One of the most informative and detailed museums I’ve visited. To be honest we hadn’t looked at reviews first so we didn’t know what to expect, but the museum took us on a journey from prewar Krakow through the evil horrors of the holocaust and beyond. This museum is far more about the experience of the Jewish residents of the city than it is about Oskar Schindler. His heroic actions are presented in the context of the changing lives (and sad deaths) of Polish Jews. The overall museum experience is both heart wrenching and inspiring. This, slightly out-of-way museum is a strongly recommended visit. We waited for about 30 min to get in and found that tickets were available despite the website saying otherwise.

Quite pricey for what you get, very little about Schindler himself and the story of the Jews he saved due to the factory and more focused on the impact of the war on Krakow. The story is quite limited and focused on emotional impact rather than information. Very few exhibits but I guess being able to stay near Schindler's desk should be reward enough. You need to book even a week in advance, there are companies that offer guided tours who hog all the tickets. Be sure to enter the place at the time you are scheduled and not earlier because otherwise you will run into groups on a tour and it will be tough to move about. I do have to admit the organization is quite good, once I realized I entered earlier than scheduled, I waited for 15 minutes for the two groups in front of me to clear and I did have a relaxed experience

I recommend buying tickets online in advance so you don’t have to wait and get a guaranteed entrance. Super informative museum about the life of what it is like living in Krakow during world war 2 and how Jewish people were treated. Highly recommend going it takes about 1 and half hours to 2 hours to walk all the way through and read all the information.

The visit proved to be both inspiring and a reflective moment on the events of World War II. With free admission on Mondays, albeit accompanied by a brief 15-minute queue, the experience provided a unique opportunity to delve into the historical significance of the site.

If you want to visit somewhere with your friends in Krakow or if you are interested in history you should visit this place. Very cheap price and discount for students. If you want to buy things like souvenirs you can buy them.

No doubt one of the best museum I have been. Oskar Schindler isn’t the entire theme about the museum but instead, they put you through a journey about Polish and Jews during WW2 and how Krakow was at that point of time. The journey that this museum aims to take you through is indeed very well planned. Instead of just exhibits after exhibits, the museum is interactive and intriguing. Especially the part where they made you walk on uneven ground to reach towards the area of bright light. It’s just too thought provoking. I highly recommend this tour for anybody especially those who takes keen interest in modern history.

Brilliant experience led by a wonderfull guide. There's a lot of content here so you need someone to help you sift and pace your visit. Fascinating insight for anyone who has watched the movie or wants to understand the dark descent into chaos of 1940's Krakow

It's fascinating to hear and see the story told through a different lens. Yes he saved a lot of people, but he wasn't the hero he has been made out to be. To the people he saved though, he will always be their hero.

A must-visit for everyone interested who wants to learn more about history. It can be a bit crowded and there are two ways of visiting it: on your own and with official guides. The tour with a guide takes around 2 hours and it's worth it, even though I would have liked a few more minutes in some rooms to look at all the objects and posters that were there.

One of the best museums I've ever visited and certainly the most tactile museum of this kind. Each room is themed differently with walls, floors etc. fitting the theme. An insightful portrayal of the impact on Poland throughout the war and an emotionally charged visit. Would really recommend the guided tour as I don't feel like we would have got as much out of our visit without this.

I found it very informative. It’s not so much about Schindler, it’s just a collection of images and testimonials from WW2. The stories are very educational. A real eye opener.

This is probably the best WWII museum I visited. Everytime I go to a city that has a WW museum I visit it, and for me this is one of the best. Of course it helps that the memory of the Hollywood films it was still fresh, but the seeing the desk, the map in the office, the pots that the factory, every object is in the right place, the sounds are in the right moment. Be aware that before I visit this place I had to go 3 times, it's always sold out and it would be wise or to buy it previous to the visit or to go early in the morning. 🇵🇹

One of the best museums I have visited. Highly recommend watching the film “Schindler's List” before visiting in order to compare the chronological events. The museum has a stunning style, everything is done with the right design and harmoniously. It was important to get in touch with history and not to forget… Great sorrow that history tends repeating and some nations borrow techniques extermination of the people. It is significant to know and remember about humanity and mercy. Recommend!

More of an exhibit about the occupation of Krakow than Oscar Schindler, but that is not a minus. He was an incredible figure who's actions echo down the decades in the shape of generations that would not have otherwise lived. However, he is only part of a much larger story of the invasion and occupation of Poland, a story that is told in intricate (and graphic at points) detail and that is what this extensive museum focuses on. The museum 'route' ends with a portrait of Lenin, the next chapter of Poland but not told here. Booking online would have you believe there are strict time slots. We walked up to the ticket desk at 2pm (no times available until 4pm) immediately presented our tickets to the doorman/concierge and walked straight in. There are multiple group tours on offer, but every exhibit has ample English translation so I debate whether it's worth doing a tour. It is VERY worth sitting through the looped presentation of filmed first hand accounts in the movie theatre. It's only 10-15mins long and these people were actually there. It provides first hand context to the factory and the events unfolding around it. Highly recommended and only a 20 minute walk from the Jewish Quarter.

