First time having omakase and the overall experience is remarkable! From the very first dish to last, all are heavenly delicious, no joke! It keeps you looking forward on whats next. Nonetheless, thanks to the chef who explains every single dish and how to consume it. It does enhance the overall dining experience! It worths every penny. We will definitely come back again to try the next tier. Strongly recommend 😋

Hands down, the best omakase restaurant in KL which I wasn't expecting AT ALL. I mean, no one really talks about this place and it doesn't really show up in those "best omakse spots in KL" lists, so I thought it'd be like any other spot but nooo, this place is bomb. I just don't think they do any marketing and their restaurant is so small and hidden (behind an oyster bar in the basement of the Four Seasons hotel), it's unassuming. I gotta admit, probably one of the pricier omakase spots? But you don't always get premium food at premium prices, and at Hibiki you DEFINITELY do. I opted for the RM750 per person omakase (Miyabi course). The less expensive is RM520 for non-premium ingredients and the more expensive is RM980 if you want to customize it and work with the chef on something Idk special. They put a lot of love, effort, and thought into everything they serve here, you can taste it in every bite. You can also tell by the way the staff (chefs + waiters) are so excited to share information about the ingredients and their process of preparing everything. They have a book handy so they can always show you exactly what you are eating! They get shipments from Japan 2-3 times a week and everything comes FRESH, NOT FROZEN!! You can taste it in their ikura (salmon roe eggs), the saltiness is so mild and it's because they get the fish fresh and dig out the eggs themselvessss. I think this was the best ikura I've ever had. I'm sure 95% of most sushi restaurants get that stuff shipped in frozen lol. I loved everything they had, which was a mix of hot + cold dishes, but the highlights were that ikura, monkfish liver, their super comforting hot red miso soup, and of course the sushi all delicious fresh and some perfect bursts of flavors in your mouth.

Took us a few minutes to find this hidden restaurant near Atlas, Chef Sam and his crew delivered an entertaining and delicious premium sushi set dinner. Some season items are available on request. Ie oyster and futomaki Restaurant opens 7 days a week but was told to avoid Mondays. Can BYO for nominal corkage charge

One of my favourite places for Omakase. Tiny place packed with ambience and authentic japanese fare. It is almost like a speakeasy kind of place whereby only people in the know, know about.... so now that you know, you have to go! You definitely wont be disappointed. A must visit whenever in KL!!

Rather delightful omakase experience am glad another good Japanese has popped up in town. A fun "speakeasy" entry into a small elegant ambience, chef Sam was very hospitable and accommodating. Overall superb quality of sushi although as always I would find the last dish a tad too much, pieces of maki not necessary at all.

Food was awesome. The ingredients that they used in preparing the food were absolutely fresh and delicious. Sitting at the bar table and watching the chef preparing the masterpieces were just entertaining

Late review but felt that it had to be said since it’s still lingering in my mind. I was visiting from SF and have been eyeing this place to try out when I was back visiting family, and unfortunately, had to leave 100% disappointed after our June 10th dinner. We had a party of 3 but was shocked when we were told after being seated, that it would be a tempura omakase vs the expected sushi omakase since the head chef was not available! First off, why weren’t we informed that the head sushi chef was on travel, and they couldn’t serve raw fish prior to our reservation? This should be the first thing any restaurant, let alone fine dining, would inform their customers especially when the prepaid reservation was for sushi omakase and not tempura omakase. Secondly, the apprentice chefs were so unprofessional in explaining the tempura dishes because one of them was drunk from drinking with a bunch of rowdy customers prior to us arriving for our 8:30pm omakase dinner. We truly had such high expectations prior to dining at this place and left completely disappointed with the food and the unprofessional display from the chefs. One would never expect the display of unprofessionalism when the owner/head chef was not in town. Unfortunately, what started out as a great anticipation/expectation meal became pretty bizarre with the drunk and rowdy customers and chefs. By end of the night, we felt so uncomfortable that we wanted the dinner to end quickly. We couldn’t even enjoy the meal anymore without having the thought of the drunk customers approaching us or what would come out from the drunk chef! The manager kept apologizing but that was all he could do… For the total cost of RM$2,134.00 for 3 people, this never really measured up. Maybe they were having an off night without the owner/head sushi chef, but with a restaurant of this caliber, it should not matter – we left feeling utterly underwhelmed by the performance of the apprentice chefs and the meal.

My 1st time in Sushi Hibiki, the entrance is like a secret doorway to yumminess! It has got a dark, romantic ambience, the chefs and staffs are all very friendly. Good food with lots of happy smiley people, what more can you ask for?

Top notch experience. Great food and service. Nothing to complain about. A highlight to my short stay in KL. Real cute when the chef took out a book to explain which fish I was having. Will definitely be a regular if they open up one in Shanghai.

If you're looking for the best Omakase experience in KL, this is it. We tried their dinner Omakase and was mind blow. Immediately knew this was the best in KL. Worthy of its price, and I would recommend the sake pairing.

