    An establishment that enables the blind to gain employment. We had a surprise birthday dinner here for a friend. Quite an experience...menu is made known after all is done. It's interesting menu that we either get partially an ingredient or two but many others will throw the scent off. Wine pairing is optional. To maintain the experience no cameras are allowed inside the dining area. They are kept in a locker throughout. The good thing is the menu is regularly altered to keep dining experience fresh.

    I honestly have an amazing experience here... I can vouch that while you dine, it's pitch black. The staff especially Jonathan and AK is trained and extremely accommodating to my needs. And I like as well that they include a lot of tiny dishes in a meal so your taste buds keeps getting stimulated. I would definitely recommend to other fellows to at least have a try :) good job guys

    Excellent experience. Second time here and my guests thoroughly enjoyed itm one of the waitstaff were coughing and sniffing heavily which was worrying given the covid situation. Honestly that made us a bit wary about cleanliness and safety. But all in all I would recommend this place if you're looking for an experiential dining. Bar manager was also extremely friendly and courteous. Wine was divine, good selections.

    Had a really amazing experience dining here. Our guide AK was fantastic as he guided us into the dining area and explained to us about the whole course. What to expect here - you will be dining in complete darkness, and no distractions with you as you’ll be leaving your phones and watches in the locker. Will need to use all your senses except for sight to enjoy the dining experience. I’ve never had to use just smell and taste to eat, and it was mind blowing that certain food tastes very different when you can’t see them. I’ve enjoyed the soup the most, as it was the most mind-blowing experience after the menu was revealed at the end. If you have the opportunity to try this, go for it!

    It was an amazing experience to have dinner under completely dark entertainment. The foods were served by blind people who memorize all layout of the restaurant. I couldn’t even see 1cm away from me. We had practice of using senses except visible before having dinner. It was fun 🤭

    Watches and phones were locked away before being guided by our server (shout out to Marcos) into the dining room. It was such an interesting and disorienting experience wining and dining in the dark but the staff did their absolute best to ensure that we were comfortable throughout the night. Service was excellent and we were amazed by how the staff were able to navigate around the dining room in the dark with ease. We had a lot of fun trying to guess the ingredients in our dishes too!

    Superb great experience at dining in the dark. Boom, the room was total pitch black that you couldn't even see your hand. An experience that words can't justify less u try it for your own. Before we started the courses in the pitch black room, the waitress served us drinks and played some games to get us to the dining experience. Four main courses in total was served, for me and my friends the food was good. Staff were very very friendly and polite. Overall a wonderful dining experience.

    Awesome dinner with full of surprises walking through the darkness and feeling completely not in control. Good place for gathering with friends and fellowship. Food quality is comparatively good and pretty kind of discovery too. U need to book in advance. Go online booking, there are promotions there from time to time. Overall satisfactory. They will give u vouchers after the dinner to upset u to another restaurant opposite to have a drink and chill

    It was my first fine dining in an absolute dark environment. Very good experience with this dining, especially Marcus, he explained everything and tried to calm us in the dark. Food and price is tasty and reasonable respectively.

    Would you like to give something new a try? This place is highly recommended by me. You will experience dining in the dark without a phone on the table. It is completely dark. No phone allowance in the main place. The guide and the other staff members were both extremely friendly. The food is fantastic! The menu will be different every night, depending on the chef, and you must guess it at the end.

    Only thing that can be said is WOW what a surreal experience. The darkness just heightens your other senses making the food taste that much flavoursome. Top it all off seeing how many dishes you can identify at the end just adds more to the already excellent experience a must try for all who visits.

    It’s a very interesting experience. They are very professional n make you feel safe though you are uncertain what you are in for. The food is top grade, very interesting n all taste very good.we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner n the experience. The server is blind n he is very good with his services. Able to make conversation to make us comfortable being in the dark n gave very good instructions to guide us throughout our 4 course dinner of 14 different servings. Well done Dining In The Dark. Kudos. I will want to eat here again.

