Definitely a place with a fascinating story behind it you can go into the church as well as into part of the monastery. You should go to to kretinga information center for more information and see if there is a guide around the monastery and church as it includes so much more than what you would probably read yourself. That tour includes going into a lot of of rooms you would normally not even be allowed in, like the cellars where you can learn about the tragic fait of a lot of people long ago and also learn and see some of the coffins from the family who ordered the construction of the church. Included is that you can climb up the tower stairs and take in the beautiful surroundings. But be warned, it is quite a bit of stairs and in my case it got really windy at the top. I think it was great and I would visit again.

Very beautiful church! We visited with great pleasure, went on excursions, very interesting! There is a functioning monastery inside, it is very large. The inside is very beautiful and interesting! The church itself is already a work of art! So you definitely need to visit! I recommend.