Went there with my parents, Hidden place with cool dark concept, Went for the 780? Course but the dishes they serve didnt meet our expectations, Freshness can improve, choice of fish is standard... Was served futomaki x1 piece too, i know perhaps they are trying to emphasize that futomaki may bring good luck but i dont really want to see it in my omakase course. Plus omakase course in KL has Just changed so much that now it is a 'standard set course' by the chef. Anyhow overall so so experience. Kl has other better japanese restaurant 😅 But service is good plating is pretty interior design is fun!

One of the newest kids on the block for high end sushi omakase but is already making a name for itself amongst KL foodies. The ambiance is pretty special, like a secret speakeasy. Seating is very limited so it's got that private personal feeling. Chef Sam and his team are super friendly and they really do their best to make you feel welcome. They answer all your questions about the food, where it comes from and why it's special. The food itself is delicious and all sourced from various regions in Japan. The sushi is excellent, but so are the other dishes like the fresh oysters, beef with onsen egg dip, sashimi etc. Highly recommended.

Came here for my birthday celebration and had a course meal at the sushi counter. Quality of food is top notched from the starters to the sushi and all. The fish was fresh and juicy, and the rice was cooked to perfection. Only thing to note is that the wasabi is a biiiitttt more compared to the usual. So if you dont like wasabi, ask the chef to be careful not to put too much. Nonetheless, it was fun chit chatting with the chefs and even got a picture with them. Dessert is average though. The restaurant also gave us a polaroid photo and a birthday card, which i thought was really nice.

A great place for Omakase. Chef Sam is good and friendly, always ready to answer all your queries. Sushis and grilled dishes are awesome too! One of my favourite dishes is the beef dipped in egg yolk. Something different from the usual Omakase. Restaurant ambience are nice and cozy with very limited seats. Be sure you make reservation before you go. Highly recommended for foodies :)

(Translated by Google) To B1 of Four seasons hotel A secretly hidden sushi restaurant that is limited to a hideout 🍣 Pretty recommended ❗️ Thank you for your support ^ _ ^ It's not a cheap sushi restaurant The most attractive part of this restaurant is the professional and loving customer service of the customers, such as suitable ingredients, cooking instructions and drink recommendations! ! (Of course, a counter is recommended!) There are 3 courses Course for small meals (Rin) Signature Course (Hibiki) Premium Omakase (Miyabi) I think that's how it was. Personally, Hibiki is recommended! ^ _ ^ Make Master's space fun! I want to be excited! I really like this idea. Collaborate with jazz bars, call fishermen directly from Japan to explain products, catering services to make dishes from scratch at customers' homes with huge boards, etc. All the stories I heard from Master were all interesting. The regular holiday is Monday! Only one! ! It seems that children under 5 years old cannot enter, it is an adult space ^ _ ^ (Original) Four seasons hotelのB1に ひっそりとある隠れ家的な予約限定のお寿司屋さん🍣かなりオススメ❗️ 何度かお世話になっています^_^ 決して安いお寿司屋さんではありませんが それに見合った食材、料理説明、飲み物のオススメなどお客さんに対するスタッフのプロフェッショナルであり愛のある接客がこの店の一番の魅力!!

Such an exquisite omakase experience with sushi chef Nicholas Yap and his detailed explanation of the dishes and the sake he recommended. Thanks for making this birthday treat memorable for my brother. He said he won't forget the delicious monkfish liver, uni, horse mackerel, silverjack, bluefin ootoro and sake pairing. We will definitely be back!

The omakase of all omakase. It’s unique as the chef used flavors that are less ordinary. Carabinero prawns, sushied abalone and etc... no weird stuff like sperm of a whale to elevate the offerings. Clean, fresh taste. Chef Saito was previously from Sushi Azabu, a Michelin starred sushi restaurant in NY

One of the best if not the the best sushi joint around. Tried them all and had the best experience here. Tempura cooked tot he point, freshness of fish is amicable, service is excellent. They can improve though on the flavor of their egg custard:))) it was rich with lots of flavorful ingredients. The texture and Dashi or soy was missing a notch. Food here is simple and flavorful. Minimal seasoning. Which is what you expect from a good Japanese restaurant. Thanks Sam :)

The sushi was excellent. However, as a solo diner I felt rushed through the nigiri courses. The chef was serving always the next piece when I hadn't finished the last one. It is a pity to have this speedy experience during such a menu. Also, the dessert was really disappointing - served in a plastic container (very inelegant in such a venue) and containing cream and corn flakes was a definite fail after such beautiful fish. The price is for sure not low either... I am happy to pay for quality, but next time let's serve a proper dessert without plastic, and maybe allow the diners to enjoy the moment.

One of the best and no regret to this Omakase dining restaurant. Serving premium quality food and service. Chefs and staffs are friendly and attentive. Great dining experience. 3 selections, min spending per pax is RM400++ with drinks. Recommend to make reservation especially big group. This space can only cater 20-22 pax at one time. Try to get the bar counter sitting. This restaurant is “hidden”. Just head to the Oyster Bar dining area and look for the “fish” signboard on wall.