    Had an absolutely amazing dinner. Upon arrival we were seated in a bar area (still light in the room at this point). To set the scene of what was to come, we were given a mystery drink to try and guess the ingredients of. We then played warm up games. Thiru, our host, was very warm and friendly. We were then led into a completely black room by A.K , our guide for the dining part. A.K was fantastic, I cannot emphasise this enough. I don't want to spoil the dining experience by describing the food, but it is delicious. It truly is pitch black in there, which can be a bit unsettling.

    Do plan to arrive early to make your appointment. Fantastic concept. They will give a eye mask and enter into. The views are are surprised after open the eye mask. Happy to see jobs given for actual blind people as servers here and they've excelled in giving a superb service. Enjoyed the element of surprise. Actually my loving wife prepared the surprise treat for me.i really impressed with it..

    Legit once in a lifetime experience, if you ever plan to bring a special one, this is the place to go. However I must say, don't put such high expectations on the food, it is essentially termed as fine dine but decent at best. Ricardo has been a huge help in the calls and kudos to the assistance given, but my advice, do a better job at wording your words when you meet them, and never make it too obvious in rushing customers when its at the end. Apart from that, the only negative aspect about this place will be the outdoor lounge area, unfortunately very underwhelming. Overall, great experience first time, second time? Probably not. But you get my vote for recommending DITD to my friends. P.S. The waiters were superbly awesome, 5 stars here.

    All pic taken from outsiders before entering to in the dark dining room. Cause is really totally darkness when we enter for dining 😅 tbh.. very surprise for the darkness. Dun really feel comfortable…, abit dizzy while having my meal. Staff is very friendly n the one who serving us food is a blind person. The moment I entering to the darkness, I can feel him … as a blind person. And I’m so proud of him that he can serve us well.., letting us know every movement . Food was okay, I can’t describe much cause I dun even know wat I’m eating at the moment 😅, but I try to enjoy it. You only can experience by its own .

    Blinded not by light but pitch darkness where not even the slightest speckle of light is present in the dining area. 💡 Smell, savour & sip just like how you’d normally do except that your 5th sense of sight is dulled and your remaining senses of taste, touch, smell & sound are augmented to their fullest the moment you step foot into the black dining room, led to your seat and served by visually impaired waiters. 🙈😝 I recommend trying Dining in the dark - Kuala Lumpur out at least once in your life, not for the food per say but for the immersive, humbling experience like no other 🤩 Check out my post on Instagram (HAPPYLIZZIEEATS) for more details!

    Good first time experience dining in a dark room. The whole dining experience is a great sensation from start to finish. The waitresses are very helpful and friendly. They will guide you throughout the entire dining process. Although the food were decent at best, its really the dining in the dark experience that really shine. Tips: Prebook online for a discounted price.

    It was an amazing experience, when you enter they give you welcome drink and you have to guess and then you play a game with blindfolded. Once your table is ready you are escort to your table by the waiter. The restaurant is pitch dark and you are served your food in a player style. I enjoyed the experience. Would recommend other to try this out. Won't say much as I don't want to spoil the surprise waiting for you ☺️

    Our first experience with dining in the dark restaurant during our anniversary celebration on 20/5/22. Went there with my 12 years old daughter. All of us have an enjoyable day there. The staff was friendly especially Yus and Jonathan. The food was delicious and we were having fun trying to guess the ingredients of the food that we have eaten. Yus was very friendly and meticulous when explaining to us on the whereabouts of the food and item. Well done and keep up the good work !

    A very special experience, the environment is truly dark, no matter how hard you open your eye, you still cannot see anything, just listen some others people talking and slowly taste the food, improve our senses. Besides, also is a good time to chitchat in a dark environment with your love one 😊

    Was suggested to visit the place by a friend who was visiting the from US. I was not particularly excited however that changed as soon as we were served our first dish. The whole experience is definitely something you can only get here. Your sense of taste really gets heightened and it was really fun to experience and guess the food we were eating. What made the experience even better was the amazing waiter - AK. He was one of the best waiters I’ve met - he’s friendly and very accommodating to my curious questions on the place as well as himself . Would definitely go again once they change the menu - was told they change the menu once every 3 months

    A really enjoyable experience! The restaurant staff are blind. The whole restaurant is blacked out and you receive the menu at the end. The game is to guess what you’re eating as you put yourself into the shoes of the blind, you go through similar experiences all day, every day. I would recommend!

