Was so excited to try out DC initially with the good reviews but I would say DC is just so overrated, everything was just mediocre. Firstly, the serving time for the 4 course meal is way too long. We experienced a "SLOTH STYLE" serving, spending 4 hours for a 4 course meal, feeling sleepy while waiting for our dish to be served. Secondly, the food was just below expectations and they charged at SUCH SKY HIGH PRICE. Top up around RM200 for the lobster, lobster was fresh and cooked finely BUT what I've got was half portion of it with some burnt carrots around and puree that doesn't blend well with the dish. With the amount spent, I could have gone for better options :)

It was a special ladies night out and we wanted a memorable meal, this is just the right place to be. We went for the 5 course meal and for the mains, one tried the lobster while the rest went for the signature roasted lamb rack. I enjoyed the bread with caviar butter, wished they would give extra caviar butter instead of changing to normal butter when we finished the first round 😊. I enjoyed the knives selection section, we had some fun choosing and posing for pictures. The staff entertained our indecision and waited patiently plus double up as our photographer for the night. Thanks for the good service and wonderful experience.

DC never disappoint. Service is impeccable, everyone’s passionate and knowledgeable. Food is exquisite and prepared with care. At at first I was quite hesitated with the new moon room, because I found it quite cheesy. But honestly I quite like it in real, it’s quite romantic to spend quality time with partner.

Service is impeccable. Food is prepared with much detail n cooked to perfection. Had the 4 course dinner. Upgrade main to lobster is highly recommended. The lobster is cooked to perfection n easily the best lobster I've ever had. The upgrade to Miyazaki A5 beef is also recommended. All in all, a really perfect dining experience.

We had the truffle menu and everything tasted great from beginning to the end, especially the scallop that had a touch translucence in the middle was beautiful and perfect. Service was attentive and not pushy at all. Conversation with the server was very pleasant and our feedback was well received instead of being defensive. DC deserves all the accolades and is a very safe fine dining choice in KL

We made our booking at 7.30pm and we waited 2 hours to get our 2 dishes out. and another 2 more hours to finish our entire 4 course meal. I am not sure if this is the right way to eat a fine dine but the time consumed to have a 4 course meals is too ridiculous. We finished our meal at around 11.15pm. We initially wanted to visit the moonbar thinking we might end the meal earlier (9-10pm) but we ended up at 11pm. The food was just so-so and not much of a surprise element. The waiter told us that they have event going on upstairs which make the meal to be served late but i think as a professional restaurant, this shouldnt be an excuse if your kitchen cannot cope up with the capacity of your guest. Why would you sacrifice your other guest like me and some other tables around us to satisfy your "EVENT" guest. We paid the same fair amount of money and it cost thousands for have a meal over there expecting to have a wonderful night but we end up going back with just feeling tired and exhausted after the dinner. I definitely will not come back again given my first time fine dining experience with DC gone down the drain. Really does not recommend here. Sorry for being honest on my opinion. I think you guys really need to work on your serving timing. No one in the world would want to wait 3-4hours to have 4 dishes served up to them. Try imagine if I were to have gastric midway due to the food served was so long.

Pretty thrilled to visit DC restaurant as it is known to be one of the top notch restaurants. However, this experience left me no choice but to condemn this restaurant. Understand that food were prepared freshly but the time needed to prep the dishes took too long. Besides waiting for it, I realised that the other tables that came later than me ended up getting served the dishes earlier than mine, pretty sure I ate things at normal rate timing.. in the end all tables were done except mine.. not to mention but I think someone accidentally dump a whole chunk of salt into the dishes.. barely drink water but I think what worth the most the entire night was the plain water.. overall I don’t mind paying for something good but this is just below average..

DC Restaurant is a fine dining restaurant you should try if you enjoy fresh flavours and a gastronomical experience. Before I get to the food let me talk about the other factors: Price: The restaurant’s menu definitely shows as a “special occasion” menu. A 4 course dinner is MYR 498 nett per pax. They served still and sparkling water, with both in the double digits. We opted out from the wine as it was too pricey. You can bring your own wine where a corkage fee will be charged depending on the size of your bottle. (Starting from MYR 100 corkage fee) Ambience and service: You will need to ring a door bell before entering, signifying exclusivity. The moon bar is the prettiest for photos but not the nicest for a private event as the music gives a casual vibe. We went for the Salon, located on the 1st floor. It was not as private as I thought , as we had a neighbour next to us who was chattering pretty loud. Do note that this is a shoplot area, so don't expect five-star hotel views with exquisite furniture. The waiters are very attentive, too attentive at times which I appreciate. (I used the knife the wrong way 😅). The only thing I didn’t quite like was the waiter asking us if we wanted coffee and tea after our mains and we were charged for it. Note to self: nothing is complimentary unless it is stated. Food: ordered the normal four-course. There were plenty of starters and appetisers. Was not a fan of the amuse bouche (Felt it was rather plain). The monk fish was my favourite. Also, the Echo of the sea and the Hokkaido scallops (these are before the main) was a unique experience. If you enjoy umami flavours, then you would like both of them. The duck as a main fell flat for me. Perhaps one of my mistakes was ordering an additional main (lobster roll) which was pushing my food intake limit. By the time I arrived at the dessert/cheese platter, it was a struggle to finish my meal. Note to self no 2: don’t order ala carte unless it’s shared with more than 2 people. Overall, great experience, and it’s ok to order less next time. (P.S. there was a large cockroach around the toilet. Glad I only saw it after my dinner haha. Luckily there are three toilet floors)