I went just to see the factory not realising it was a museum! To soak up some history. It was fascinating. Lots of history and poignant information. The exhibits and photos were interesting, and like most who have seen the film or read the book, it made it all very real. My last photo is an image of Oskar Schindler surrounded by some of his Jewish workers that he saved.

I really enjoyed this. It was a lovely thing to do for culture but more especially to be in tune with the history of WW II especially after Spielberg’s Schindler’s List. Very surreal visiting Oscar’s own enamel factory and reading about the history of his life and the role he played saving and helping many people captured by the Nazis. It was truly fascinating and surreal. Compassion has to be one of the best things in this world.

I was surprised by how interactive the museum is - there are many places you can be immersed in the story. also the plethora of artefacts is probably unmatched nowadays. it is absolutely worth a visit but mind where you’re getting your tickets from - I got them from a third party website and had to wait past my booked time for the man to bring the tickets to me, as they’re not handled by the museum itself.

Very informative and interesting giving us lots of knowledge about the war not just the factory or Schindler. Great guide at a good pace allowing time for photos. Provided headphones so that everyone could hear the your guide easily. Great place to find out about Poland during the war with amazing exhibits. Easy to rebook but needs more information when waiting to enter. Booked through the museums website but we're told to wait for a private tour that we meet outside at the front. Lots of people also waiting and being told by security to wait outside for their private tour. Once met everything was well organised and smooth.

One of the best museums I've ever visited. Thrilling experience and an insightful journey through a dark history that we must not forget. The staff is very friendly, informative and very helpful. I arrived a little late and the museum was almost closing, the staff were very kind and let me and my sister in because they saw how important it was to us, I will never forget that. A must visit in Krakow.

We visited the museum on a free entrance day, so we had to wait in line, because we came a bit later. It went quickly, but it's good to arrive as soon as possible. On other days, be sure to buy tickets in advance. I definitely recommend it to those who like history, but also to everyone else as a reminder of the cruelty and senselessness of war.

Those hoping to find out much about Oscar Schindler and his story are likely to be rather disappointed by this museum, as although this is the site of his factory, he is only really covered in the introductory film and the couple of rooms that were his and his secretary’s office. Otherwise, this is mainly the story of Kraków during World War II, with a particular focus on the Jewish community and Płaszow concentration camp. It does an excellent job of telling this story and unless you really are obsessed with Schindler, it is definitely worth visiting and allowing 2-3 hours to do so. Everything is in Polish and English, and the story is brought to life with numerous photos. At times, aesthetics have been prioritised rather expense of legibility; some of the boards are on backgrounds that make them almost impossible to read. It can also be hard to be an individual visitor with guided tours clogging up many areas, as the museum is really not spacious enough to accommodate tours. These are minor quibbles for improvement and I would certainly recommend a visit. It can get popular and ticket slots sell out, so reserve ahead online if possible (you can collect and pay at the ticket office).

Not what I had expected from the museum.. so much more! A huge amount of effort & art is put into allowing us to visualise the time, it is in chronological order which I found very helpful. An underrated must-do.

I tried to buy tickets online but our date was already sold out. They wrote on the website that we should try it in person. When we got there, we bought the tickets. The best time is between nine and ten. When we left, there were already long lines.

We experienced a guided tour of the factory. This took around 1.5 hours, but if you decide to walk around yourself it can take 4-5 hours with the amount of content included. Our tour guide was very friendly and informative. If you've watched the movie, Schindler's List, this is definitely an activity you will want to experience as a follow-up to the movie.

A must-see museum when visiting Krakow. It includes everything from the initial invasion by the Germans, the persecution of Jewish citizens, and the later Soviet era under communism (and of course, Schindler's list, but the museum was much more than that, which I wasn't expecting. Allocate half a day for this museum as there is a lot to see). The museum has many immersive installations. You literally walk through those horrific years of the 1940s and see the drastic changes that Crakow went through. One of the best museums around. Also free on Mondays if you get there soon after 10 am. Last entry is 12:30 so make sure you go in the morning.

I'm disappointed to not really see any of the factories. It's just a museum within the old factory. The only machines are in the reception. The photos were amazing, and the office of Schindler himself was amazing to see. Especially the map behind his desk.

One of the most informative and detailed experiences of the city’s history before, during and after Nazi occupation. It tells the story of Krakow, the short resistance to an overwhelming force, then day by day from the first entry of the German army into the town, raising of the swastikas around the main square, the rules and regulations of the new regime, the forced moving of those deemed to be anti-Nazi into concentration camps, including a full quota of university professors, through to the forceable relocation of every Jew into a walled ghetto the other side of the river from their homes. A must-visit in this amazingly beautiful city!

I am a little disappointed regarding this visit. Generally museum is very interesting but it is very crowdy even at normal working day in May. Management should think about some solution. Guides in several languages speak very loudly to their groups. You cannot hear anything. Either this museum should move to larger space or think about some early or late openings for people who want to visit it in quiet. It has big potential but now it is not so well organized.