    This is a surreal and interesting experience and gives you an insight into the lives of the visually impaired. At first, it can be a little daunting as you literally cannot see a thing so you may feel a little claustrophobic and uncomfortable at the start. Our server, AK who is partially visually impaired himself was magnificent and so good at what he does. He verbally provided cues and explained every movement, from leading you into the dining room, getting you seated and acquainted to the table settings to explaining each courses in detail. Despite not having any visuals, the service that we received was probably one of the best service I've ever experienced. The four course menu was also very decent. Highly recommended.

    It definitely a new experience for me. Eating in the dark. Your phone is locked in drawer. You can't even see your hand when you dining. The food is mystery and nice, once you finish and come out, they will show you the menu. My girlfriend and I have a good dinner there and have lovely chat here.

    So I went here with my fiancé and his friend. They had an incredibly good time guessing what the meal was etc. For those with great sense of taste, this is a super experience and when one sense is taken away (being blind), others are heightened. As for me, while the experience is unique, I didn't have such good sensory for taste, so it wasn't the best meal if I can't imagine how it looked like. Service was great though. The waiters, bartenders and host were all friendly and overall great personality. (I mean, my company were very very talkative and they entertained them for very long) Either way, everyone should try it at least once. If you love it, more than twice lol.

    A very unique experience for both of us in Dining in the Dark. We truly enjoyed having fun to guess what food was served on our table. We could only rely on our senses, it is very interesting especially when we used to see our food before we eat, but its never the same here. Excellent service by AK is appreciated, and I was all the time amazed by how he could serve us in the total darkness. We loved it.

    My recent dining experience at Dining in the Dark KL was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was immersed in a world of mystery and excitement. Atmosphere 5 star: The ambiance of Dining in the Dark KL is unlike anything I've ever experienced. The dimly lit surroundings immediately heightened my senses, preparing me for the culinary journey ahead. Service 5 star: The service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff, Yus, were attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the experience with ease and professionalism. Food 5 star: Now, onto the highlight of the evening - the food. Each dish was a masterpiece, expertly crafted to tantalize the taste buds and challenge perception. From the first bite to the last, I was continually surprised and delighted by the bold flavors and innovative combinations. The element of surprise, where I thought I was tasting one thing only to discover another, added an exciting layer to the dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Dining in the Dark KL to anyone seeking a unique and memorable culinary adventure. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or simply looking for something out of the ordinary, this restaurant is sure to leave a lasting impression. My evening at Dining in the Dark KL was one I won't soon forget.

    Must try once in your lifetime to dine in pitch black! The experience was beyond imagination - senses are hyped up, eyes see void the whole time, completely a different world. Food was only so so, but it’s more of the fun guessing what you are having and realizing how much we rely on sight. Service by Ruddah was amazing!

  • 5/5 Yurrit A. 4 years ago on Google
    Fantastic experience. You should try this at least once in your life. Every course consists of a few small dishes, so that you get to try and guess a large variety of tastes and textures. Always surprising to see the menu afterwards and realize you got some of them absolutely wrong. Very humbling to realize the visually impaired waiters experience life like this every day.

    A MUST experience in our life. I truthly repeat to them(blind). Really challenge, excited, and surprise on the food you take. AK was the best waiter I ever met, me n my girlfriend appreciated his service. To who read this, this definitely your choice to spend time of two.

