😠 Worst experience in the outlet of Oriental Group. I have been a big fan of Oriental Group and have enjoyed their dishes in the other brands like Ruyi & Lyn and The Han Room. My dining experience in Yu is really bad, and how bad can it be? We arrived in a group of 4 at 745 pm, the restaurant is ope... Worst experience in the outlet of Oriental Group. I have been a big fan of Oriental Group and have enjoyed their dishes in the other brands like Ruyi & Lyn and The Han Room. My dining experience in Yu is really bad, and how bad can it be? We arrived in a group of 4 at 745 pm, the restaurant is operating at 60% occupancy. The first dish was served at 840 pm which I couldn't understand at all. Duck was not fully cooked, and the duck meat with noodle is really bad. The duck was so hard that an old chicken taste better than that. What is the worst part? There is a hair in the tofu dish. That really shocked me as I was not expecting something like this in such a good restaurant. Furthermore, so many dishes were not available. When we ordered the dessert, I ordered the mango sago but it is not available, so I just asked what is available; in the end there are only 2 out of 10+ are available. It took them 20 minutes and 2 times asking the waiter just to pack a small bowl for us. To be honest, I am really disappointed as my Friday night was ruined badly. The whole experience was not something I expected. Being one of the fine restaurants in that area, I don't think I will ever enter again. 8/10 for environment but 1/10 for the food we had.

Great place to experience gourmet dim sum, they truly transform ordinary Chinese dim sum dishes into something extraordinary special and in gourmet style presentation with unique taste. Everything was delicious. Considered top end dimsum dining at a posh ambient restaurant. Well worth the upmarket price. Highly recommended

I recommended this place for our get together after not seeing my 2 friends for such a long time. I have seen and read positive reviews about this restaurant so naturally, I wanted to try it out myself. I arrived early and was surprised the entrance is actually outside of the Gardens Mall along the main road. The service was warm and efficient. My friends were not the ones who ponders too long at the menu and were very decisive in their order (my fav kind of dining companions). The food came soon enough and we tucked in as we were hungry. Soon, the crowd came as the hours turned to noon. By that time, we had finished all the food although we are quite sure we over ordered. The 2 ladies did a fair job polishing off the remaining food.

We ordered set meal for CNY gathering. It has a very spacious dinning room with karaoke and good service. The minimum spent for the private room is about RM1,500. They maintain their food quality.

Overall food was ok but not above expectation at this price range, and I found not every dish was good even thought showed as chef recommended. The table arrangement doesn't make customer feel as a premier restaurant here. I think you can find a better restaurant with better environment better taste at this price range. A bit disappointed with Oriental Group for this restaurant.

Overall all dim sum we ordered was delicious except for the baked char siew bao is a bit sweet. If can reduce the sweetness then it will be perfect.

Had the RM1388 CNY Celebration lunch menu. Taste is so-so but using the expensive ingredients (Abalone, Fish Maw, Black truffle sauce and Garoupa fish).

Generally, the dimsum is delicious. Minor complaint though, the charcoal custard bun filling is just not much.

We have very nice dim sum here before. Therefore, we re-arrange x-co gathering here during Cny. We ordered CNY set, but we all are disappointed. Recommended to order their dim sum but not for cny dishes. :p

Very nice atmosphere with instrumental oldies songs playing in the background. There is a toilet in the restaurant itself. Salted egg prawns were quite good. Had the peking duck where skin was served in fluffy white baos and the meat was stir fried with ginger and spring onion. The skin was good, but the stir fry was just ok. The taufu with spinach and mushrooms were quite good. Sauce was flavourful and paired well with the good tofu texture. The sweet and sour chicken could be a little more crispy/crunchy. I felt they didnt deep fry it properly enough. The restaurant is pork free so it's safe for Muslim friends to dine here. Overall the food was above average, however for the very steep pricing, I can't say I'll be back.

