Railay is paradise on earth but can someone for god's sake clean it up. Doesn't take much. Many of the places on East Railay and the pathways that connect it are neglected and the smell is pretty bad. This began before Covid. Just takes a bit of community spirit and if I lived here I'd do it for free (please note, those of you who stay here long term). Been coming here since 1993 and I've seen it slowly become a scar on what was once pristine nature, it breaks my heart.

Not really a beach, more of a pier to get boats to and from Krabi town and other islands. There's some sand to the right side, but it's mostly mud and mangroves. This is really just a pit stop before going further down the path to the nicest beach in railay. The view can be stunning however and the mangroves are quite beautiful.

This pin on Google map is where the longtail boats that doesn’t stop at the pier stop to drop off passengers. It is a very short stretch of beach as East Railay is mangrove. As you walk Northwards towards the shops and cafes along this coast, you will find mangrove trees growing. Lovely change from the white sandy beach though not ideal for swimming, I do welcome the added layer of options on top of white sandy beaches.

Fine place to dock. The scenery is also pretty good here. The longboats dock here and wait ferry passengers outside of the beach. It’s also shaded pretty well here and nice to walk around.

May be I visited it when the water was so deep in and it looked like abandoned place. Only some people getting on and off the boats and a path between the two main beaches. Nothing impressive, not sure why they keep it in this bad condition, it could be a good beach-relaxing point too.

Beautiful place for walking and great restaurant you have nice place to sit and look the beach but people usually don't swim here. Few minutes after this you have a great beach

My favorite beach to visit in all of Krabi . Take a boat from Ao nang beach to get here . Around 15-20 min ride depending on sea condition . Plenty of boats available from Ao nang and very cheap . Please go here . Highly recommend you have a relaxed schedule to get the best of the Island and beach .

Compared to the other 2 two beaches this one is a bit less impressive, however don't let that put you off having a wee explore. There are a few mangroves which are accessible at low tide. The mud flats are teaming with crabs and frogs. Also look out for monkeys, snakes and large monitor lizards.

Not too amazing compared to the destination where you are likely going to walk. But it's a nice path along the sea. It's an area where it seems like there's just a very low tide constantly, so you can step off the sidewalk and get into the sand. Enjoying the view is the main activity here, but I also saw some places along the way where people were rock climbing.

Water bus from ao nang mao likes to drop everybody off here ( for Railey ). Great natural features, limestone karst mountains. Brilliant local vibe. Lots of sea rock face climbing. This (East) is the quieter side of town and less £$€¥ being thrown around. Negative. The prevailing wind blows straight onto these shores. Rubbish gathers on the beaches. Nobody swims here because of the dirty sea water( so make sure your accommodation has a pool). If you want to swim in the sea, go to Railey WEST( 300m walk from east). There Beautiful sandy beaches clear sea water BUT very busy in the peak season.

Railay Beach is a fictitious island that can only be reached by boat. Long tail boat tickets are available in Ao Nang, just in front of the beach, where all boats depart. It cost 200 baths to return home. There are several beautiful beaches and seaside on this island. The only drawback is that all tourist information indicates that you can go up to a view point for a nice view of the island, but you must go there. Clubbing necessitates proper preparation. Climbing there is even dangerous. At this location, you can also easily meet monkey families.

Beautiful beaches, a little crowded in peak times, but you can still find a spot to swim and bathe crystal clear emerald water. Great little coffee shop on the opposite side where the boats come in. Rock climbing is available here. Don't leave your belongings around when there's monkeys about tip for the novice traveler

Nice up close views to the limestone caves and rocks. Saw some serious rock climbers trying the steep climbs. Beach saw some waves, unlike the others. A bit of a walk, but a nice place to visit.

East Railay Beach is not just a beach, but an adventurer’s paradise! While it may not have the typical sandy stretches of its western counterpart, what it lacks in sandy shores, it more than makes up for with its renowned rock climbing spots. The limestone cliffs here offer a unique challenge for both novice and seasoned climbers, with local guides always ready to provide lessons or assistance. The view from the top? Simply unparalleled — a panoramic vista of the Andaman Sea and beyond. After a day of climbing, the beachfront bars and eateries are the perfect spots to refuel and relax. A must-visit for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike!

Great place to view Sunrise! View of it as it crests over the left side of this beach!

If you’re in to rock climbing, then this place is for you. It’s just 15 minutes away from Railay West which is better for swimming. It’s low tide in the morning so you won’t see much.

Beautiful beach and great views of the Andaman Sea. The other best thing here is the rock climbing area at the end of the coast. However, for a world-class climbing destination, I hope that smoking will be prohibited at all crags here. Been here several times and my lungs are always clogged with climbers who smoke (both locals and foreigners). Without good health, how will you be able to enjoy climbing for a long time?

One of the most secluded and peaceful places in Krabi! It’s only accessible by ferry or long tail boats! There are no taxis or tuk-tuks here so make sure you have comfortable shoes! There are bars, restaurants and different types of tour vendors all over the place so you don’t need to book anything in advance!

The beach is good. Many restaurants. I went there around 2pm so it was too hot. I would recommend evening and morning time to be there.

Now it's the perfect time to visit because it's not that crowded as it was before. Clear water, clean and white sand and amazing panorama. Only one small shop but no beer, maybe in the hotel

(Translated by Google) Not as picturesque as the western beach, not enough sand, at high tide the beach almost disappears - therefore there are no big crowds here and it is easy to breathe. (Original) Nie tak malownicza, jak plaża zachodnia, mało piasku, przy przypływie plaża niemal znika - co za tym idzie nie ma tu wielkich tłumów i łatwej odetchnąć.

The west side has better sand and more open shops, but it's all foreigners. The east is more calm, has more interesting and affordable hotels and restaurants at the north end. Very nice people. Many rock climbing guides & outfitters for climbing the nearby cliffs. A trail leads to Pranang Beach which is excellent. The main pier is here for tours to the islands and getting to/from Ao Nam Mao Pier and Krabi.

The beach is ok, not as beautiful as the other side. There’s also many people waiting for their boat back to main cities. The only good thing is that there is rock climbing from there and rice resorts as well.

  • 3/5 Kev M. 3 years ago on Google
More of a mangrove and jetty rather than a beach with restaurants and shops along the seafront. If you walk to the left, you take to Pranang Beach, a sandy cove that also has the ‘Princess Cave’ filled with a colourful collection of phalluses. If you head to the right, it’s mainly a concrete path with bars and restaurants. There is also a place for photo opportunities and selfies with a love seat and places to perch oneself over the sea while looking as pretty as a picture to camera.

It is better to walk a bit to Pranang or West Rail. (Original) В прилив смотрится довольно неплохо, благодаря окружающим скалам. Но купаться там я бы все равно не решилась. Да и смысл? (Translated by Google) Apart from the view and the view on the East side of Railay, there is little to see. You can not access the sea except through muddy sand and mangroves. The sea water is cloudy. However it is possible to take a walk along the coast up to the Gran View Resort and then access another beach even further east but even there the water is not very transparent.

There is not much to see here, when the big low tide is an interesting sandbank and from a height there is a good view of the entire peninsula