    . . There’s nothing daunting or scary bout this, dining in the dark Kl, a sensory dining in absolute darkness, the lost of sight for 90min, became a sudden realisation that human brain is most impressive in it’s ability to adapt to individual circumstances. Your disabilities turn into ability. From the vast of tangy lemon sauce to pleasant burst of sweet & sour passion fruit, everything tasted & smelled MORE. Will be back for further sensory adventure ! . . . #foodforthegram #klfoodie #buzzfeast #eattheworld #foodporn #instafood #kl #klfood #klfoodie #klfoodhunter #klfoodhunt #klfood

    An interesting concept of dining We were being led by blind, My waiter of the day was Marcus. He was friendly, funny and attentive. If you pay while booking you will get an additional 10% off. The whole environment for dark, pitch dark kind of dark. Overall it was fun , had to keep our phone and watches outside in the locker to truly experience the whole dark dining . Do book beforehand. There is free parking stated in theri website Get to spend more time having conversations and exploring the food that was served. It was really an enjoyable experience , good for anniversaries and birthdays. Menu will be revealed at the end, and it was mind blowing as some doesn't taste as expected. **Do try it yourself and tell the tale as everyone has their own taste and preference :) ** They do change their menu often

    I cannot recommend this place enough. I had an absolutely wonderful time and learned that my taste buds are absolutely useless. The waiting room is fantastic, the dark room itself was an incredible experience, my server was wonderful. As for the food, I don't feel that I can really comment on the quality - I learned that so much of my taste buds are dependent on sight, but the experience itself was completely worth the cost. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience in KL.

    A fantastic place for a romantic dinner with your loved ones. Yes. You won't be able to see each other, or the food, but that's when you'll realize beautiful real conversation is. It's an experience you should try at least once in your lifetime. I tried it twice, and I didn't regret it at all.. It cost roughly 320 for Two pax. The food is excellent.. Their service is superb. The place is kept clean. You might find it hard to get free parking around that area, cos most of it is paid ones, which is OK if you want your car to be safe..

    Excellent dining experience. Not just in terms of taste but to feel our way thruout the dining experience for the fork, spoon. Eating the dishes from bottom right anti clockwise. Listening to the instructiom given by the service crew is very important. Got Marcos as our crew. He is awesome and excellent!! In terms of taste, its definitely putting out taste bud to test. The surprise you will get after realising some of the dishes real ingredients. #Mindblown Change of menu every 3months. Highly recommended

Gave me a sense of appreciation that I can see and that I'm not blind which something I believe alot of normal people takes it for granted. It was amazing experience and the food taste awesome.

    Eating in complete darkness from a menu I do not know is not something I can say I enjoy, but this is an interesting dining concept which you must try at least once. Food was actually tasty once I got over my initial nervousness. Before going in, they do ask you to fill up a form listing whether there are any food items you are allergic to or that you absolutely do not eat, and which they will then avoid serving to you - so that was some consolation to me. Go for the experience and keep an open mind!

    Spent my Christmas eve here, it was a great experience. Comfortable environment, superb food and amazing waiter, Yus! A good place to go with your love one, and pay 100% concentration to them, and the food! Worth every penny! The portion is generous, I wish for lesser so it wont go waste.

    It's a great experience for dining, went with my wife during Christmas eve and their service is awesome. Kudos to all their staff especially Monica, she is friendly and helpful. Everyone should experience this in your life time and understand how it feels. Food is nice and portion is also good.

    An unforgettable dining experience. Food was delicious and service excellent. Kudos to our waiter AK for his friendly and warm service. Really enjoyed ourselves. The absence of light, handphobes and various other distractions means you can really saviour the meal and have wonderful coversations with your loved ones. It was really fun figuring out how to eat with our utensils in the dark (don't worry they serve the food in creative ways to help eating easy) and guessing what each delicious dish was. Will return for sure!