Had a memorable modern French cuisine fine dining here. We went for 5 course seasonal truffle menus. The food was extremely good, and the ambience was warm and welcoming. The staff there patiently explained each course meal served. We didn’t manage to book the moon bar that day but the staff was so kind and brought us to the moon bar for drink after our dinner.

I do think that the food is little disappointing, especially after reading the good reviews. Half of them are pretty good, but other are just so so, not impressing. Topped up around RM200 to upgrade the main course to wagyu but feel disappointing, I think the lamb rack is better, lamb rack is good, so better don’t upgrade to wagyu. Serving time is indeed long, we had our 7 course meal and took around 4 hours. Felt sleepy while waiting for the food which made my tasting experience not as good. Nonetheless, the service is good. It is just my personal opinion. I feel it is overrated, but since so many good reviews previously, so I think maybe the previous seasonal menu was more satisfying than this seasonal menu.

We had the 5 course truffle menu and really enjoyed some of the dishes. My favourites were the Goma tofu with crab, Danish Langoustine, Gemelli pasta with truffle and the roasted rack of lamb. Wished they had truffle butter instead to accompany the breads as well as more ways to infuse truffle into the menu as the same truffle jus was used in a few of the dishes. More dessert options would have been great too but great night and experience nonetheless. Service was top notch especially from the new manager they hired (sorry forgot his name)

A long overdue review of a memorable evening early this month ! Flawless in every way ! Glad to revisit after a long hiatus from them ( DC has in fact been our go to place for celebrations of all sorts since its opening). Hospitable as ever, Restaurant Manager Yann takes note of all my requests, even gets back with better table option just the night before our dinner. As usual we go for the Discovery Menu for a full on indulgence. Big up to a tremendous sprint on food presentation - clean and pristine. NEAT! The flow and rhythm of the scrumptious spread of premium seasonal offers are well orchestrated and coherent. The execution is confident and suave, unassumingly sophisticated without overly manipulating the ingredients. An unsung hero worth mentioning is their palate cleanser, never a plain dull concoction in DC ! This time we have : pumpkin/ ginger/ lime/ hazelnut/ semut flower -mind bowing combo awaking all senses for the subsequent dishes. As it was a birthday celebration, they even presented us a special Birthday dessert (on top of what are already in the menu), a marvellous take in transforming a single ingredient, glutinous rice, to a phenomenal interplay of all forms and textures. Chef Darren even personally serves one of the courses - an admirable gesture for any chef of his standing. Mature as they are in the market, they maintain humble, ready to embrace constructive feedback at all times - they don’t wait, they ask, always going the extra miles! From appetizers to desserts, every bite is effortlessly luscious and mesmerising. Coupled with exquisite customer service, DC is a definite all-rounder as a fine dining experience.

Went for the 5-course meal and it was delicious! Service was great and it was quite an experience at the moon bar. Quality of food is definitely there coupled with a fine experience like how they shave truffle and debone a fish right in front of you. The desserts are also amazing! Would be back for more!

3 storey modern dark themed M star French restaurant with W hotel vibes. Had the Empereur menu which is just amazing. 10 courses with Ingredients across several continents is a sure pleaser of the palate. Fresh seafood paired with excellent culinary skills and beautiful presentation. Certainly a must for special date with a love one!

Background One of the few Michelin-starred restaurants in Malaysia. They serve modern French cuisine. Ambience The dining is on the first floor. Unfortunately for me, I could not get the moon bar dining. However, the salon dining was great and more intimate. Service You would first be greeted at the entrance and would be ushered to the holding area downstairs. You would be led to your desk on a first-come, first-serve basis. Our host was amiable and funny. Food Kudos for having a vegetarian menu, but advance notice needs to be provided. I enjoyed most of the courses. Hat off to the pastry chef for the fantastic bread basket, especially the croissant. Overall It was a scrumptious and delightful meal. I definitely would return to check out their next menu

Visited on 6/8/23 and had the 5 course truffle tasting menu at DC. All dishes were creative with impeccable presentation and they are well worthy of their Michelin Star. Only dish that did not work for me was the Pen-Shell but everything else just hit the spot. Prices are a little on the high side but well worth every penny. They have amazing desserts too that summed up a glorious meal. Would definitely be back in future if i were to be visiting KL.

