom and resulted in thousands of flies entering. Again, the staff were quick to accommodate us with a room change. Breakfast - it is what it is, we skipped it as it was nothing special. A few Thai dishes, fruit, hot dogs, but there was a nice egg station with an attendant making omelettes to your liking. The pool situation: there are 3 pools, two are dirty, and one is clean. The best pool is on Railay West (busy tourist side) however there are limited chairs. SUGGESTION FOR STAFF: Please stop allowing guests to come down early and drop a towel on a chair to hold it for the day. The hotel needs a “leave your chair unattended for 30 minutes and lose it” policy. We stayed for 4 days and every day there was only a handful of people in the pool with all the chairs spoken for. Totally annoying. All in all, it’s a 3/5 resort given the bugs ability to get under doors and in rooms, mediocre breakfast, and only 1/3 pools available to use especially during high season. Again to the staff - thank you for being kind, smiley, and accommodating every interaction.

We had originally booked the bungalow for this trip. We booked far in advance and yet we received a bungalow that was in the middle of the two beach sides. The bungalow itself was cute, until we saw the bathroom state (which is why they also don’t show you the bathroom in the photos). We asked to be moved which they then moved us to the apartment style room next to the pool on the Railay west. It was a good upgrade from the bungalow but the bathroom sink and shower were rusted, water pressure was very weak (unless you use the separate shower head, then it becomes okay). Comfortable bed nevertheless. The staffs were mostly friendly and accommodating. Their breakfast in the morning leaves a lot to be desired (you can find better food options in the walking street nearby). The resort did not restock our beachtowels on all the days that we stayed and it was such an ordeal to ask for towels, they either did not have it readily or we had to wait a very long time for the housekeeping to bring it. Which was unfortunate since this was a very basic needs that all hotels do. Overall, aside from the hiccups and the room situation, we had a good time staying at the sand sea, but the resort definitely shows it age since my mother’s days when she was coming here regularly. Be prepared to use your own towel or reuse your beach towels. If you don’t mind old rustic places, the bungalow might be good otherwise, it will be hard to look at.

If you're looking for a hotel right on the beautiful Railay Beach, this resort is a good option. The location is absolutely stunning, and you can't beat the convenience of being steps away from the water. The pool is also nice and adds an extra option for relaxation. The bungalows themselves are quite cute, but they could use some updates. The air conditioning units are a bit noisy, which may be a concern for light sleepers. Additionally, the bathrooms are a bit outdated, so if you're looking for modern amenities, this may not be the place for you. Unfortunately, the breakfast served at the resort is not great. If you're a foodie or just enjoy a good breakfast, you may be disappointed. The gym at the resort is decent enough if you're looking to keep up with your fitness routine while on vacation. Overall, if you prioritize location over luxury, this resort is a solid choice for your Railay Beach getaway.

Good, tranquil location. Rooms are comfortable. Plenty of lush greenery around making it very pleasant. Good breakfast overlooking the beach. Good pools and easy access to both Railay East and Railay West

The resort is located in very good location, just in front of the port where the boat will drop you off, so you don’t need to walk far with your luggage. Resort it self is very well looked after with a lot of greenery, wildlife swimming pools etc. Very close to the main strip with all the restaurants and shops and short walk to all the local attractions like beaches, caves and view points We stayed in deluxe bungalow which was spacious, air condition was working great, large and comfortable bed. However the room and the bathroom look to be out dated. We also had breakfast which was very large selection of Thai dishes and they were very tasty, there also were some fruit, cereal, juice and hot drinks to chose from. Staff in the resort and restaurant are friendly and helpful.

The illusion of fancy. Back in the day this resort may have been top tier, but everything is so dated and dysfunctional it is almost comical how bad it is. The shower pressure in room 1324 was so awful I had to rinse my hair in the sink to get the product out. The Wi-Fi cuts in and out constantly and is very unreliable. The air conditioning works, but literally takes hours to cool down your room if you’ve been gone all day without the air on. After a long, hot day, all I wanted to do was come back to a cold room and rinse all the sweat and sand off me, and I couldn’t do that. I would not recommend this place.

This was our first time to Krabi, Railay Beach and I was unaware that the resort went from one side to the other but it all made sense when there rooms are labelled either sunset or sunrise on their website. There are 3 swimming pools in the resort the one on Railay Beach is the most popular due to the view. We stayed in the Grand Deluxe Building (sunset) room 1123. The room was large and clean, bed was comfortable which makes a nice change for Asia and the hot water was hot. House keeping was a little hit and miss but overall nothing to worry about. There were a few small maintenance items that needed fixing, lucky hubby is quite handy and he could fix them. The one thing we did get caught with was the in room safe. The pin pad was fault but we did not know until after locking things in there. When you would push a number you could get the number, above, below or multiples. This was reported to staff not sure if they fixed or replaced it. Another thing to be aware of is that there are no sales of Alcohol, you can buy your own and bring to the pool area but you want be getting a cocktail from the restaurant. The transfer from the airport to hotel was seem-less and easy to arrange. We even had a follow up call before we arrived to confirm details. A few minor negatives but nothing to warranty not staying here * The room lighting at night is poor * The in room internet was spotty and dropped out a lot. * There was not information booklet about the resort

This island is filthy, covered in so much garbage everywhere. My room when I first checked in, disgusting, nothing was clean and to top it off the bed is a box spring not a mattress. Pillows are covered in stains and stink as well. No hot water from the shower which only trickles. No hand towels or face towels just two very old bath towels one purple and one pink, didn’t even smell clean. Also the view out front of my room, gross. I wish I could upload the photos of how nasty this place is, I’m stuck here for 3 more miserable days. I 100% do not recommend this resort. Do not be fooled by pictures from 20 years ago. This place is a wreck post Covid.

stayed 6 nights in Oct 2022. rooms were clean and comfortable. my room was at the east end of the resort where the WIFI strength was spotty. Good selection in the daily buffet breakfast, no complaints for me. Overall, my stay was enjoyable.

Excellent location. Located in the Railay beach. Room was awesome and well maintained with all modern facilities. Family rooms are big. If you stay back side of the sea (sunrise side), the room view also good. Calm and peaceful environment. Restaurant view is mesmerizing. You can have your tea with enjoying the sound of wave. Must take their complementary breakfast. Lots of delicious items 😍🤤 Near to the resort, there are many cafe and local restaurants where we have found food at a cheap rate. Sunset and sunrise view was awesome from this resort. Having 2 big swimming pool and small pond with flowers. Highly recommend for staying this resort. Loved the place ❤️

We had a wonderful week here! We stayed in the Sunrise Tropical section in a little villa. It was spacious and clean. There was a rack outside for hanging clothes and chairs to sit on the porch. The only downside was that it got buggy, but that's to be expected. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The staff was thorough and helpful. The pools are clean and well kept. We truly had a wonderful visit.

👍 The owner is a coolest Aussie I have met so far. The vibe of restaurant is quite chilled and relaxed. Once you get overwhelmed from local Thai food you can always head to this place for great breakfast. Its expensive but you will find a lot of Aussie there, so I guess the food here is quite similar...