Great place to visit. It's a tightly packed museum now, not a factory with a shop floor, etc, just a rabbit Warren of corridors and small rooms. Good to do with a tour guide. HOWEVER be prepared of you don't, to be stuck behind huge groups of lingerers waiting on their guide and 50+ people in small areas. It is very very hot in winter (Feb) inside, you can and MUST leave bags and coats in lockers/cloakroom, it's just too claustrophobic and hot if you don't. Fascinating place but there's too many people in small spaces, stuck behind large groups. Good for 2+hrs. Visit the old Jewish ghetto while there. 5min walk.

There is something surreal in watching such a powerful movie as Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List and then coming to the spot where the story takes place. This is the actual location of Oscar Schindler's Enamel factory. When you stand outside you can imagine the scenes shown in the movie and shot here. Taking the tour was equally fascinating. Not only do you see Schindler's office where he worked and the building that produced the pots and pans and saved the lives of so many, but there is a museum inside that is very well put together. The exhibits are excellent and convey a feeling of the times and they way lives were lived and extinguished. This is a worthwhile stop on any tour of Krakow.

I visited it during my last day in Krakow, early in the morning and it was closed. Sadly, cause I was leaving, I didn't have the time to wait until is was opened. But it was even nice to see it from the outside. Next time in Krakow, I will definitely visit it.

The museum was full of information about the persecution suffered by the people of Krakow in the war time period. Lots of interactive displays and screens meant you could see even more. The museum was very busy when we went, but it was easy to get around. I particularly liked that first hand accounts by the Schindler Jews were spread across the museum on screens including a cinema where you can spend 10 minutes or even an hour listening to these wonderful people.

If you come to Krakow, this place is worth a visit. It’s beyond comprehension what one human did to another, and that there are people that still deny the Holocaust. Thank god for the Oskar Schindlers of this world.

Very educational and lots has gone into making this an educational and respectful experience. Are tour guide was extremely passionate about the information she was giving and was clearly very invested in her work. I would advise doing the tour but perhaps also spending time alone to read the information and really absorb the place and it's significance.

The movie is my first impression of the Jew history, so I visited this museum when I have this chance. The museum showed and recorded that history, its well designed route. I didn’t get much time to well go through the whole museum, but still glad to be here and walk into this unforgettable history.

We did not go inside so can't comment on what the overall experience is like.. it was closed when we got there.. but just walking around the building, reading stuff written outside, looking at the pictures, sort of takes you back in time. You can feel what it would have felt like back in the day.. Well to a certain extent.

The first museum I visited in Krakow. Amazing in every way. One tip: Don't be like me and arrive early. You might have to wait before getting inside. However, the exhibits drag you into the past. And yes, you can touch Oskar Schindler's desk. I know it seems like a silly thing, but it felt like an honor.

Great museum. Lots of factual information that focuses not only on Schindler, but on the war and the state of Germany pre and during the war, showing how things got as dire as they did so quickly. The museum is only 5 tram stops away or a half hour walk, would definitely also recommend hiring a tour guide for the museum as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour,it is NOT a tour of the factory. It takes place in the old admin building and is about the occupation and events leading up to schindler taking the Jews to CZ. As I said I thought it was a 5 🌟 but my cousin had wanted to see factory area but that is now an art museum and he rated 3 🌟 You definitely need a guide or you will miss out on a lot

This is one of the best informational museums in Krakow. It contains vast history regarding the german and soviet invasion of Krakow. This museum is free on mo days. So you can try to book a free ticket at least 15-20 days before the visit. I would recommend watching Schindler's list before visiting this museum.

Great Museum, you start at the top floor at the beginning of the occupation of Poland the work your way down through the hsitory of Poland's occupation mainly focussing on Krakow. the museum is relatively inexpensive and has plenty of attractions and artifacts. Both english and Polish written on the walls, but only Polish on the video exhibits. The whole museum focuses more on the holocaust and the ghetto than schindler himself which is very interesting.

This museum is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. We booked a tour as this was recommended by a friend. As they did not and wished they did. The guide was very good and pointed out things that we may have missed. I would like to return to do the tour without a guide as so much information to read and take in if you love history.

Absolutely worth the visit. The museum is large and very well done, going through the history of Poland’s occupation during ww2 and all that involved, as well as sharing about Schindler of course. Really comprehensive information with lots to read (in Polish and English, sometimes more) and see. Tickets were free when I went though a guided tour to get more context would have been well worth it.

Very interesting museum about the German invasion of Poland and Krakow, the story of the Jewish getto's and the story of Oskar Schindler and how he helped save the life of Jewish people working at his factory. It's all presented well and you get a real good overview of how the war came to Krakow and what this meant for the people living there especially for the Jewish people. Very important to remember this history.

An excellent and very interesting museum covering the occupation of Krakow, pre and post war, as well as covering Oskar Schindler's role. I pre-booked my ticket, on get your guide app, and picked up the ticket at the main entrance, at the arranged time.