Now this place is not only one of my favorite restautant in kl....but also over in Asia. Appreciated their great hospitality , that in fact enhanced its dignity. Nice presentation and no need to mention it's yummy! They were so generous with truffle. That triggered my appetite and i couldn't stop myself ordering extra dish truffle pasta...rich and deep taste...♡ Generally so happy to dine here and definitely will go back soon.

Fabulous dinner! Simply divine... Our top 3 dishes... The echo of the sea cappellini, Irish Duck and the Hitachi Japanese Wagyu.... The chitose strawberries from Cameron's was a lovely finish to our dining experience... We'll definitely be back. For mains, we'd prefer the beef over the lamb and cod fish. The foie gras add on was a lovely touch as well

Those who say KL does not have any good restaurants should just eat back their own words. The ingredients presented seems to come from all over the world, and excellent quality. The cold angel pasta with special sauce and snow crab was delicious, and the A5 miyazaki wagyu was cooked to perfection. The gatronomic experience here is worth every cents spent.

Now, where do I start with this restaurant? The nothing short of perfect service, the impeccable set menu or the over the top (but super tasty) plates? My partner and I decided to come here for our joined birthday celebration, and couldn’t be more pleased with our decision! He’d been wanting to try it out and what a better cause for a celebration, amirite? We were seated at the top level, in one of the private dining rooms which was nice because you can really get the privacy if that’s what you seek. We decided to go for the 5 course « fruits de mer » menu; and every single one of our dishes were amazing; from the amuse bouche, to the 3 starters with quality ingredients such as the Hokkaido Scallops, snow crab and uni. Literally ever bite was accompanied by an « mmmm », « so good » For the main, both of us decided to opt for the slow roasted rack of lamb. This plate definitely converted me to a lamb lover! It was so tender and every bite quite literally melted in my mouth. Absolute treat. Last but not least, the dessert. Because it was both our birthdays, we got double the dessert! Each of us received a raspberry lychee macaron which was to die for (on the house) and from the menu, we both decided to opt for the Gunaja 70% dark chocolate crepe soufflé. Now by this time both of us were stuffed to death but not a sight of anything remain on the plate. Just delightful! All in all, it was the perfect birthday date for both of us. I couldn’t have imagined a better person to experience this with! If and when my wallet allows, I’ll be coming back, time and time again! ———————————————— Updated May 2023 Came back with my partner to try the summer truffle menu and it was to die for! The only thing that was a tad disappointing was the main, which was a lamb rack, which came out somewhat raw (we weren’t asked for our meat cook preference) and was way too salty! Me already getting full décidéd not to make a comment, and just stopped eating. One of the restaurant manager noticed it and insisted on bringing a new smaller plate. It came out perfect and I’m glad they insisted on it. But this level of service, is really why I’ll come back time and time again (when my wallet allows me 😬)

Regrettably, an oversight by the Concierge at Four Seasons led to the reservation mishap at Bref by Darren Chin instead of the intended DC by Darren Chin, a Michelin-starred establishment. Despite the courteous staff in the nearly vacant restaurant, our vegetarian dietary preferences posed a challenge, resulting in a limited offering of pasta. We hold the belief that a true MasterChef's prowess shines brightest when faced with culinary challenges, showcasing their ability to elevate even the simplest ingredients. In our case, being vegetarians didn't entail a desire for exotic dishes; rather, a hope for a thoughtful creation featuring vegetables and dairy. We were optimistic that Mr. Darren Chin could surprise us with a delightful vegetarian option. To our disappointment, the evening concluded with the presentation of a modest package containing four cookies as a parting gesture, accompanied by the assurance of a complimentary dessert. This departure from expectations left us yearning for the innovative and satisfying culinary experience that is synonymous with Michelin-starred establishments.

Really enjoyed the experience with a great service team who are very patient and understanding. The food was good with the truffle pasta being the highlight for me. Hanwoo beef was good as it’s nice and meaty and doesn’t feel too greasy. Not easy to find hanwoo beef prepared in restaurants here, so it was a pleasant to be able to find this at DC.