We ordered the Hibiki omakase and every dish was excellent. Very fresh, tasty and the servings were timely. The courses were not rushed and served appropriately so I can savor and enjoy every dish. My favourite was the sea urchin from Hokkaido and the Chutoro that melted in my mouth. The dessert was a delight as well. Chef Sam was friendly and his waiter provided excellent service. An intimate seating with tasty affordable menu. I’ll definitely be back! Not forgetting the pairing of sake added to the palate!

Service was one of the best I have ever had. The chefs took their time to explain the origins of the dishes, the way it's cooked and how it's best enjoyed, which made the experience very immersive and enjoyable. The atmosphere of the place gave a very grandeur, classy vibe. Overall my experience was great and I would show more people next time I'm in KL.

Sushi Hibiki, hidden unknown but full of surprises. We were greeted on a first name basis, which was a very nice touch, with the restaurant prepared for what we have initially ordered. The cold green tea served was the special of the day, made an impressive welcome drink, with it's refreshing 'green' smelling flavor which instantly wakes you up. We are one for nigiri sushi, hence we picked the Iki course, complete with 10 pieces of premium sushi. The lineup of dishes can be found in the pictures below, but I like how the selection of dishes although similar with the higher end Japanese restaurants in KL, displays a range of differentiated flavors through its methods of preparation. Overall, a satisfying experience and would definitely recommend coming over to try out.

I'm so lucky to have Sushi Hibiki as my first fine Japanese omakase dining in KL, and I could say both service and quality deserves my time to write a review. To note, I wasn't a fan of fish except for dory fillets, and my tongue was only familar with budget eats sushi, and now I regret for coming to Hibiki because I crave for more. 🥺. This is not paid nor exaggeration review, tbh. The most interesting part about Sushi Hibiki is that they serve a fine quality of experience and story, even through their dishes. I was halfway the course and started to get full, most probably because of the Ocha and drinks served (and I'm not quite a drinker person). 👩‍🍳 From appetizer to dessert, staffs ensured that I know what's on my plate, what's the story behind it, and most importantly what's the best way to enjoy it. Very helpful for Omakase newbies like me. 🥂 Counter seating is preffered. Ambience is just perfect for casual to fine dinings. For those who enjoyed irresistible champagne and whisky over your hot dish, you should definitely have a shot with one of the Chefs. —Also: should try Hibiki whisky! 🥃 🍣 Didn't took all of the sushi pics, but here are some of the shots. (Others & Ambience can check on my insta - @finallyyn under FOOD highlight) My comments are on the pic captions. Will I come back: Definitely yes, especially for the Nodoguro, Blue Fin Tuna sushi and trying out other courses. Kudos to Chef Sam, Chef Nicholas, Jo, Faka, Kimmy, and Mariza for the excellent service. Please consider opening branch in Indonesia but nearby my house ❤

The restaurant has a great and cozy vibe. The servers were fantastic and super attentive. The assistant chefs were very knowledgeable about the food being served. The food itself was for the exquisitely presented and prepared. It was also very good. The only reason for not giving 5 out of 5 stars is that the head chef was busier drinking with a female guest. At this price point we expected more than the head chef just dropping the food without any explanation. A shame really. Kudos to the rest of the team for a pleasant experience.

A true Japanese sushi bar dining experience Sushi Hibiki is one of the best sushi bars that I've ever visited in Kuala Lumpur. They serve the finest-quality, in-season ingredients imported from across the world, and strive to give patrons a true feel of the Japanese sushi-bar culture. All the fish served is fresh and "clean-tasting" (you can really taste all the flavours of the fish!), and the ratio of fish to rice is perfect (if you fill up easily, you can request for the chef to make your sushi with less rice). If you are lucky enough to catch the seasonal produce, I would highly recommend having a go at the saltwater uni, shinko fish, fresh ikura and fresh edamame. To keep up the practice of serving only the freshest ingredients, Sushi Hibiki operates with a set menu, but you are welcome to order any additional sushi / item that you fancy (with additional charges of course). Amazing food aside, Chef Sam and his team are very friendly thus creating a comfortable ambience in the restaurant. I've had some of the most beautiful dining experiences eating here with Sam and his team. The restaurant is quite small and exclusive, therefore prior reservations are recommended. I suggest taking a seat at the counter where you can watch the chefs at work, and engage in friendly conversation.

Amazing experience at Sushi Hibiki! First time a chef took out a book to show us pictures of the fish and where they are from, but it really elevated the meal for us. Probably the best sushi I've had, and I wasn't expecting to find it in KL! Restaurant itself is hidden in plain sight in the basement, and has a beautiful austere decor. The menu is simple and straightforward, as it should be. I'd recommend a late dinner, so you have the chance to chat with the chefs as well.

This is my absolute favourite restaurant in KL, and easily one of the best places I have ever eaten at! Whenever I go it is always amazing food and a fun experience. Saito Sam and his staff are amazing. I really appreciate the time they take to talk to you and their passion for what they serve! I cannot recommend this place enough!

Exquisite taste, nice environment, friendly staff, will definitely find time to visit again especially during year end when more exotic seafood and spices are available according to the chef.