    4 star for food.. 5 star for experience although it's on a $$$ side..Nevertheless its a different kind of experience that I would recommend everyone to try it at least once in a lifetime. You can get vouchers to present it to others. The waiters were exceptional. They even played a birthday song and I got a little present ❤️ P/s : pun intended for the photo

    (Translated by Google) I think it's an interesting life experience. While I couldn't see anything, I wondered what the employees were doing, but the employees were blind people 😳 I was surprised that he was definitely the right person. I'm really sorry in my personal opinion, but I didn't know what I was eating in the dark, and I was offered a strange menu, so I felt strongly that I was eating something I had never eaten. .. Some people may not be able to carry the soup to their mouth and spill it on their clothes, so dressing up may not be necessary. I think most people can't eat it because there is a lot more.

    We dined for almost 2 hours in a pitch black environment, which was quite disorienting at first but we later adjusted to it. Overall, it was a unique and once in a lifetime experience. Had so much fun guessing the foods and its ingredients. Btw our server, Yus was amazing!

    Very nice and fun experiences! A very good place for you to eat without phone, experienced the time without any light and understand the importance of taking care of your eyes. Our waiter, Yus is friendly and nice as well. He will guide us step by step on how to enjoy the food. Strongly recommended place

    A unique experience surely, but the food simply doesn't live up to the expectation. For the price (160RM) one should expect truly gourmet food but it's bland Western fare at best. The only thing this restaurant has going for itself is that they turned off the light and hired friendly staff.

    It was an absolutely unique experience to dine in complete darkness. We had a small blinded game at the bar before entering to the dining hall. When you're ready, you'll be guided by the staff to your designated seat. While dining, It felt that one's sense of taste and smell will be amplified. Not to mention the sense of hearing became sensitive to a point where you are very much aware of the sound around you. Definitely recommended.

    I hope everyone has the opportunity to experience this once in their lifetime. My main takeaway was the realization of just how impactful sight is during a dining experience. It was a true adventure navigating all aspects of the meal in complete darkness. The food was tasty and creative and the staff was friendly and informative.

    The staff was super friendly and engaging. The atmosphere was really comfy and there was a lot of space between tables. The food portions were really good and the food quality was very tasty, all presented in a way that is easy to eat without lights, no bones, bite sized pieces. Overall super recommended experience and will return when they change the menu for next season.

    One of the best dining experienced I ever had, the pitch dark environment let us be able to enjoy the food to its fullest and constantly guessing what you are eating, the food itself was superb, dinning in the dark makes the flavour of the food explode in your mouth. Definitely recommended to anyone celebrating and special occasion or just want a good dining experience

    My Birthday and Anniversary Dinner Date. I recently went to Dining in the Dark❤️💙It is situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Dining in the Dark Kl offers a mystery menu which is then can accommodate all food restrictions. I went there with my boyfriend on a beautiful Friday night. Dining in the dark has become one of the most favourite places to try and I am dying to find out why. As you enter the restaurant, you will be greeted with polite staff. The place is amazing! Everything tasted delicious! , it’s worth it. All in all, I would 100% recommend the restaurant to all my friends and family., I still think the dining experience is worthwhile. I would rate a 10 out of 10 for this amazing restaurant and extraordinary date night.

    `````````````````My recent experience at Dining in the Dark KL was thrilling and surpassed my expectations. Dining in complete darkness heightened my senses, particularly taste, touch, and hearing. The service was exceptional, enhancing the overall adventure. While some dishes were above average, a few were overly sour, affecting the overall enjoyment. The atmosphere was pleasant, though the potential for accidental spills could be addressed with preparatory suggestions. Overall, Dining in the Dark KL offers a unique and exciting experience worth trying. With some minor improvements in food consistency and preparatory guidance, it could elevate the dining adventure further.
    The entire experience was amazing! Right from entering the restaurant, the staff were attentive and nice. The whole restaurant was pitch dark (even being guided to your table was an experience in itself) and you can enjoy the food and conversation without technology distractions :) The menu was terrific and everything tasted so good. We had certain food requests and they accommodated everything. It was a surreal experience. Our server was so great with us and gave us very good guidance throughout dinner. It was an awesome experience! We were celebrating two birthdays in the family and after the dinner, the staff were very patient and took nice pics for us in the bar waiting area. If you haven’t tried, don’t wait any longer! Support the restaurant and their staff.