Good food and excellent service! I had the Taste menu which comprises of 6 courses and also had a foie gras as an add on. The first course was an oyster which was almost superb. If the oyster was cooked 5-10 seconds less it would’ve been perfect for me. My favorite was the pasta with uni and king crab. It was outstanding, the sauce was addictive and the uni was sweet. 3rd dish was cod - it was good but the green parsley powder didn’t really work for me. 4th dish was a octopus tentacle with some squid and barley. My least favourite dish, overall just lacking oomph. Main course was a rack of herb crusted lamb. The lamb was good but the sides that came with the lamb were not. All the sides were sweet and didn’t go together with the lamb at all. Dessert was a cheese platter, good selection of blue cheese as well. Stilton was stunning. Overall a great dining experience and would definitely return one day. Service from all staff was superb from the moment we stepped in till we left.

Let’s cut it short: best fine dining experience in KL so far. The dining room is looked after every detail, glasses, wine glasses, tablecloths Waitress are always spot-on, and always answering any question about the dish, I personally find this is a huge plus in KL. Food, is superb, in terms of cooking techniques and flavour. Huge thumbs up to the capellini, lamb and stingray. Cheese table-cart, as it should be, with a very attentive and skilled staff and well tuned cheeses. Wine list is on the pricey side for European wines...but you have to think about the local taxes, transportation and so on.

Would definitely deserve a Michelin star. We will definitely recommend to our friends and come back.

Food courses ranges from excellent to ordinary. To be fair, for food, I should rate this place 4-stars. Nothing wrong with the service. Only wish I can actually understand what the waiter was saying when he brings out each dish. Overall ambience for supposedly a 5-star (prices) place did not meet expectations. Summary:. Nice food, but not worth the prices as an overall experience.

Second time at DC but this time for a collaboration with Sam san of Sushi Hibiki. Food at DC was great as always. Each ingredient is placed for a reason; to complement the flavours and textures of the rest of the dish. Exactly what fine dining food should be. The shellfish mascarpone ice-cream with caviar was the standout for me. If there's a Malaysian restaurant that deserves a Michelin star, it would be DC. Was pleasantly surprised by the sushi. Treated edo-style, it's slightly different from your typical sushi flavours. Very good nonetheless. Can't wait for the next time I return to DC. Always excited with the food here. Pricey but worth it for a special treat imo.

Really nice and friendly people too Food: Really yummy and refreshing! Especially the Australian beef is to die for. The perfect combination of the beef the sauce and a dab of wasabi. 👍🏻 Ambience: very nice and private in the new extension part of the restaurant Highly recommend and would go back again ❤️❤️

Came here for a quiet dinner with my hubby plus he did a 'sweet' birthday surprise☺. Lovesss the selection of breads, esp the croissant. "Echo of the Sea" is my fav👍🤩. My main course , the Japanese A5 Wagyu is cookd to my perfection. It was a fine-dining taste indeed!🥰. Friendly and knwledgeable staffs. 👍

If only I could give 7 stars...where do I start? It wasn't just a meal...it was a culinary journey with a good feel right from the start through Carmen when making my reservation, culminating in checking in and leaving ourselves in the splendid care of Hafiz and gang. The food itself was out of this world...we had the 5 course meal + 1 wine pairing...this meal ranks 1st in my books, out of all the fine dining experiences I'be had with my wife. What stands out?? Perfect wagyu...even better than the ones we've had in Japan. Compliments to the chef!! Thank you Hafiz and co...we'll definitely be back!!

This restaurant was good. Their 4 course meal taste so good and as well as the environment. Servers are quite responsible as well but the only 1 thing is fine dine tooks alot of time to serve the food (but it is understandable). Suitable for couple's big day celebration or small group dining for any event. But in order to park near to the restaurant, please come early else you will need to park somewhere far from the restaurant.

Quite impressed with their food. The Jerusalem artichoke veloute is the ⭐️ of the dinner. Echo of the sea is also very good, just the uni lack of a little freshness. Rack of lamb was very lovely, but I personally didn’t quite like the daikon and sunflower seed emulsion. Scallops were fantastic too! Services were tip top! The whole experience was very enjoyable! Do pay their newly open bar a visit, cocktails were really good!

Good experience with the wines & champagne pairing dinner menu. Unexpected the poor soundproof in the function cubicle ~ using curtain fabric.

I must say this is one of my most “WOW” dining experiences! Even my partner agrees, while it's not cheap, the experience and food deserve the price and for a special occasion.

DC restaurant in Kuala lumpur 23/11/2023 Dinner at DC with my family was a magical experience. First time dining at a Michelin star restaurant and the magic was definitely there. The stars did align for us that night as we ended up dining in our own private alcove. From the mesmerizing stories of the Maitre d’Hotel, the perfect dance performed by the entire wait staff, and of course the food perfectly executed this is an evening that none of us will ever forget. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