Went here for dinner. Ordered ; spicy garlic chicken with white rice : solid 10/10. Big portion, very delicious, the chicken is juicy. Kueyteow sup prawn ( forgot the name)- 10/10 the broth is soooo rich the prawn is so big. And the portion is big enough for 2-3 pax to eat. And its very delicious too. Crabmeat soup- 10/10 sedap gila. Rick in umami. Coconut jelly + lotus yam dumpling was super good 10/10. Friendly staff, fast service. Will come again with my family

It's Chinese cuisine in the sense that every dish is curated for taste and presentation. Those who often say, wah, look nice but so little to eat, not full, go for the smoked chicken and fish dishes. If you love yourself enough to treat yourself to the decorated dishes? Single pax soups and meats will get the message to your subconscious. I found it an oasis and joyful in a quiet way. Service is attentive and superb. Test: Finish your yes and count how many seconds before it's refilled. Report back here if more than 10 seconds. Recommended fur business lunches and second dates. Price-wise, but as high as upperty places, but if you're the man in the date, you're paying. If you're the woman on a date, let him show you how much he loves himself.

Loves the dim sum here. My fav & among the best i have tested so far: Raddish kuih Fish dumpling Avocado shrimp popiah Crispy chee cheong fun. Altho it's pricier than outside dim sum, but they uses great quality ingredient and also very creative. So thing diff from usual old school dim sum. Will come again soon! But service can be improve.

First time dining at Yu, was having a high expectation because of its pricing. To my surprise I found that why service was average and food took a long time to be served. The plating was impressive but tastewise it was average only. Could be specifically this branch only....

Recently updated their pork free dim sum menu. Portion is good and we really loved the upgraded fried lobak cake, crispy prawn in rice paper noodles and the porridge. Could possibly avoid the butterfly pea with mushroom (looks great but meh...) and the bbq beancurd roll....

Excellent dim sum and dishes. Personally don't even miss the lack of pork (Yu is pork-free). A bit pricey but portions are good and service is excellent.

This restaurant serves very creative dim sum, highly recommended for anyone who is looking for creative breakfast with family members or friends gathering. Services here are definitely a 5 star rating. Food generally presentation is very creative, however the dietary combination is a bit salty for health conscious consumers.

Had ala carte lunch. Its a HALAL Chinese Restaurant. Most diners ordered dimsum but offered limited choice over CNY23. * Deer tendon - too dry * Beef Kueyteow - good * Chicken fried rice - normal * Spinach soup - MSG * Mala fried chicken - frozen chicken. Not recommended for ala carte dishes.

Came 2 days ago and was told that all duck dishes were not available. Had to change my order 3 times as the waiter isn’t aware of the other unavailable dishes for the night. Thankfully there were slightly more hits than misses— the salted egg fish skin was appetizing, incredible value for shark fin soup and the tofu was decent but the texture of their spicy chicken (辣鸡丁) feels extremely similar to battered fish and the vegetables taste just like the ocean. Ambience and service is within expectations but there’s definitely room for improvement in managing and sourcing ingredients to maintain variety. There were a few fusion dishes which sounds interesting from reading the menu so I would consider returning to try them but certainly not so soon.

Kinda “atas” place with some “atas” price dimsum. Love the smell of the lemongrass when you enter the restaurant. However dimsum is so so. Some came in a very nice presentation but that’s basically just it. Even the skin can be too thick. :/ so it’s overpowering the filling taste. Fried rice is not bad. Waiting time is also not bad. But please note the waitress if you want to your dessert dim sum to be served later. We got our salted egg/ custard pao first. Skip the cheong fun. Its thick and crunchy??? Yes. The top part is a bit crunchy.

Good service and ambience. Food portion is rather small. Price on the higher side. Pork free. UOB credit card can get 10%-15% discount with min. spending RM300.

What’s a day … maybe business too “brisk” at this outlet !! The 2 PICs had such poor attitude !!! I gave a good review previously but withdraw my compliments !! The PICs shouldn’t be in the F&B industry !’ The basic etiquette of a reknown Resturant is tarnished by these staff !! So , food wasn’t the best today plus with attitude issue worsens the experience !! Don’t think will patronage this outlet again !!

The best soup ever <double boiled fresh fish maw in shark’s bone soup> I love to bring my family here, cozy environment especially after shopping in The Garden. Unique dim sum compare to other Chinese restaurant.
